RecurDyn is a CAE software program in integrated multi-discipline dynamics based on MFBD (Multi
Flexible Body Dynamics). RecurDyn consists of Professional and Toolkit and Toolkit is divided as
Interdisciplinary and Communicator and Application Toolkits.

New Functions

Geo Contact
The contact element for the general purpose has been added. This
element can be used in the case of rigid-rigid, rigid-flex, flex-rigid,
flex-flex geometries.
User Define String
It is possible to define the string as a Subentity. This string entity can
be used in the user subroutine.
Sensor Output Expression
The expression of "SENSORDETECTEDPOINT" has been added. Using
this expression, the information of detected point by general sensor
can be calculated.
RFlex Stress/Strain Request
It is possible to use the strain, stress of RFlex body in Request.
Error message
The user can output a list of entity which has the biggest force, when
the error message, "Stepsize is too small" is output.
CUBSPL Interpolation
The Cubic spline interpolation function is added in Expression.
Quadratic Extrapolation
The quadratic extrapolation option has been added in Spline.
Display Progress
The progress of current simulation is displayed by the % on Status Bar.
Elapsed Time
The elapsed time after starting a simulation is displayed on Status Bar.
Display RMD Export Time
The duration time of the generating RMD file when exporting RMD file
is displayed in Output Window.
Display Converting Time
The duration time of converting from RMD file when simulating is
displayed in Output Window.
Tooltip in Working Window
The Tooltip function which displays the general bodies, general
markers, and parametric points has been added.
Auto fit when Working Plane Change
The Auto Fit when changing working plane function has been added. If
this option is used, the screen view is optimized automatically when
changing working plane using View Change, Rotate Working Plane and
Working Plane Change (Axis) toolbars.

Rotate Working Plane


The Rotate Working Plane function has been added to View Control
Toolbar. The working plane is rotated by 90 degrees when using this
function.
View Snap
The View Snap function has been added to View Control Toolbar. The
current view is rotated to the Plan view or Isometric view of the
nearest direction from the current view.
View Preset
The View Preset function has been added to View Control Toolbar. It is
useful to preset the view of window.
General Interface
When the user double-clicks the PV, PP, PVC, PPC, Spline, Expression,
etc. in Database, the selected items are highlighted in the open dialog.
Plot Drawing
It is possible to use the scroll bar to use the zoom function in the plot
drawing.
Campbell Diagram
A new function has been added for plotting the transient Campbell
diagram. This function is performed automatically the STFT(short
time Fourier transformation) process using time domain data and
plots the Campbell diagram on the plotting window.
This Campbell diagram function will be much helpful for the system
engineer who wants to analyze a rotor dynamic system using
dynamic analysis data.
Body Color
RecurDyn supports 300 colors of body. The colors are applied randomly.
This function will be set in Display setting.

Upgraded Functions

Solid Contact
The contact force calculation algorithm has been improved by
evaluating more accurate contact plane and contact point.
N-R type of a static analysis
The Auto Convergence Factor option has been added in the N-R type
of a static analysis. So, it does not need to consider Convergence
Factor when performing the static analysis.
Export Data in Plot
The head style of the exported txt data from Plot was different from
the data style. A space has been added to the data, so the header and
the data come into pieces when importing the txt data file to Excel.
Shortcuts about Working Plane Change
Shortcuts have been created for all components in Working Plane
Change. And, Shortcuts have been added for "Change to YX", "Change
to ZY", "Change to XZ" in Working Plane Change (Axis).
Changing the default of joint creation method

The default option of creation method for Joint, Force, Connector is


changed from the point selection method (Point) to the body selection
method (Body, Body, Point).
Importing files
The multi-selection is available to the File Import dialog. So, it is useful
to import lots of cad file.
Setting of Layer number about Ground
The user can define the layer number of Ground body. Until V8R1, the
Ground body has no layer number.
Selecting all PPs and PVs for DP
The Check All button has been added to change the DP state of all PPs
and PVs.
Changing the size of Deleting Unused Markers dialog
The Deleting Unused Markers dialog has been changed to the resizable
dialog and the default size is increased.
Changing the size of Select Box dialog
The size of select box dialog is increased. So, it is easy to know the
selected entity.
Renewing the Icon Setting dialog
The Icon on/off and Icon/Marker size dialogs have been integrated.
And the item state of dialog is applied in real-time without clicking the
Apply button in the dialog.
Drag and Drop from Database of Plot to ProcessNet dialog
It is possible to drag and drop components in the Database of Plot to
the ProcessNet dialog.
Language Selecting Tool
The Language Selecting Tool can change the language without an
administrative right.
3 dimensional spline
The 3 dimensional spline has been supported in Spline.
New Format for road data
New format is available to create road data. It is easy to create with
user's own road data.
Batch Simulation
Two commands have been added.
/MatchSolvingStepsize [on/off]: Flags to use the Match Solving
Stepsize with Report Step option that is supported at the
Dynamic/Kinematic analysis.
/ran [on/off]: Flags to create the RecurDyn Solver-Generated
Animation file
Force Display Setting
The accessibility has been improved by adding the Force Display
setting to the Animation Control group in the ribbon. The setting is
directly applied without applying the OK button or the Apply button.
Gravity Setting dialog
The parametric value can be used in Gravity Setting dialog. So, it is
useful to control gravity.
The point of recovering strain and stress

Recover strain/stress data is generated on the end of simulation. If the


simulation is paused in the mid of analysis, the stress and strain can
be viewed by the contour.
Graphic Quality up
The user can improve the graphic quality for each body by using the
Advanced Graphic Quality option than using the basic Graphic Quality
option. This function is supported in the Properties of Body dialog box.
Stress/Strain Expression
The 4th factor has been added to set Top/Bottom in the Stress/Strain
expression. If the factor is not inputted, Top is used as the default
option. The use of the factor is followed by Flexibility Setting to V8R1.
So, if the user uses V8R1 model, the result will be changed to Top
regardless to Flexibility Setting because the 4th factor is not inputted.
(17746) Rotational CMotion Constraints
The stability of rotational CMotion constraints has been improved by
changing the algorithm used to compute the Euler angles.
(19011) Use small data processing in Plot
The Use small data processing option was added as default and current
setting in Plot. It is possible to fit the small plot data which are less
than 10e-5.
(19138) Default light Setting
The default light setting was changed to represent more realistically in
Shade Mode. This setting is applied to new created bodies in V8R2. In
case of models created in the previous version, the user uses the Get
Default function in Light Setting after opening the model.

Fixed Problems

(15804) The time integrator has been improved in order to consider


the solid contact's maximum step size factor correctly.
(17114) The definition of the damping ratio has been added in
Eigenvalue analysis report of the OUT file. The damping ratio of the
Eigenvalue analysis is defined as a damping relating to the critical
damping (=C/C_critical).
(17601) The eigen values and eigen vectors have not been written in
the OUT file when simulating the Dynamic analysis with the Eigenvalue
analysis.
(18651) Some mode IDs in the OUT file have been written in "***"
when the mode ID is more than 999 after performing the eigenvalue
analysis.
(18811) The contact force result of the Sphere to Arc Revolution
contact was not stable for a bearing or CV-joint modeling.
(18343) The static analysis was incorrectly performed. In the static
analysis, the error tolerance of the dynamic analysis (default = 5e-3)
was used instead of the error tolerance of the static analysis (default =
1e-3). But, the iteration for the static analysis can be increased in

V8R2 because the default error tolerance for static is lower than the
error tolerance of the dynamic analysis.
(18427) In V8R1, the friction force was opposite when inputting the
spline friction force in the case of the Circle to Curve Contact and the
Curve to Curve Contact.
(17813) The analysis was failed if an analysis was performed when the
PTCV was defined by the Request after using a PTCV by the Motion
function in Expression. Also, the Expression was incorrectly displayed in
a scope.
(18337, 18424) Zero was always outputted because the value of
friction coefficient was not calculated when using the USUB as contact
force.
The result was not correct if the component was S1 when using the
SheetShell as the entity of the Stress function in Expression.
(18340) In case of PTCV, the orientation of base marker using floating
marker was always fixed as the inertia marker to V8R1. But, the x axis
is the axis direction of the curve and the y axis is the normal direction
of the curve in V8R2.
(18114) The geometry file in the Parasolid format (x_t, x_b) has not
been exported if the file name's character number is more than 60
except the extension. The enabled number of character is up to 256.
(18185) When the rss file had a multi-byte character, the batch process
was not executed from the file. In V8R2, the batch process is executed
if the user performs an analysis after re-creating the rss file. Also, the
batch process is executed if the encoding should set to UTF-8 when
using the rss file created in the previous version.
(14832) A distortion occurred because of the difference between the
screen ratio and the aspect ratio of the resolution in the animation
movie created by Plot. The view part of GUI has been modified to cut
by the aspect ratio for the long part of the screen and the view part of
Plot has been adjusted to create some distortion.
(18623) The output value was correctly outputted in the rpi file if the
dynamic analysis was only performed using the scenario analysis. But,
the output value was not outputted if the static analysis or another
analysis with the dynamic analysis was performed using the scenario
analysis.
(14778) The name of joint in the subsystem was Dummy Joint when
checking the state variable the after calculating the state matrix by the
model with a subsystem. But, the correct name of the joint is displayed
in V8R2.
(18082) RecurDyn was crashed when performing an analysis using the
USUB of Differential Equation and Variable Equation if the number of

user parameter is more than 31.


(18377) When the user inputted the value of end time as more than
six-digit of significant figures, the dynamic analysis was performed up
to the end time of six-digit of significant figures actually. In V8R2, it is
possible to use up to fifteen-digit of significant figures.
(17999) Importing a spline or an outline with Little-Endian encoding
failed.
(18420) The input window of Reference Frame was not activated
correctly depending on the component in Entity Scope. All entity has
been fixed by synchronizing with plot.
(18643) A position of contact point was incorrect in the outward case
of the Sphere to Arc Extrusion contact. So, the contact force and force
display were incorrect.
(19314) When the value of Start Arc Angle was set as a negative value,
the contact force was not generated in the Sphere to Arc Revolution
contact.

Known Problems

(19023) RecurDyn is crashed when clicking the Draw button in all


dialogs that Draw function exists in Windows 8.
RecurDyn needs to install .NetFramework 2.0 to use ProcessNet. The
installer for RecurDyn cannot install .NetFramework 2.0 automatically
in Windows 8. So, the user has to install .NetFramework 3.5 before
installing RecurDyn in Windows 8.

Getting a list of names for drawing in Plot


This ProcessNet Function offers a list of names, so the users can use it
in
the
plot
drawing

ProcessNet:

DOE Analysis
The interfaces to set Design study variables for the DOE analysis have
been added.
Adding collection functions for IMTT2D
The collections for IMTT2D entities as Fixed Roller, Movable Roller,
Group Sheet, Nodal Force, Contact Sheet to Sheet, and Guide have
been added.

The output results of the principal strain/stress and intensity
strain/stress for Beam Belt and Shell Belt have been included in a plot
result.

(16254) Considering the recovery point in the BeamBelt


The stress recovery was performed by considering the recovery point
in the beambelt. It was calculated in the neutral axis to V8R1.

Fixed Problems

(17907) (18462) The sensing value is not measured in spite of the belt
in the sensor range.
(17447) The behavior of the shellbelt was changed by the unit system
if the dynamic analysis was performed because the value of Drilling
Stiffness Factor in the shell element was always fixed. But, the level is
specified as L^2 in the dialog and the default value is 1 in the unit
system of mm in V8R2. So, the value is changed by the unit system.

RecurDyn/Bearing
Fixed Problems

(16518) The bearing was fixed in the place and the beam force was
only moved when performing the Object Control function for the base
body of a bearing.

RecurDyn/CoLink
New Functions

CoLink block control


The relation line is automatically connected between the blocks by
clicking the block for connection with the Ctrl key.
The Add In/Out function is added to the right mouse menu in the
Subsystem block. It is possible to add the Input and Output blocks.
CoLink Toolbar (Align Toolbar)
Align Toolbar has been added in the CoLink layout to arrange the
blocks.
CoSim block
The function of CoSim block is added to co-simulating with User
Program. This block supports only User Program Host Mode.

Analysis in the Subsystem block


The analysis can be performed if there is no Input and Output blocks in
the Subsystem block.
Ch Function block
The function of Ch Function block has been improved to receive not
only the scalar input but also the vector input.
RecurDyn block
The property dialog of RecurDyn block supports the list of Plane Inputs
and Plant Outputs defined in RecurDyn.
Renewing CoLink Layout
The CoLink layout has been changed to new ribbon styles like
RecurDyn.
Mux and Demux block
The selection functionality of Mux and Demux block has been improved

Fixed Problems

The branch line of moving block was disconnected when moving a


block.

RecurDyn/Control
Upgraded Functions

Co-simulation with User Program


The user does not have to close RecurDyn model when co-simulating
in User Program Host Mode. If using this function, the user have to use
new library files provided at V8R2.

Fixed Problems

(18736) In the case of the co-simulation, the maximum time step was
not changed when performing the simulation using Batch if the
maximum time step is larger than the sampling period.

CCMAV
The Torque Control for Constant Mean Angular Velocity of a crankshaft option has been added.

Fixed Problems

(18187) When the Engine Type is Horizontal, the firing timing in


simulation is different from the firing angle in Cylinder Layout dialog.

RecurDyn/Durability
New Functions

Supported to the RFlex Body


RecurDyn/Durability has been extended to include RFlex. Previously, in
V8R1, RecurDyn/Durability only supported FFlex. In order to use
Durability analysis with an RFlex body, a Patch Set or an Element Set
must be defined for the RFlex body in Body Edit Mode.

Upgraded Functions

Safety factor about the compressive stress


When calculating the safety factor by using the Goodman method in
case of the compressive stress result, it is possible to reasonably
consider in this case. Until V8R1, the results of safety factor about the
compressive stress have dealt with just the tensile stress results.

Fixed Problems

(17948) RecurDyn was crashed when the durability analysis was


performed in the assembly mode. But, the current system with the
subordinate subsystem is considered in V8R2.

CCMAV
The Torque Control for Constant Mean Angular Velocity of a crankshaft option has been added.

RecurDyn/eTemplate
RecurDyn/eTemplate is an automation tool that allows RecurDyn to be
controlled by specially-formatted Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. This allows
Excel spreadsheets to be used to store the data to completely define models.
All data required to define a model can be placed in the Excel spreadsheet.
Using the power in Excel to manipulate data, eTemplate enables users to
create very sophisticated and powerful tools to customize RecurDyn to
improve their workflow and their data management.

RecurDyn/FFlex
New Functions

Plastic Material
The plastic materials are a J2 plasticity model (also known as a Von
Mises plasticity model) which is strain-rate independent. The plastic
materials can be used with Solid8 and Shell4 elements in FFlex bodies.
The plastic materials make to consider the permanent deformation
caused by the load over the yield stress. In addition, two kinds of work
hardening are modeled in RecurDyns plastic materials such as the
isotropic hardening and the kinematic hardening.
FFlex Regenerator
The user can see the contour display of shell top/bottom without
repeating the simulation.
Contour Display with respect to user-defined marker has been
improved.
Display Output File Generating Time
The duration time of the generating FFlex output file (erd, srd) is
displayed in Output Window.
Render Feature Line Only
The Render Feature Line Only function has been added in the Display
option in FFlex edit mode. This function removes all mesh lines, but
displays the Feature line, Node set, Patch set, Element set, B.C, and
Output.

Upgraded Functions

Stress Recovery
The stress recovery routine has been upgraded. So, the result may be
changed. Additionally, the multi thread computing has been applied to
improve the speed for the large size.
Outputting Stress/Strain of Shell element
In the case of shell element, the result of top and bottom about
Strain/Stress outputs both in a plot result. Until V8R1, the result of top
or bottom about Strain/Stress outputs depending on the Flexibility
Setting.
Selecting and deleting FDR element
The function has been improved to select and to delete the FDRs
generated in FFlex or the FDRs of imported FFlex body. Until V8R1, the
inconvenience method was used to operate the FDRs. But, it is easy to
select and delete the FDRs by the mouse operation in Database
window.
Automatic Outputs for Markers
When applying Joints and Forces to a flexible body, the Output nodes
in the FFlex edit mode should be defined to check the results of
neighboring node about the markers of Joints and Forces. The
inconvenience method was used to define the output nodes once more
after the simulation if the user didn't set these outputs. In V8R2, the
adjacent output nodes of makers in entities such as Joints and forces
are automatically defined using Automatic Outputs for Markers option
in Flexibility Setting.
Creating Output nodes
Until V8R1, it was possible to select only node type when defining the
outputs. However, if the output was defined to the FE sets such as
patch set, node set, element set and the boundary condition, it would
be inconvenient to define each node output. So, the definition method
of Outputs for the FE sets to support by directly selecting the FE sets
has been improved.
Selecting components of Stress/Strain for creating output file
Until V8R1, all components of Stress/Strain were created at the erd
and srd file. So, the size of files was big. In V8R2, only some
components user wanted are created at the erd and srd file.
Import dialog
The user can import FFlex data at the reference frame of geometry.
Creating Patch Set
It is possible to create patch set by selecting a node set. The patch set
is defined patches of the selected node set.
Creating Node Set
It is possible to create node set by selecting a patch set or an element
set. The node set is defined all nodes of the selected set.
The time of the Stress Recovery
The time of the stress recovery and the strain recovery was decided by
the every step and the end of simulation in V8R1. But, the time of the
recovery is always decided by the end of simulation in V8R2.

(18223) Cylinder To FSurface contact


The calculation algorithm of the contact force has been improved for
the contact between the cylinder side face and the flexible surface.
(18126) Flexible contact for the 4-node type patch contact
The contact search algorithm has been improved for the 4-node type's
patch contact.

(16902) FFLEX Extract Function Improvement
The extract function for FFlex has been improved. If the user creates
the extracted model in V8R1 or previous version, that model can have
a problem because the result of V8R1 or previous version was not
reasonable. In this case, the user needs to re-create the extracted
model or needs to correctly modify the joint and force in V8R2.

Fixed Problems

The Use Large Rotation option in has been removed by improving


performance of Flex.
(17324) When deactivating a FFlex Body in Scenario analysis, the
reaction force of Joint connected to the FFlex Body was incorrect.
(17648) RecurDyn was crashed when performing an analysis after
inputting the material properties such as mass and inertia moment to
below 1e-020. But, an error occurs if the material properties are
inputted to below 1e-015 in V8R2.
(17447) The behavior of the FFlex body was changed by the unit
system if the dynamic analysis was performed because the value of
Drilling Stiffness Factor in the shell element was always fixed. But, the
level is specified as L^2 in the dialog and the default value is 1 in the
unit system of mm in V8R2. So, the value is changed by the unit
system.

Fixed Problems

(18314) RecurDyn was crashed when a model with many GearContacts


(Cur-Cur) was performed.

Co-simulation "fmu" can be imported and simulated.

RecurDyn/Mesher
New Functions

Local Remesh
The Local Remesh function allows to remesh the results from
RecurDyn/Mesher by changing the element size parameter of the
specific faces by the user. Especially, when checking the stress/strain
results in the coarse mesh region, it is necessary to change the coarse
mesh to the fine mesh if the user wants to get more accurate the
stress/strain results.
Advnaced Mesh
Advanced Mesh is another auto mesher to make the mesh of CAD
Geometry automatically like Mesh. The existing Mesh has the re-mesh
concept so that it can use the graphic tessellation date which is the
first mesh results from a CAD geometry. So, this mesh uses the CAD
geometry indirectly and there is low failure to generate the mesh data.
On the contrary, it is possible to generate mesh date with a relatively
small number of nodes and the higher quality mesh results because
the Advanced Mesh uses the CAD geometry directly. In addition, it is
possible to implement the similar mesh results from the traditional
Mapped Mesher that is usually supported in the FE software although
this mesh cant perform the general mapped mesh concept.

Assist Modeling
Until V8R1, it was possible to select just one surface data when
applying Assist Modeling in order to make the FDR element
automatically. Now it is possible to select multi-surfaces by the new
button.

RecurDyn/MTT2D
New Functions

FE Roller
Flexible fixed and movable rollers are developed. The flexible rollers
are modeled with the Shell4 and RBE.
Tension Sensor
The tension sensor has been added in MTT2D. (Output is Tension)

Upgraded Functions

Selecting the entity for sensing


(15449) The sensor of MTT2D is possible to select the entity. So, it is
possible to sense about only the selected entity.
Attack Angle about a head and tail of Sheet in Plot
The values of attack angle about a head and tail of sheet have been
included in a plot result. And, it is applied to arc guide, linear guide.
Until V8R1, only the values of attack angle about a head of sheet
outputs in a plot result.
Air Resistance force in Plot
The output results of air resistance force at each node for MTT2D have
been included in a plot result.
Guide Velocity
The expression type has been added to the guide velocity for the arc
guide, linear guide, and Pguide edge in MTT2D.
Hold down the noise of sheet contact forces
The option for reducing contact noise between sheet and other entities
is set as the default option from V8R2. The option named Hold down
the noise of sheet contact forces is in the SheetGroup dialog box.

Fixed Problems

(18558) In the case of a pairs of rigid rollers and sheet contact, when
the option for reducing contact noise between sheet and another
entities was set, the speed of the simulation was slow.
(18361) The color was changed to the grey color when opening the
model created in V7. But, the existing color has been kept in V8R2
when opening the model created in V7.
(16856) The position of Linear Guide was not changed as following the
orientation of mother body.
(18186) The wrong information was included in MTT2D model when
importing after exporting the rdp file for a MTT2D model used to PVs
such as Density, Young's Modulus, Damping Ratio and Sheet Curl
Radius in the assembly mode.

(18532) The analysis was failed if an analysis was performed a model


that the initial velocity and the air resistance coefficient was applied at
the same time.

Tension Sensor
The tension sensor has been added in MTT2D. (Output is Stress)

Distance Sensor
(15445) The sheet can be used to measure the distance of the outer
line when moving the depth direction of sheet.
Selecting the entity for sensing
(15449) The sensor of MTT3D is possible to select the entity. So, it is
possible to sense about only the selected entity.
Principal stress and intensity stress in Plot
The output results of the principal strain/stress and intensity
strain/stress for Sheet Shell have been included in a plot result.
Air Resistance force in Plot
The output results of air resistance force at each node for MTT3D have
been included in a plot result.

Fixed Problems

(18283) The value of the boundary position was not correctly used
when the ShellSheet is curved.
(18347) The Align Sheet function did not work correctly.
(17447) The behavior of the ShellSheet was changed by the unit
system if the dynamic analysis was performed because the value of
Drilling Stiffness Factor in the shell element was always fixed. But, the
level is specified as L^2 in the dialog and the default value is 1 in the
unit system of mm in V8R2. So, the value is changed by the unit
system.

RecurDyn/Particles
RecurDyn/Particles allows a MBD system with a lot of parties with micrometer
size to analysis in the RecurDyn platform. In order to simulate the particle
systems, a discrete element method (DEM) should be applied. In addition,
GPU can boost the calculation speed of parallel programming, and GPU makes
DEM for applying to the granular and discontinuous materials easily, especially
in granular flows, powder mechanics, and rock mechanics.
And then, RecurDyn/Particles supports to make lots of particles easily by the
click button. Besides, it is possible to perform all procedures such as preprocessing, simulation and post-processing in the RecurDyn platform.

RecurDyn/Particleworks
The fluid analysis noted as the limit of simulation and the particles with
viscosity are provided by an analysis for a number of spheres.

viscosity are provided by an analysis for a number of spheres.
When the particles apply a force to a body, the reaction force and torque are
generated and a dynamic system formed from them can move the body. The
moving-particle semi-implicit (MPS) method is a computational method for the
simulation of incompressible free surface flows. It is a macroscopic,
deterministic particle method (Lagrangian meshfree method) developed by
Koshizuka and Oka (1996). The MPS method is similar to the SPH (SmoothedParticle Hydrodynamics) method (Gingold and Monaghan, 1977; Lucy, 1977)
in both methods which provide approximations to the strong form of the
partial differential equations (PDEs) on the basis of integral interpolate.
However, the MPS method is applied to the simplified differential operator
models solely based on a local weighted averaging process without taking the
gradient of the kernel function. In addition, the solution process of MPS
method obtained by a semi-implicit prediction-correction process differs to
that of the original SPH method.

(16925) Update RFI file
RFI Optimizer has a new type named Update RFI file. The new type
has two functions which are to reduce the file size and to change the
RFI file format.
Supporting MSC Nastran 2011
RecurDyn supports up to the MSC Nastran 2011 version.
Supporting Ansys 14.5
RecurDyn supports up to the Ansys 14.5 version.
RFlex output
The user can create a Scope Entity about RFlex outputs.
Speed up for RFlex models
In case of RFlex models that have RFlex bodies included lots of mode,
the solving speed is faster than the previous version of RecurDyn.
Selecting components of Stress/Strain for creating output file
Until V8R1, all components of Stress/Strain were created at the erd
and srd file. So, the size of files was big. In V8R2, only some
components user wanted are created at the erd and srd file. This
function is Output File Option, and it is added in Flexibility Setting and
FFlex Regenerator dialog.

Fixed Problems

The Dynamic Correction Mode function has been removed by using the
CMS file.
The stress and the strain could not be displayed without the erd, srd
files in Contour. The displacement could be displayed without the rfa
file in Contour.
(18506) (18843) Beam group was displayed different position in
animation after performing an analysis if the beam group exists in the
subsystem.
(16442) In the case of Plane2 element of Ansys, the Remove Mid-Node
Related Information option was not applied.

RecurDyn/Tire
New Functions

General Tire
RecurDyn supports a general Tire toolkit. The GTire(General Tire)
toolkit supports MFTire and RecurDyn Tire.

New Functions

Support Track Flexible Link


It is available to change one more Track Link bodies as Flexible bodies.
Support CAD Geometries in Track LM
RecurDyn is now able to create the Track (LM) system with the user's
CAD geometry (Sprocket, Flanges, Link)
Pin- Bushing Geometry Position
The left and right pins of the track(LM) link can be selected to calculate
more accurate friction force of the sprocket with the link pin.
(11969) Contact output file
The contact points between the track-link and the sprocket are
outputted as a file. The Contact output file option is supported in the
Sprocket dialog box.

Multi Properties about Ground


It is possible to apply multi properties about Ground with the Track To
Surface contact in the Track system.

Fixed Problems

(18335) The Friction force of Track Road contact has been improved in
order to consider the static friction correctly.
(18422) The speed of the model is lower by the track to surface
contact than the contact between the link and the ground in a track
model with the same condition. Because the logic for updating the
patch information in V8R2 has optimized, the speed of the model is
faster than the previous version. But, the speed can be lower than the
contact between the link and the ground because the track to surface
contact is needed to update the location information of road at every
step.
(17188) When the contact force is generated between the track-link
pin and the sprocket, the contact point was not considered correctly. In
V8R1, the contact point was defined in the track-link pin's center. In

particular, when the friction force is calculated, the relative velocity in


the contact position can have a large error. So, the contact point is
correctly defined in V8R2. The contact point will be on the sprocket
surface and this will generate the correct friction force.
(18139) The contact between the track link and the roller flange was
not correct. The length of link was not considered.
(18259) In case of the partial search contact between the sprocket and
link, RecurDyn was crashed when performing an analysis for the model
that the contact did not occurred at the start time.
