Installation Procedure
[1] Remove the covers.
The following items are to be removed.
- 1000002608 COVER,INK CARTRIDGE VP-540
- 1000002550 COVER,MAINTENANCE INKHEAD VP-540
- 1000002620 COVER,MAINTENANCE VP-540
- 1000002619 COVER,SIDE L VP-540
- 1000002549 FRAME,SUPPORT AUTO CUTTER VP-540
[CAUTION] When removing FRAME,SUPPORT AUTO CUTTER VP-540, make sure to
disconnect the cable from CN402 on the FEED MOTOR BOARD.

[2] Fix the SW to the Stay(Left).

Remove the plate from the Stay(Left) and replace it with the Plate For SW, then fix the SW.
Reuse the screws fixing the plate.
* The removed plate is no longer necessary.

[3] Loosely fix the Cap Screws to the Stays(Left, Right).

Loosely fix the Cap Screw to the Stay considering the screw tip not to come out through the hole.

[4] Attach the Stay(Left).

Fit the groove of the Stay(Left) and slide it to the left edge.
Flip down the Stay and tighten the Cap Screw temporarily.
* Put the SW cable between COVER,RAIL F VP-540(300) and FRAME,FEED MOTOR VP-540.

[5] Attach the Stay(Right).

Fit the groove of the Stay(Right) and slide it to the right edge.
Flip down the Stay and tighten the Cap Screw temporarily.
* Make sure to hold the Stay(Right) on SUPPORT,FRAME R VP-540 when fixing it.
That is the base position where it is held on SUPPORT,FRAME R VP-540.
Work carefully when fixing it because it moves away from SUPPORT,FRAME R VP-540
unless it is held on. Also, push the Stay(Right) to COVER,RAIL F VP-540(300) when fixing it.

[6] Set the Front Cover to the Stay.

Set the right side first. As for the left side, slide the Stay(Left) to insert the pin. Hold the
Stay(Left) on the Front Cover when fixing it. Also, push the Stay(Left) to
COVER,RAIL F VP-540(300) when fixing it.
* Never loosen the screw that fixes the pin.

Slide the Stay(Left)

[7] Fix the HOOK INT SW.

Fix HOOK INT SW to the Front Cover temporarily and fix it fully aligning it with the SW.
* Make sure that the hook of HOOK INT SW comes to the center of SW notch when fixing it.

[8] Connect the cable for the SW.

Fix the Cable Clamp and arrange the cable as shown in the picture, and connect
the cable to CN403 of FEED MOTOR BOARD.

[9] Upgrade the Firmware. (Version 1.70 and above)

[10] Set "1" for the Bit1 (the rightmost) on the System Switch PAGE16.

[11] Turn off the sub power and turn it on again.

[12] Perform the Sensor Check.

The [C] on the rightmost is for the Front Cover. [C] is not displayed without the setting of
the step [10].

[13] Fix the Covers back on.

[CAUTION] Make sure to connect the cable of FRAME,SUPPORT AUTO CUTTER VP-540 to
CN402 of FEED MOTOR BOARD.

[14] Put the Label to the lower right of the Front Cover.
