FIRST DRAFT SCRIPT

TRAILER FOR CLASS

INT. ST ANTOINETTES
CLOSE UP: school bell ringing.
INT. EASTWOOD HIGH
CLOSE UP: school bell ringing.

These shots need to be edited so

they appear on the screen at the
same time in a split screen style to
emphasise the difference between
the schools and avoid boring
repetition

INT. ST ANTOINETTES: CORRIDOR

Close up of Oscars feet stepping out of classroom. He is wearing smart, polished shoes.
INT. EASTWOOD HIGH: CORRIDOR
Close up of Chelseas feet stumbling out of classroom. She is wearing stilettos and fishnet tights.
INT. EASTWOOD HIGH: HEADTEACHERS OFFICE
Mr Hall sits at his desk reading a magazine with his feet up on the desk. He heres a knock at the
door and looks up. Chelsea is standing in the doorway, leaning against the door and smirking.
CHELSEA:
(sarcastically) Working hard, are we sir?.
Mr Hall laughs and looks back at his magazine.
MR HALL:
Welcome back, Mikala.
Chelsea smirks and turns around.

The dialogue here is trying to

portray his laziness too obviously.
Chelsea should shout morning sir
as she passes and Mr Hall should
merely grunt to show his lack of
care for his job

INT. EASTWOOD HIGH: CORRIDOR.

Chelsea continues walking down the corridor. She passes the stairs as Matt is running down them
hastily. He jumps in front of her. A teachers voice is heard shouting from the top of the stairs.
TEACHER:
(angry) Come back here! Im warning you!
Chelsea and Matt grin at each other.

Descriptions of the characters

costume and appearance are
needed throughout

MATT:
RUN!
Chelsea and Matt run down the corridor laughing.
(Continued)

EXT. EASTWOOD HIGH: OUTSIDE ENTRANCE TO CORRIDOR.

Shay checks his watch and looks around expectantly. Chelsea and Matt suddenly burst through the
door, knocking into Shay. They all laugh.
This would be a good place to cut to
the action at St Antoinettes; one of
the students could burst out of a
door. We could use trick action
match to make the cuts seem
smooth

SHAY:
I was looking for you two!
CHELSEA:
Come on then!
EXT. EASTWOOD HIGH: CAR PARK

Chelsea, Matt and Shay walk through the car park. A car, blaring loud pop music, nearly hits the 3
students as it drives into the car park. They jump back. Mikaila steps out of the car and blows the
driver a kiss, who drives away. The students roll their eyes and carry on walking. She flicks her hair
and runs after them, stumbling in her high heels.
Use car for another action match to
MIKAILA:
cut to St Antoinettes
wait for me!
The four students reach the exit of the car park and walk down an alleyway running down the side of
the main hall. They reach the smoking area.
EXT. EASTWOOD HIGH: SMOKING AREA
Wayne smokes a cigarette in the smoking area. He grins when he sees the students, throws his
cigarette on the ground and joins the group.
More characters need to enter the trailer together to cut
down on time could shay and mikaila be siblings and
WAYNE:
drive in together?
(excitedly) ready?
All 5 of the students push open the gate that reveals a pathway behind the school.
EXT. SAINT ANTOINETTES
Establishing shot of the college grounds.

Oscar will be introduced by walking

through a door to intercut using
match on action (see above)

EXT. SAINT ANOTINETTES QUAD 1 (communal area)

Oscar leans against a pillar looking at photos of Chelsea on his phone. His name is called and he
looks up to see his girlfriend, Nancy, sitting across the quad, waving at him keenly. He walks over to
her and she jumps up and hugs him excitedly.
OSCAR
(awkwardly) Well We better be going then
The pair walk across the quad. Nancy clings to Oscars arm, who looks uncomfortable. They enter a
door leading to an inside corridor.

The name Nancy needs to be

changed as it is a stereotypical
working class name

(Continued)

INT. SAINT ANTOINETTES CORRIDOR

The introduction of Mr Line should be included at

the same time as the other headteacher in a splitscreen style to clearly represent the differences
between them

Oscar and Nancy walk through the corridor and pass their head teacher, Mr Line, who is speaking on
the phone quietly. They exchange polite nods as they pass.
MR LINE:
This will be his last year, Im telling you. Then that school is mine.
Elizabeth and Sophie appear as they exit an adjacent corridor to join Oscar and Nancy. Sophie and
Elizabeth are arguing.
SOPHIE:
(nervously) I have an awful feeling about this!

Intercut between the schools using action

match when they turn around corners

ELIZABETH:
(rolling her eyes) Oh do be quiet!
The four students exit the corridor and step outside.
Dont need to include details on shot types
EXT. ST ANTOINETTES: CAR PARK
The four students walk across the car park towards the woods. CLOSE-UP: Christopher is standing
across the car park at the top of the steps, looking at himself conspicuously in a compact mirror. He
turns, sees his friends and hastily stuffs the mirror into his pocket. The four students reach him and
he joins the group.
CHRISTOPHER:
(nervously) Ready?
CLOSE-UP: St Antoinette 5 students feet walking slowly and carefully down the steps.
EXT. EASTWOOD HIGH: PATHWAY BEHIND SCHOOL
MEDIUM CLOSE UP: Eastwood High 5 students feet running down the path
EXT. ST ANTOINETTES: WOODLANDS

Use ellipsis to represent how far they have run

St Antoinette 5 students continue walking sophisticatedly through the woodlands. They look fearful
but determined. They walk into the meadow.
EXT. EASTWOOD HIGH: PATHWAY BEHIND SCHOOL
Eastwood High 5 students run hastily over the railway bridge and down an alley, turning into the
entrance of the meadow. They laugh the whole way, playfully pushing and shoving each other.
EXT. MEADOW
The two groups meet. EXTREME CLOSE-UP: All 10 students eyes. LONG SHOT: The two groups of
students stand facing each other, eyeing each other up.
Consider possibility of changing narrative of ending to resolve the issue of
making two fields look like they are the same one. Can the characters be put
into a situation where they have to be in the same place even though they
dont want to be (maybe a bus stop)?
