Roles and Responsibilities of Reliability Engineer
1. Participating in safety programs & ensuring safe work environment is
present via BOAST, EHSS meetings, Safety walks, Safety audits etc. 2. Responsible for maintaining Units reliability data base which includes all the Reliability events, their contribution in terms of production and cost. 3. Responsible for collecting, analyzing and generating KPIs on monthly basis. Each KPI shall be shared with the respective discipline engineer and the compiled report with Production Manager. 4. Play key role in driving Root Cause Analysis and ensure compliance with SADAF RCA methodology and the quality of the outcome. Should also be ready to act as a facilitator of the RCA investigation process. 5. Responsible for tracking and following up reliability recommendations from:
a. Production loss incident RCAs
b. Bad Actor study investigations c. Negative trending or below target Reliability KPIs d. Units Reliability threats e. SRRP RCA Knowledge silo 6. Responsible for conducting Defect Elimination meeting wherein the bad actor study is assigned to discipline engineers. This also includes tracking and follow-up of investigation studies. 7. Play key role in delivering reliability study using reliability engineering principles (growth, data analysis, RCM, RCA, spare part analysis and PM optimization, etc.) through Meridium. 8. Play key role in driving the Units reliability business plan. 9. Facilitate Production Team conducting sample quality check for equipment criticality assessment. 10.Facilitate Production teams to be more effective in using the various reliability systems and tools. 11.Facilitate the development of the site reliability performance indicators at different levels and set targets. Align them with MCEs.
12.Are subject-matter-experts in RBI, RCM, RIS, and Defect
elimination/RCA.
a. Ensure effectiveness and good use of these tools.
b. Maintain and share KPI with relevant parties to review performance/effectiveness.
c. Play an assurance role for effective incorporation of the
recommendations into the execution processes (T/A, BM, MS, Capital Projects, etc).
d. Generate KPI and use to ensure the effective of living processes
13.Engage with front line to test for reliability barriers and identify latent problems. 14.Promote a culture of threat-identification, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis behaviors. 15.Conduct / promote / facilitate the use of reliability engineering analysis to support investment decisions, bad actor elimination and threat mitigation. 16.Develop and implement improvements, best practices and LFI related to reliability. Ensure that these are integrated into the existing work practices and management systems. 17.Ensure the output of the reliability tools are incorporated unchallenged in the T/A scope. Also, play an active role in ensuring learning from T/A are captured and addressed.
