Download guides from the support website according to the following table, and read
them thoroughly before the swapping.
Guide
Used to
Install the latest BSC32-to-BSC6000 data upgrade tool on the local PC. The data
upgrade tool is named BSC32ToBSC6000DataUpgradeTool(for
BSC6000V900R008C12). You can download it from the following website:
http://support.huawei.com/support/pages/editionctrl/catalog/ShowVersionDetail.do?
actionFlag=clickNode&p_line=&node=000001401614&colID=ROOTWEB|

Install the BSC6900 PC OMU software on the PC and run it on trial according to section
3.1, section 3.2, and section 3.4 in the BSC6900 PC OMU Operation Guide (Internal
Use).
Install the matching CME in standalone mode of the BSC6900 V900R011 on the PC
according to the CME V200R009XXX Installation Guide (Windows standalone mode),
where, V200R009XXX is a CME version matching the BSC6900.
Install and debug the software and hardware of BSC6900 V900R011C00 according to
"Scenario: Creating a BSC6900 NE" in the BSC6900 GSM OMU Administration
Guide. This step is excluded in this guide.
2.
3.
Enter the external IP address of the created BSC6900 in the IE address bar on the PC,
and connect to the BSC6900.
4.
Copy the following command to the command input window, and run the command to
save the data of the created BSC690 as a BCP file. The BCP file is stored in [omu
rootpath]\mbsc\bam\version_a\ftp\ExportCMESyncView,
and
is
named
CMECfgSyncView.zip in compressed mode. In the path, [omu rootpath] indicates the
root directory for installing the software of the BSC6900.
EXP CFGSYNFILE: FT=BCP;
5.
To differentiate the compressed BCP file from the data packet of the source BSC, you are
advised to rename the compressed BCP file BSC6900CMECfgSyncView.zip.

Step 2 Log out of the LMT of the old version, and then log in to the LMT of
BSC6000V900R008C12B195 offline. Choose Configuration > Open Local Data File. In
the displayed Open dialog box, open the file mentioned in Step 1. A dialog box is displayed
(taking the upgrade of the data configuration file of the BSC6000V900R001C01 as an
example), as shown in the following figure.
Step 3 Click Yes, and wait till an Information dialog box indicating Upgrade Success is displayed,
as shown in the following figure.
Issue 01 (2009-04-30)
Parameter 2: -d ./BSC6000Data.dat, indicating the name of the data file of the original
version.
Parameter 3: -c, indicating that the upgrade rule file of a specific version instead of the
default rules is used.
Parameter 4: -r
./upgrade_rule/UPD_RULE_V900R008C12B195_V900R011C00SPC700_COMMON.x
ml, indicating the used upgrade rule file.
Parameter 5: -m
./upgrade_rule/MITCOMBINEDCLASSDEF_V900R008C12B195.xmL, indicating the
class definition file of the original BSC6000 version.
Parameter 7:--omu_type=OMUa, indicating the OMU type. If the current OMU type is
OMUb, set this parameter to OMUb. If the current OMU type is GBAM, set this
parameter to PCServer.
Parameter 8: --main_omu_slot=21, indicating the slot number of the active OMU. Set
this parameter according to the actual slot.
Parameter 9: --peer_omu_slot=23, indicating the slot number of the standby OMU. Set
this parameter according to the actual slot. Delete this parameter if no standby OMU is
configured.
Issue 01 (2009-04-30)
Parameter 10: --pre_check, indicating that the data correctness check is performed.
The command line involved in this guide is just an example and is based on the following
assumptions:
The data configuration file of the original BSC6000 is named BSC6000Data.dat, the OMU
type of the target BSC6900 is OMUa, and the active OMU is in slot 21 and the standby OMU
is in slot 23.
If the actual situation is different from the preceding assumptions, modify the settings of
parameters 2, 7, 8, 9, and 11 only.
Step 5 Access [omu rootpath]\bam\version_a\bin\bam to check whether the errorinfo.html file
exists. If the file exists, stop the upgrade.
Step 6 In the DOS command window, run the following command to restart the OMU software:
net start omud
Step 7 In the IE address bar on the current PC, enter \\127.0.0.1 to link the PC OMU. Copy the
following command to the command input window and run the command to save the data of
the BSC6900 as a BCP file. The file is stored to [omu
rootpath]\mbsc\bam\version_a\ftp\ExportCMESyncView and is named
CMECfgSyncView.zip in compressed mode.
EXP CFGSYNFILE: FT=BCP;
Step 8 For easy differentiation, rename the compressed BCP file BSC6000CMECfgSyncView.zip.
For the data upgrade from BSC32 to BSC6900, rename the file
BSC32CMECfgSyncView.zip.
Step 9 In the DOS command window, run the following command to stop the OMU software:
net stop omud
Issue 01 (2009-04-30)
After the data is upgraded to the BSC6900, the same method is adopted to swap scripts on the
CME. This chapter describes how to swap the script from the BSC32 to the BSC6900.
On the displayed Add NE page, enter an NE name (for example, BSC32) and set Data File to
BSC32CMECfgSyncView.zip, as shown in the following figure.
Click OK to import the data of the BSC32. Adopt the same method to import the data of the
BSC6900, as shown in the following figure.
Step 4 On the CME configuration page, start BTS swapping. You can swap all the BTSs at a time or
one by one.
Select an NE from the navigation tree, and then choose GSM Application > Reparent BTS
Between BSCs, as shown in the following figure.
On the displayed Reparent BTS Between BSCs page, set Source BSC to BSC32 and
Destination BSC to BSC6900, and then click Add to select the BTS to be swapped, as shown
in the following figure.
Issue 01 (2009-04-30)
On the Reparent BTS Between BSCs page, click Edit Reparent File and edit the file on the
displayed page. The BSC32 does not support DXX, IP Over E1, and IP functions. Therefore,
you can deselect the corresponding check boxes to reduce the data to be edited, as shown in
the following figure.
Issue 01 (2009-04-30)
After that, adjust relevant data on various tab pages according to the actual planning. To
ensure that the BTS index, cell index, and TRX cell specified manually after the swapping are
different from the existing BTS index, cell index, and TRX cell of the BC6900, delete the
relevant column on the corresponding tab page.
On the BTS tab page, delete New BTS ID, as show in the following figure.
On the GCELL tab page, delete New Cell Id, as show in the following figure.
On the GTRX tab page, delete New TRX Id, as show in the following figure.
Issue 01 (2009-04-30)
After that, save and close the file. On the displayed Huawei CM Express page, click Next to
swap data.
Step 5 After data swapping, choose Data Management > Export Incremental Scripts on the
Huawei CM Express page to export the swapping scripts, as shown in the following figure.
On the displayed Export Incremental Scripts page, select the script export directory, as
shown in the following figure.
Issue 01 (2009-04-30)
The scripts of both the BSC6900 and the BSC32 are exported. Subsequently, however, the
script of the BSC6900, that is, MBSC_BSC6900.txt, is required. The script file name
contains the NE name entered in Step 3.
