Minimum System Requirements


System Requirements
- Operating System Windows 98/me/2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista
- DirectX 9.0 or higher (for Windows 98/me or 2000)
- Video adapter supports 24bit color or more
- CPU with 1.5GHz or more
- System Memory 128MB or more, Display Memory 64MB or more
- USB2.0 interface
- Hard Disk Space 1GB for installation plus additional space for captured images
Since video processing is hardware intensive, a faster computer with a fast hard disk drive and
extra memory will yield better results.

Installation Instruction
Installation for Windows XP
1.

Plug the camera to the computer USB2.0 port with the USB
wire, the system will find new hardware, and comes out New Hardware Wizard
dialog. Please click Cancel.

Double click the DCE-2 Setup.exe in the CD. The wizard will lead
you to install both the hardware and software, after the installation, you
can use the camera. Please follow the clue to install it.

3. Select the installation language. Click next.

4. Click Install

5. Software Installation. Click Continue Anyway.

6. Hardware Installation. Click Continue Anyway

7. Attention: If you have not attach your camera to your computer before the installation, there
will come out a dialog telling you to attack your device. Click OK

8. Click Finish, installation has been completed. Now you can see the Camera-D2

bellow Imaging Devices in Device Manager / Hardware. And can use the
camera to preview the video now .

Installation for Windows Vista


1. Plug the camera to the computer USB2.0 port with the USB wire,
the system will find new hardware, and comes out New Hardware Wizard dialog.
Please click Cancel.

2. Double click the DCE-2 Setup.exe in the CD. The wizard will lead
you to install both the hardware and software, after the installation, you
can use the camera. Please follow the clue to install it.

3. Select the installation language, please select English, and click OK

4. Click Next.

5. Click Install. There will comes out a warring dialog tells An unidentified

program wants access to your computer, please click Allow.

6. Click Install this driver software Anyway.

7. Attention: If you have not attach your camera to your computer before the installation, there
will come out a dialog telling you to attack your device. Click OK

8. Click Finish, and there will come out a dialog asking you to restart your system,
please click OK.

Now you can see the Camera-D2 bellow Imaging Devices in Device Manager /
Hardware. And can use the camera to preview the images.

How to Use the Camera


User Interface
The following section will guide you through the operation of Image Driving Software.

1.1 Button Description


Four kinds of buttons:
a. Open video button: Devices (Camera-D2). Options (Preview) .

b.

Adjust image button: Options (Video Capture Filter, Video Capture Pin).

c. Capture Video button: File (Set Capture Files), Capture (Start Capture, Stop Capture).

d. Capture image button: File(Save Snap Image As), Capture(Snap)

1.2 The operation of image process


1.2.1 Adjusting image process
a. Click on the icon on desktop.
b. First click on Device, then Camera-D2.

c. Appear image as following

d. Click on video capture pin in options, you can change video resolution from
160120 to 1280*960,setting RGB24in the color space, this selection will let the image
and transmission most clear.

e. If the color is not nature, select video capture filter; take off the white balance in auto,
adjust the red, green, blue color by your hand until satisfied.

1.2.2 Saving Video/Image Processing


1.2.2.1 Capture Video

a.

First click on file, then click on Set capture file name.

b.

When the file window appeared, you can save file name,

Click on open. A window will pop up allowing you to set file size, you can choose
cancel or input a number in input window, then click OK.

d.

Click Capture->start capture to begin recording.

please do remember to
add .avi after the file name. Every time you want to capture a
video, do this first.

e.

When you are ready to capture, click on OK.

f.

After recording, click on Capture->Stop capture. Now this file has been saved into your
hard drive. To play back the video clip, double click on the file.

1.2.2.2 Capture images

a.

First click on file, then click on Save Snap Image As.

b.

When the file window appeared, you can save file name,

please do remember to
add .bmp after the file name. Every time you want to capture
a picture, do this first.

c. Click Capture->Snap, the image is saved.

1.3 Twain interface


Digital camera support most image application software, (application software must support
TWAIN interface), such as Window Imaging, Microsoft Photo Editor, Corel Photopaint,
Ulead, Adobe PhotoShop and other imaging software.
Here shows you how to use the twain interface in our DN-2 Microscopy Image
processing software for an example:
a. Open the DN-2 software.
b. Click on select scanner in file.

c. Choose Vimicro USB PC Camera(ZC03019L), click OK.

d. click on scan.

e. Pop up preview window.

Select settings to control the images


brightness, sharpness, contrast and
so on.

Select format to set the size of photo


Select capture to catch the image.

Select transfer to the program.

f. Click on save or save as, rename TIFor BMPform , save in the


derectory that you want.

g. Your image is now saved and can be e-mailed, printed or edited further.
