All transport, loading and unloading of this machine must be performed in accordance with the relevant
safety precautions regarding Heavy objects in movement and Suspended objects. Items packaged in
wooden or cardboard cases should be moved with appropriate machines in the correct manner and the
relativepersonnelresponsibleformovingsaidobjectsshouldbewearingtherecommendedsafetyapparel,
gloves,helmets,safetyeyewearetc.

The treatment cabin where the RADIOFREQUENCY machine will be placed should be clean, free and clear
priortothearrivalofthemachine.BEAUTYPROGRESSalsorecommendsthattheflooringbeofanantislip
nature,andthattherelativeelectricalplantbeconformanttotherelevantlegalrequirements.Theareain

usedforanyotherpurposesotherthanthoseindicatedinthismanual.

1.1GENERALSAFETY.

Radiofrequency is a device for localized heat treatment that is able to treat subcutaneous tissue with
radiofrequency waves by a capacitive system. The frequency of emission 470KHz 10%, the possibility of
regulating the temperature as desired, that for safety reasons can never exceed 47C, the capacitive
couplingwhichisdeterminedbyimpedanceandthesizeoftheelectrodessuppliedasstandard,allowfora
controlled heating of the adipose tissue and the subcutaneous tissue of the face. Radiofrequency is
particularly indicated for the localized treatments of cellulite, wrinkles, orange peel skin, post acne
treatments,scartissueingeneralaswellasofferingahighlyeffectiveAntiAgingtreatment.

Thetherapeuticapplicationofelectricalcurrentthroughradiofrequencytreatments,(diathermy)generates
heat deep within the tissue and stimulates vasodilatation, thereby starting a positive chain reaction that
ultimatelyincreasesthelevelofoxygen.Thisbenefitsnotonlycellularmetabolismbutalsohasanextremely
positiveantioxidanteffect,therebypreventingcellularageing.
Radiofrequencyreleasespowerinagradualfashion,anddoesnotoriginateadamage/repairprocessbuta
controlled stimulation of the fibroblasts and of the collagen. This makes the treatments pleasant, painless
andavailabletoanybodyatanytimeduringtheyear.
Radiofrequencyisthereforeparticularlyindicatedforthetreatmentoflocalizedadiposity,cellulite,orange

5.1HOWRADIOFREQUENCYWORKS.

RADIOFREQUENCY electromagnetic waves, RF in short, between 0,3MHz and 10GHz penetrate into the
tissueandproduceheatfollowingtheabsorptionofEnergyintothesetissues.Thedepthofpenetrationof
theRFwavesdependsonthefrequencyofthewavesandisgreaterwhenthefrequencyislower.Thegreater
partoftheeffectsthatcanbeverifiedafterRFtreatmentscanbeexplainedasaninducedheatingthatgives
rise to an increase in the tissues treated, greater than 1C. The induced heating of body tissue can cause
several physiological phenomena that are linked with thermoregulation. There are two ways in which RF
energycanbeappliedtopartsofthehumanbody,bothpresentdifferentphysiologicalresponses:Inthefirst
case,theelectrodesaremetallic,inthesecondtheyareinsulated.Inbothcasesthesizeoftheelectrodesis
sometimes less than the size of the return plate, and sometimes they are of the same size as the return
plate.InthefirstinstancetheprimaryphysicalprincipleoftheeffectsofRFappliedtohumantissueisthatof
the IONIZATION of the organic molecules which behave as electrical charges that in the presence of a

Inthesecondcase,(capacitivemethod)thephysicalprincipleisthatofthePOLARIZATIONofthemolecole
thatbehavelikeelectricaldipolesandtheyalignthemselvesalongthelinesofenergyoftheelectricalfield
generated bewteen the two plates. This is because the active electrode is insulated (ceramic) and thus
between the active electrode and the return plate there is no movement of electrical charges but just an
electrical field that creates a capacitive effect and a polarization of the organic molecules. The variation
withintheelectricalfieldwithafrequencyof450,000timespersecond,meansthatthepolarizedmolecules
oftissuecollidewithoneanotherandcauseheatingbyfiction,whichiscapacitive.Inthisway,onlyorganic
molecules near to the active electrodes surface will be affected, and only subcutaneous tissue will be

Thedepthandthelevelofthethermaleffectgeneratedby RFwavesinthehumanbodydependson:the

surface), the method of coupling between energy and tissue (resistive or capacitive), the characteristics of
conductivityofthetissuetreated:tissueswithgreaterimpedance,suchasadiposetissue,generategreater
heatwithsubsequentlygreaterthermaleffect.Inthisway,theenergygeneratedbyRFtreatmentsisableto

and so we can say that the BEAUTY PROGRESS RADIOFREQUENCY machine is able to generate to perform
localizedheattreatments.Itisthereforenecessarytodistinguishwhetherthetreatmentdesiredisthatofa
cosmeticfacialliftingnature,orthatofreducingcellulite.Inthefirstcase,thesmallerelectrodesshouldbe
used in the second case, the larger electrodes should be used. (see the following chapter; OPERATING
MODES).

5.2.1RADIOFREQUENCYFORTHECOSMETICTREATMENTOFWRINKLES.

ThebiologicaleffectoftheheatproducedbyRFtreatmentsatthelevelofthedermis,provokesachangein
the collagen fibers (between 5% and 30% of the total number of fibers are affected) and as a result, the
fiberscontractimmediately,andprogressivelyasmoretreatmentsareperformedforuptosixmonthsafter
thetreatmentsarestopped.Thefibroblastsarestimulatedtosynthesizenewcollagen,elastinandhyaluronic
acidandthe dermisbecomesmoredense,improvingthe tone oftheskineliminatingflaccidityandtheso
called orange peel aspect. On the face, wrinkles are visibly reduced due to the increased production of
collagen.

CAP.6APPLICATIONOFTREATMENTS

6.1OPERATINGTECHNIQUES.

Thebasicoperationtechniquesforfaceorbodyrequirethatthesurfaceoftheelectrodebelubricatedwitha
specificRFcreamandplacedsquarelyontheskinsothattheentiresurfaceoftheelectrodeisincontactwith
the skin surface, avoiding using only the edge of the electrode. The operator should make slow circular
movementswiththeelectrodeuntiltheareatreatedshowsaslightreddening.Theclientshouldfeeladeep
heatingsensation,intense,butnotunpleasant.Thereturnplateshouldbeplacedatasuitabledistancefrom
theareatobetreated.Forexampleiftherightcheekistobetreated,thelefthandshouldbeplacedonthe
return plate or under the buttocks. If cellulite on the legs needs to be treated, the return plate can be
positionedunderthebuttocksorbeneaththesmallofthebackorunderthethigh.Theonscreenvaluefor
the IMPEDANCE can inform the operator if the return plate is correctly positioned. If the IMPEDANCE
reading shows a value between 1,000 and 5,000 Ohms, the return plate is connected and positioned
correctly.

platesor3). Positionthelargerreturn plateunder thebuttocks orbeneaththesmalloftheclientsback,
having previous applied sufficient RF gel to the surface of the plate. Apply sufficient RF gel in a uniform

withthepartofthebodytobetreatedwithasmuchofthesurfaceoftheelectrodeaspossible.
Facialtreatments:
ForfacialtreatmentsitispreferabletoputthemachineinMANUALmodeandpresetthepoweroutputat
35%foratreatmenttimeof20minutes.
Theelectrodessizeshouldbe:20mmor30mm.
AfterpressingSTART,placetheelectrodeon the clientsforeheadmakingsmall,slow,circularmovements
untilthetemperaturereaches41C(itmaytakeaminuteortwoforthetemperaturetobedisplayedonthe
touch screen) If the increase in temperature takes too long, the operator can speed the process up by
increasingthepower,whichshouldhoweverbedoneinagradualfashionuntilthedesiredtemperatureis
reached, at which time the operator should work on the wrinkles in the manner shown below for 34
minutes.

Intensity of the treatments: Each client will have a different sensitivity to the heat generated by RF
treatments.Optimumresultsforfacialliftingtreatmentsareobtainedwhentheclientperceivesheatinthe
treated area that ranges between hot and very hot, considering also that the perception of heat changes
dependingontheareaofthebodythatisbeingtreated.

BodyLiftingandBodyLiftingElectrode
Spread the RF gel on the area to be treated and onto the electrode surface and treat the area by making
small circular movements until the client feels intense, but not uncomfortable, localized heat in the area
being treated. The temperature should be calibrated at 43C. The operators discretion, the MANUAL
treatmentmodecanbeselected.Thisallowsforatreatmentwithhigherpower,atleast60%isthenormin
thiscase,however,foranefficienttreatmentofcelluliteBEAUTYPROGRESSrecommendsthatthetreatment
be performed in the AUTOMATIC mode. The circular movements should be made in the direction of the
lymph glands situated in the hollow behind the knees, in order to drain the excess liquids towards them.

Treatments for face and body should be performed at least twice per week for a cycle of 12 treatments,
howeveroncetreatmentsbeginthecycleof12treatmentsshouldbeperformedwithinathreemonthtime
span, that can include topup treatments (once a week for up to two months). The final result will last

CAP.9GUARANTEECONDITIONS

9.1ACCEPTANCEOFTHEDELIVERY.

BEAUTY PROGRESS (hereinafter BP) guarantees the BEAUTY PROGRESS MONOPOLAR RADIOFREQUENCY
machine for a period of 12 months against any defects due to errors in manufacture or due to defective
materialsfromthedeliverydateof themachinetothepurchaser(hereinafterclient), with thefollowing
conditions:

NOTE
PleasereadthefollowingtermsandconditionsverycarefullyandBEFOREinstallingthemachine
astheinstallationofthemachineautomaticallydenotesacceptanceofthetermsandconditionsaslisted
herebelow.Intheeventthattheclientdoesnotacceptdelivery,pleasemakesurethatthemachineis
returnedinitsoriginalpackaging.

DECLARATIONOFQUALITY

TheinsulatedelectrodesareTefloncoatedandnotcoveredbyguaranteeconditions,

thereforepleasetakegreatcarewhenhandlingtheseelectrodes.Avoiddroppingthemorscratching
theirsurface.Uponthedeliveryofthemachine,checktheelectrodestomakesureoftheirintegrity.Inthe
extremelyunlikelyeventthattheelectrodesareoriginallysuppliedasdefectiveorthattheybecome
damagedduringtransport,pleaserequesttheirreplacement,freeofcharge,within24hours.

9.2GUARANTEECONDITIONS.

This BEAUTY PROGRESS MONOPOLAR RADIOFREQUENCY MACHINE, with series number:

is covered by a 12 month guarantee against all manufacturing or raw material defects.
The 12 month period begins from the date in which the machine is delivered to the client.
In the event that the machine proves to be defective through manufacturing defects or because
of defects in raw materials during the 12 month guarantee period, BP will replace and/or repair
the machine.
The conditions of this guarantee cover the costs of labor, the substitution of damaged or broken
parts (where possible) and/or the replacement of the machine with a new machine. The
replaced/repaired machine will be supplied EX-WORKS.
The defective machine will be
replaced/repaired only after the defective machine has been received by BP for inspection. In
the event that the defective machine has been tampered with or if the defect has been caused
by: natural disasters, acts of God, mechanical shocks, defects within the clients electrical plant,
negligent maintenance by the client or persons other than those recommended by BP, incorrect
usage, this guarantee will be null and void.
This BEAUTY PROGRESS MONOPOLAR
RADIOFREQUENCY MACHINE has been manufactured to exacting quality standards and every
care has been taken to ensure its correct functioning at the time of delivery.
BP declines any responsibility for damages caused to the machine, the client or the person(s)
being treated, other people or property, when due to tampering with the machine or by
incorrect usage of the machine or by the clients non-observance of the instructions within the
USERS MANUAL.
BP declines any responsibility for damages caused to the machine, the client or the person(s)
being treated, other people or property if:
* The installation, calibration, modification, repairs etc., are not performed by personnel
authorized by BP.
* The electrical plant is not earthed and/or does not conform to CEI requirements.
* The machine is not used in strict compliance with the instructions listed in the USERS
MANUAL.
BP RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE MACHINE IN ORDER TO IMPROVE
THE MACHINE AS IT SEES FIT, WITHOUT FORWARNING.
