INTRODUCTION
JLV Industries is proud of the innovative developments of the Glideseal idler roller. The Glideseal
roller directly addresses the inherent problems associated with conventional idler rollers, and in doing
so provides an environmental, personnel, and equipment friendly roller with low noise emissions,
ease of handling, and low vibration, coupled with an extremely long service life.
The Glideseal idler roller is designed for conveying applications where long life, low noise emission and
low vibration are paramount. 127mm Dia,152mm Dia and 178mm Dia rollers can be manufactured
to suit client specifications. Glideseal rollers are continually developed to suit the exact requirements
of each client to obtain the most suitable roller possible.
Features
Long bearing life using premium quality bearing, multiple integral sealing and synthetic
lubricants.
Polymeric end bearing housings highly resistant to degradation from stress and weathering.
Maintenance free operation.
Low noise and vibration emissions.
When an aluminium shell is selected, extremely low noise emissions, low rotational mass
reducing power draw, very low handling weight and excellent corrosion resistance are
achieved.
Performance
Glideseal rollers are also manufactured in an extra low weight version, which is predominantly used
for long trough and return idler rollers. With this technology, single roll return rollers that normally
weigh 50 kg can now be manufactured with a mass of no more than 21 kg. This is achieved by
using our hollow shaft design. These are being mainly used on stacker / reclaimers and ship-loading
facilities where accessibility is restricted and personnel need a light product to prevent injury.
Low noise Glideseal rollers have on average a 10 dBA lower noise emission than conventional
conveyor rollers. They have been designed to operate with reduced noise and vibration emission,
which makes them suitable for application where proximity to populated buildings and areas is a
concern.
The Glideseal roller can be considered a long life roller that outlasts conventional idler rollers in
harsh environments. Glideseal rollers are currently installed in ship-loader facilities around Australia
and are performing well. Several of our clients use our rollers to transport corrosive material and
enjoy lengthier change-out frequencies than they would otherwise experience.
The JLV Glideseal idler roller has been site tested for more than fifteen years with great success and
during that time significant enhancements have been made to further improve sealing efficiencies
and ultimate roller life. We believe our rollers are the correct choice for operations interested in
reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) through extended service life and reduced change-out
schedules.
INTRODUCTION
Whats The Difference?
The polymeric end housing incorporates multiple integral seals which prevent bearing contamination
caused by particle migration ensuring an extremely long service life. Also it reduces the transfer of
vibration from the shell to the bearings and on to the plant and equipment. The polymeric materials
used are very stable and no ill effects through stress or weathering will occur and any form of
corrosion is simply not possible. The weather seal provides effective protection keeping moisture
and particles away from the inner seals and ensure that even under deluge conditions moisture
can not enter the protective cavities. The bearings and protective cavities are filled with synthetic
grease, which is not susceptible to oil separation and will not leach ensuring that the bearings will
be well lubricated for the life of the roller. The TIR (Total Indicator Runout) and MIS (Maximum
indicated Slope) are extremely low due to the stringent specification with which Glideseal idlers are
manufactured.

company background
About Us
JLV Industries Pty Ltd is a Western Australian company which has been constructing, installing and
maintaining cable hauled conveyor systems for over twenty five years.
At our plant in Harvey, Western Australia, we design and manufacture a range of products for cable
hauled conveyor systems. We have adopted the company motto, Conveying Quality. We believe
that this motto communicates both our total commitment to quality, and also our area of corporate
interest in bulk materials handling.
Our Approach
We work closely with our customers to ensure their satisfaction. Our products help our customers
to reduce their total cost of ownership (TCO) of maintenance components and improve throughput
by reducing downtime. Our products are designed to provide the maximum life possible by using
patented technology to provide an edge over the competition.
Background
JLV Industries has been involved in the mining and heavy construction industries since 1980. The
original company was established by Bill Johnson and Doug Vance to construct the Worsley Alumina
51 Km overland conveyor system in Western Australia. Many other major projects, both in Australia
and overseas, have been successfully completed since.
In 1988, the directors of JLV decided to focus more on the design and manufacture of conveyor
belt and conveyor system components. This change of focus was driven by the desire to control
more closely the quality of the goods and services that JLV was supplying to customers. In 1992,
JLV was awarded accreditation by SAI Global as a Quality Endorsed Company. We have recently
been awarded a certificate of registration for complying with the requirements of AS/NZS ISO
9001:2008.
We are a private company based in Perth, Western Australia. The company has enjoyed a steady
growth and maintains turnover and profitability, which enables us to reinvest a significant proportion
into research and development of our new products. JLV specialises in the design and manufacture
of Cable Hauled Conveyor System belting and components. More recently we have also been
involved with design and manufacture of the Glideseal Idler Roller for conventional belt conveyors.
JLV has two offices, the head office in Myaree, and one in Harvey south of Perth, which is our
manufacturing base.
quality policy
JLV Industries Pty Ltd is involved in the design manufacture and supply of a range of rubber and
urethane products for the mining, materials handling and refining industries. It is our objective to
become the supplier of first preference for our range of products and services, by providing our
clients an optimum level of quality, service and price. In order to achieve this objective we have
implemented a quality system based upon AS/NZS ISO 9001: 2008.
Our Quality System ensures that all activities are performed in a systematic and controlled manner
and in an environment conducive to a philosophy of continued improvement and excellence. All
employees are aware of our Quality System and appreciate and endorse the Quality Policy and
Objectives of our Company. All work is performed to pre-determined standards in order to satisfy
our clients requirements.
It is recognised that our employees are of vital importance for our future growth and profitability and
