Summer Fruit & Veggie Frappe - Meal Replacement or Dessert

Submitted by: OLIVERFAMILY33

Introduction
I made this because my children are anti-healthy food of any kind right now, and
with the summer heat this is a great way to make sure they (as well as I) get t
he nutrients needed that often are lacking, especially when everyone has a sweet
tooth!
This is great as a meal replacement if you're in a rush, but I recommend having
it with a good piece of protein, like chicken breast or an egg-white omelet.
Minutes to Prepare: 15
Minutes to Cook: 2
Number of Servings: 2
Ingredients
7-8 Rasberries, fresh, rinsed
1/2 large banana
6oz Strawberry Yogurt, fat free (I used Yoplait Original - 99% fat free)
1 cup Skim/Fat Free Milk
1/2 cup spinach, fresh, rinsed (used fresh baby spinach)
1 leaf - Green Leaf Lettuce
1 med apple, fresh, rinsed, whole or sliced
Blender
Juicer
Tips
The juice comes out looking like a coffee color, which to the kids resembled cho
colate. This freezes VERY well and managed to get my daughter to eat one and she
had NO clue how healthy it was.
I drank it around lunch time and it filled me up so I wasn't even hungry for an
entire lunch.
You can subsititute the rasperries for strawberries, blueberries and adjust the
flavors of the yogurt as you like. My daughter has a sweet tooth, which is why I
used the strawberry yogurt.
I hope you enjoy!
Directions
1) In Blender, add Rasperries, Banana, Yogurt and Milk
2) In Juicer (if you don't have those new super blenders) a) Turn on Juicer
b) Wrap Green Leaf Lettuce Leaf around the fresh spinach to make a ball & drop i
nto juicer
c) Immediately add whole or largely sliced apple behind it to get all the juice
out from the greens.
3) Add this juice to blender
4) Put the lid ON the blender ( I know some forget sometimes LOL)
5) Use the high speed options - Frappe or Puree are good.

Pour immediately into 2 glasses, about 8 - 12oz each, OR pour into popsicle mold
s (yields about 6 skinny pops)
Consume immediately or freeze for dessert or anytime!
Serving Size: Makes 2 servings to drink or 2-4 servings for frozen pops for the
kids
