1. Contoh Teks Report (Report Text)
GORILLAS
Gorillas are the largest of all the primates. A male gorilla can be 180 centimeters
tall and can weigh 200 kilograms. Gorillas are very strong but they do not
often fight. In fact they are peaceful animals. Gorillas live in small family groups of
about 15. In a group there is one strong, older male, some young males, and
a few females with their babies. They move slowly around a large area of jungle
eating leaves and bushes.
In some ways gorillas are very like humans. When they are happy,
they laugh and wave their arms. When they are angry, they beat their chests.
When they are sad, they cry. But they cry quietly, without any tears.
Unfortunately, people hunt and kill gorillas. They also cut down and burn their trees.
There are now only about 10,000 gorillas l

AN ELEPHANT
An Elephant is a rare mammal herbivore. There are two types of an elephant. Indian
Elephants and African Elephants. Indian elephants are smaller and African elephants are the
biggest land animal. They can live to be eighty
A baby Elephant is called a calf. A newborn Elephant weighs about 110 kg. It is
covered in hair. Baby elephants stay in the group until they are about ten years old.
An Elephants trunk is really a nose. They use their trunk to drink. They breathe
through the trunk. They also use the trunk to break branches and to pick up food.
Adult Elephants eat in the morning and evening. They eat lots of leaves and grass.
They use their trunk to suck up water and then squirt it in their mouth.
African Elephants live in grasslands and forests. Indian Elephants live in jungles.
Their habitats are being destroyed
Elephants are beautiful animals. People must save their habitat and protect them.
Without this help all the worlds Elephants will die.

THE LIONS
Lions are wild animals that (1)... meat. It means that lions are carnivores. Lions are
magnificent animals that appear as a symbol of power, courage and nobility and national
flags in many civilizations. Wild lions currently exist in Africa and in Asia with a critically
endangered remnant population.
Lions (2) for ten to fourteen years in the wild, while in captivity they can live
longer than twenty years. In the wild, males seldom live longer than ten years, as injuries
(3) from continual fighting with rival males greatly reduce their longevity. They (4)
inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest.
Lions are unusually social compared to other cats. A pride of lions consists of related
females and offspring and a small number of adult males. Groups of female lions typically
hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates, such as Zebras, Deers, and Buffalos. Lions
are apex and keystone predators.
Visually, the male lion is highly distinctive and is easily (5). by its mane. Mature
male lions are uniqe among the cat species for the thick mane of brown or black hair
encircling the head and neck. Both male and female lions roar, a sound which can be heard as
far as 8 kilometers away. However, Male lions are bigger than female lions.
