Shakespeare is the maestro and the most representative English literary in Renaissance

Age. With a natural talent and spirit receipted from the great humanist Renaissance,
Shakespeare has created masterpieces tragedy works in which Hamlet is typical. Shakespeare
wrote Hamlet in about 1601 in London, England. The main background place of Hamlet is a
fictional royal castle in the city of Elsinore in the country of Denmark.
The main characters of Hamlet are Hamlet, Claudius and Getrude. There are many other
characters in this drama and they even play quite an important role but only three characters
that were mentioned above are important enough to be considered as main character in my
point. Hamlet is protagonist. In this drama, there are some special antagonists. Claudius is
Hamlets main antagonist for sure but Hamlet has another antagonist that was even considered
as more destructive to Hamlet than Claudius that is Hamlet himself. Tragedy in Shakespeares
works is just not simple, its not just about suffering from outside but he brought a whole new
perspective, inner side hurts. Hamlet is a complex character. He is not dynamic or static. He is
just complex. In Hamlet, Shakespeare use both direct exposition and indirect revelation to
describe characters in Hamlet. He either told us how Hamlet, Ophelia looks like or do let we
make our own impression of each character through their actions and words. The hero of this
story is Hamlet. Beside all the complex and destruction Hamlet made, he after all still is a hero
of the story. He is not a perfect hero in simple way like heroes in epic but still is.
There are many conflicts in this story, the inner one and the outside one. Its conflict
between Hamlet and Claudius when he found out Claudius is the one who murdered his father
through his father ghosts word. He feels a responsibility to avenge his fathers murder but

Claudius is now the king and thus well protected. The inner conflict of Hamlet happen when he
struggle with his doubt about whether he can trust the ghost or not and was killing Claudius is a
good idea? The story went up and reached the climax when Hamlet commits himself to overtly
violent action and brings himself into unavoidable conflict with the king. The conflicts were
solved in a very tragedy way when Hamlet was sent to England to be killed then he returned to
Denmark and confronted Laertes at Ophelias funeral; the fencing match and the death of the
royal family. The main idea of this drama is about impossibility of certainty and complexity of
actions. Hamlet is a tragedy drama which taught us should love ourselves more and learn how
to trust people and be consistent with your thoughts. Actually Hamlet is a drama with modern
tragedy. Tragedy in Hamlet is complicated, inside and very modern so any lesson we got from
Hamlet are all fit in modern life.
