Mission Report
Due: Friday, February 12, 2010

 Cover: must have a colored illustration of your specific mission, drawn by

you (no photocopied or computer images), your name, the name of your
mission and due date

 Section 1: Table of Contents

 Section 2: colored map of California & where your mission is located

 Section 3: when the mission was founded (year) and by whom it was
founded

 Section 4: facts about the mission: physical description (architecture and

land), trades, Indian tribes that lived and worked at the mission, unique
facts

 Section 5: closure of the mission/secularization

 Section 6: Bibliography in proper format(you must use at least two

different sources). See attached directions.

You may include optional pictures of your mission if it will enhance the
information in your report. The final copy of your report may be typed on the
computer or written in your very best cursive. It must be written in your own
words; 4th grader language! As long as you incorporate the required elements,
you may get creative! Write from the point of view of a mission tour guide or
a neophyte or a padre! Your report must be turned in with all pages
connected: in a 3-prong folder, stapled, tied with a ribbon, spiral bound, etc.
Make it attractive! (NO BINDERS, PLEASE)

 Bibliography

A thorough historian uses many sources of information to compare and clarify

the facts. Gather at least two different types of resources. List in
alphabetical order.

Last name, first name. (copyright year). Title of the book. City: Publisher.

Example:
Faber, Gail & Lasagna, Michelle. (1986). Whispers Along the Mission Trail.
Alamo: Magpie Publications.

If you used a few pages, rather than the whole book, list those pages.

Example:

If there is no author, list by title first.
