myself ' this is the beginning of the
end'. Yes, Iam sure Allah will never
allow anyone to smear your honor,

MORE HATRED IN THE HEART!

Recent controversy over film is the latest episode
of enemy's attempt to destabilize Islam by cheap
means. Quran said what appears from their
mouth is little, but their minds carry more
abhorrence and hatred against Islam.
1

Hatred has already appeared from their

mouths, but what their breasts conceal is
greater (Al-Imran: verse 118)
LONG HISTORY OF HATRED
Enemies of the light always tried to ridicule our
beloved Prophet (S.A) from the very beginning of
his mission. Quran obviously stated that enemy

Quran : Chapter Al Imran 3812:

won't be satisfied with Prophet of Islam until

Prophet leaves Islam and follows enemy's religion.
2

And never will the Jews or the Christians

approve of you until you follow their religion
(Al Baqara:120)
PUNISHMENT FOR HATRED
But Allah has guaranteed to avenge the prophet's
mocker with strict punishments. Allah says
3
Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the
mockers
one of the commentary of this verse says: This is
the promise from Allah to the prophet (S.A.S) that
the mockers can't make any harm to him and
Allah will protect him from all kind of evils by
giving them different kind of punishment. In fact,
no anyone tried to defame prophet (S.A.S) in
public unless Allah has destroyed him with sever
kind of killing.

8Quran : Chapter Al Baqara . 28120

55:55

"I will take revenge for my allies as the

revenge of a ferocious fighting lion."
5

"Whoever bears enmity towards an ally of

mine has entered into warfare with Me."
Following incident says how Allah dealt with one
of the mocker of the prophet at the time of his
life:
Bukhari reports:
There was a Christian who embraced Islam
and read Surat-al-Baqara and Al-`Imran,
and he used to write (the revelations) for the
Prophet. Later on he returned to Christianity
again and he used to say: "Muhammad
knows nothing but what I have written for
him." Then Allah caused him to die, and the
people buried him, but in the morning they
saw that the earth had thrown his body out.
They said, "This is the act of Muhammad and
his companions. They dug the grave of our
companion and took his body out of it

because he had run away from them." They

again dug the grave deeply for him, but in
the morning they again saw that the earth
had thrown his body out. They said, "This is
an act of Muhammad and his companions.
They dug the grave of our companion and
threw his body outside it, for he had run
away from them." They dug the grave for
him as deep as they could, but in the morning
they again saw that the earth had thrown his
body out. So they believed that what had
befallen him was not done by human beings
and had to leave him thrown (on the
ground).6
See how Allah punished this mocker? Did you ever
read about Allah punished anyone with such a
disgraceful way? There were some people who
were attributing son to Allah which is the biggest
blasphemy and most horrible sin, but we didn't
read that Allah punished them with such a
shocking way!. Insulting the prophet is greater
than just apostasy.
PROPHET MORE RESPECTED
The status of the Holy Prophet (S.A.S) is higher
and higher than any one can imagine. His status is
above all. Nothing can win over him. Any attempt
to insult only result in destruction of the insulter.
The mockery can't gain anything, rather it will
lead people more to remember the honor of the

beloved prophet (S.A.S). Previous experience

says the more prophet became the topic of the
discussion, the more people embrace Islam,
exactly as we saw aftermath of Denmark cartoon
issue.

To protest against such mockery is one of the

fundamental duty of a Muslim, it is esteemed
responsibility too, but the protest should be each
according to his limit. Because honoring the
prophet is a very basic duty of a believer,
otherwise there is no use of being in the fold of
Islam. Everyone should maximize the protest by
all means. If one couldn't protest with pen and
tongue, he can at least reject and protest by his
heart. One should evaluate and renew his
belief(iman) if he doesn't feel any harm when he
hears the news of defaming the Prophet of Islam.
Anyhow, the protest should not go beyond limit;
destruction of public asset never allowed in Islam,
killing or harming the innocent not justified in Islam
under any circumstances.
PUNISHMENT FOR THE MOCKERY
Qadi Iyad said: Anyone who insulted the prophet
or blamed him or accused him of any flaw
,shortcoming in his personality, his lineage or his
character should be considered as the slander of

Prophet and his punishment is to be killed7, he will

not be asked to do tawbah8
Sure, only an Islamic court in a full Islamic country
can execute this punishment, such an Islamic state
currently not available. But the point is the
severity of punishment that Isalm announced
against those slanders of the prophet (S.A.S).
In the hadith of Abu Barza as-Aslami it
says, "One day I was sitting with Abu Bakr

as-Siddiq and he became angry at one of the

Muslim men." Qadi Isma'il and other Imams
said that the man had cursed Abu Bakr. AnNasa'i related it as, "I came to Abu Bakr and
a man had been rude and answered him
back. I said, 'Khalif of Allah, let me strike off
his head!' He said, 'Sit down. That is not for
anyone except the Messenger of Allah, may
Allah bless him and grant him peace.'
"No
one disagreed with him." So the Imams take
this, as a proof that anyone who does
anything that might anger, harm or curse the
Prophet in any way should be killed. 9
Qadi Abu Muhammad ibn Nasr said,

There is also the letter of 'Umar ibn

'Abdu'l-'Aziz to his governor in Kufa. He
had asked his advice about killing a man

who had cursed 'Umar. 'Umar wrote back

to him, "It is not lawful to kill a Muslim for

cursing anyone except the Messenger of

Allah. Whoever curses him, his blood is
lawful."10
Harun ar-Rashid asked Malik about a man
who had reviled the Prophet and he
mentioned to him that the fuqaha' of Iraq
had given a fatwa that he be flogged. Malik
became angry and said, "Amir al-Mu'minin!
There is no continuation for a community
after it curses its Prophet! Whoever curses
the Companions of the Prophet is to be
flogged." 11
That he is to be killed can be deduced by
reflection and consideration. Anyone who
curses or disparages the Prophet has shown
clear symptoms of the sickness of his heart
and proof of his real convictions and belief.
That is why most of the 'ulama' judge him to
be an apostate. This is what is transmitted by
the people of Syria from Malik, al-Awza'i,
ath-Thawri, Abu Hanifa and the people of
Kufa.
Because upholding the Prophet's honour is an
obligation owed by his entire community and
anyone who curses a free man of his
community is given a hadd-punishment, the

punishment of someone who curses the

There are some other instances as well where
Allah warned with hardest shameful
punishment to those who do harm to His
beloved prophet (S.A.S).

ordered to open to no one before you."
HOW TO RESPOND?
Insulting prophet (S.A.S) is a biggest sin a person
can do in his life. As a Muslim, one can't sit back
and watch his highest leader being targeted. His
inner belief should remind him of any reaction,
otherwise he should be suspicious of his own iman!.
Reaction could be a strong condemnation of the
mocker, taking pen or mobile to show his strong
disapproval , tweeting or posting in Facebook or
even reciting one more 'salat' in honor of his
beloved prophet(S.A.S)!.
We all condemned America when it announced
war against Afghan and killed thousands of
innocents; why? because America punished the
innocents. If America had found the real
perpetrator and taken him to the fair judgment
and he had proven guilty in the court, we couldn't
have put blame on America. The same applies
here; the slander of the Prophet committed a big
mistake, but it is not a justification to kill his
nation's Ambassador in Libya, especially when
Islam gives due respect to the diplomatic way
and considers that harming an envoy is not
excused in any circumstance.

It is essential of iman to have great respect and

honor to the our beloved Prophet(S.A.S) to the
extent that one has to be ready to sacrifice his
life on behalf of Prophet(S.A.S). For a believer,
the prophet (S.A.S) meant more than his own life
and he maintains much respect and love towards
him.
Out of this love, an automatic reaction
arises whenever he hears something harm to the
Prophet(S.A.S). The best way to show such
reaction is to prove to the world that we are all
set to live on behalf of the prophet (S.A.S)
spreading his teachings and traditions to some
more people around the world, inviting them to
fair study about the Prophet (S.A.S) and refuting
any claims against Prophet (S.A.S). Shouting and
proclaiming that 'I love Mohammad(S.A.S)' is a
good job that inspire the unconscious mind to act,
but we can't sit back and take rest after it.
