Ketcham

seven, but his counterpart will eter-

nally hover between the ages of four

and

five.

Since his introduction via news-

papers in the spring of 1951, "Dennis


the

Menace"

has

whammed and

way into being about the most popular of present-day little guys.
The first Dennis the Menace book sold in fabulous numbers and More Dennis
THE Menace promises to do even better.
His spread throughout the United States and other countries reseftibles a
small tidal wave. Post-Hall Syndicate has Dennis in 160 newspapers, daily and
Sunday, and his sardonic little likeness has spread even to merchandise items.
There are "Dennis the Menace" cocktail napkins, barbecue aprons, and kitchen
towels; and later "Dennis the Menace" animated motion picture cartoons, sheet
music, records, and TV will swell the list.
No wonder "Dennis the Menace" has become a descriptive term for any man,
woman, or child who likes to kick over the tracesl
