Throw line with secure footing and stand not too close to low bulwark.
Use non-hardened monkey fist, such as sand filled hose.
Deck to be non-skid painted, kept clean and tidy.
Pull rope when slack and pull carefully, dont rush.
Avoid holding of rope too close to bollard and dont try to secure when
there is strong pull on the rope.
Avoid standing in the ropes bight and its snap back zone.
Use only good rope and discard heavily chafed ropes.
Master to manoeuvre vessel carefully to avoid much movement or
sudden tightening of mooring ropes.
Keep mooring rope always in sight and pull any slack.
Give feed back to bridge on ropes condition, slack or tensioned.
Pick up any ropes slack to avoid being fouled by propellers.
