HEIGHWAY-EDMISTON CABIN

The log cabin was orginally situated off

Lower Springboro Road near a spring along
the south bank of Newman's Run just south
of Waynesville. It was apparently built by
Samuel Heighway, Waynesville's founder, for

a surveyor's cabin.

The original cabin, front

part, was rennovated in the 1940s by John J.

and Martha Nichols Edmiston who made it their

home.

The Edmistons added the rear wing from

150 year old logs from a Middletown, Ohio log

structure.
