MACRAO Provisos
Students who have satisfied the MACRAO Agreement at HFCC will have satisfied EMUs
general education requirements upon completion of the three provisos outlined below. These
provisos may be transferred or completed at EMU. An official transcript indicating that
MACRAO has been satisfied is required.
1. Quantitative Reasoning (QR)
Students with an ACT Math sub score of 28 or higher or SAT Math sub score of 670 or higher may
waive this requirement.
This requirement is satisfied by successfully completing any course indicated by a Q under Area II
Math and Science. A course indicated by a q may be used if it is completed prior to EMU
enrollment or with the appropriate ACT/SAT score or prerequisite (MATH 110 at HFCC satisfies
the prerequisite).
2. Perspectives on a Diverse World
Students who satisfy MACRAO are only required to complete one course in Global Awareness
(GA) or U.S. Diversity (US).
This requirement is satisfied by successfully completing any course indicated on this guide by a
or US. A course indicated by a ga or us may be used if it is completed prior to EMU enrollment.
