January 2010 Club Meeting

Meeting called to order 6:40pm

Board Members Present: Tobi Madden, Steve Huelsmann, Sophia Cronk, Denise Tuttle,
Skip Tuttle, Stacey Klitzing, Robbie Frakes, Dan Mullan, Jared Andreotti, Rich Fenton.

Members Present: Steve Cronk, Jodi Frakes, Joe and Shari Ancona, Deborah Mullan, Ron
Silva, Paul and Diane Kmetz, Rick Klitzing, Greg Carver, Mike and Brianne Maier, Annie
Madden, Steve Trammel, Mike O’Connell, Chuck Dubie.

Presidents Report – Tobi Madden

• December 9, 2009 meeting minutes approved.
• Motion to vote club race scheduled on May 1st be moved to May 2nd. Motion approved
with a vote of 9 Yes and 0 No.

Vice President – Steve Huelsmann

• Would like club rule 2.1 Club Race Format changed to read Odd numbered races (1,
3, 5, 7) will be Qualifiers and Even Numbered Races (2, 4, 6, 8) Heat format races.
Sophia will update rule and email club members the revision.
• Reviewed survey that Steve took regarding the race season.
• Looking for gravel for parking area at the track. If anyone knows of a company
willing to work with us on this project contact Steve.
• 1st work party will be scheduled and date given at February’s meeting. At the first
work party Steve would like the focus to be on clean-up around turn 2 and Clean up
of the Steel and Metal. No more garbage dumped at track looking into possible
donation of dumpsters.

Secretary Report – Sophia Cronk

• Informed members that I had the Clubs 2010 Rule Book updated and printed to hand
out at the end of the meeting.
• Bylaws have been updated and posted on the TVQMA website.

Treasurer Report – Denise Tuttle

• Would like to discuss a less expensive alternative for the Clubs PO Box. Looks to be
costly and may be an expensive we can cut.

Training Director Report – Skip Tuttle

• Training nights are Wednesday between 4PM and 6PM
• 4 kids are in training.
• Welcomed the Maier family. Mick is ready to graduate initial training.
• Opening up an advance training night
• Training cars need work. Tobi approved $250 to be put towards maintenance. An
inventory will be taken of what we have for the cars and then it will be discussed as
to exactly what needs to be done and or changed to make these cars safe.

Fundraising Report – Annie Madden

• Looking into scheduling a bowling fundraising night. Also checking on cookie dough
and pizza sales. In the past the club has had good success with these fundraisers.

New Business /General Discussion– All

• Interested in obtaining a bumper board for our club. See if maybe another Region 10
Club has one we can use.
• Where are we at with installing the permanent Beacon? It has been approved to
purchase we just need the box built.
• Approval to purchase new transponder brackets for the club. Approved. Researching
price.
• Discussed the status of the Monza series coming to TVQMA. More information will be
available at next meeting.
• Monster Trucks Event at the Oakland Coliseum is on February 27th. Additional
information will be communicated as soon as Tobi finalizes details for this event.
Talked about possibly selling arrive and drive certificates to help promote club.
• Discussed Rain date change. Tobi took a vote of the members in attendance and the
motion passed 16 Yes and 0 No to keep the current proposed wording in our clubs
rule “In case of a race that is canceled due to rain it will be rescheduled to the
following Sat/Sun as long as it doesn't conflict with a Grands, Regional, States,
Memorial, or Monza”. Sophia will send an email to Ken Loveless Regional President
with this information.
• Discussed deleting club members addresses from the TVQMA Membership roster due
to safety reasons. Additionally another member requested children’s birthdays be
removed as well. Jenni and Sophia would keep master copies of the roster with this
information and if members need information we can discuss it personally.
• Members asked how they felt about a tire rule, similar to what Madera runs. Where
you would run the same tire throughout your race day. (What you qualify on you
race on). Tobi put to a vote, Motion passed with 8 Yes and 6 No. Even after vote still
a hot topic. A decision was agreed upon that we will discuss more at our next
meeting.
• Discussed enclosing our judging stand, and putting in an AC. (we already have the
AC unit)
