Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)


REPORTING:
Reports to the Rig Manager Performance
SUPERVISION:
Supervises the Senior Toolpusher/Performance Toolpusher/Toolpusher,
Master/Barge Supervisor, and Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer
PREREQUISITES / QUALIFICATIONS:

BASIC FUNCTION:
Manage the manpower and resources of the rig to achieve optimum performance so
as to ensure the well program is carried out in a safe, efficient and productive
manner:

Promote and ensure that all Company Policies and Procedures are
communicated and understood by personnel on the rig

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Operations/Maintenance:

Manage the planning and efficient execution of the drilling program in


coordination with Customer Representative and rig department
Hold daily operations meeting with Customer Representative and rig
department heads
Ensure pre-tour meeting is carried out for hazardous situations and nonroutine operations
Manage the Monitoring of all onboard equipment and systems usage,
supervise testing and inspection of critical equipment and systems, and
ensure operational parameters and limits are observed
Monitor the application of the Company Preventative Maintenance System
program. Ensure that equipment and systems are operational by setting
priorities on equipment repairs. Participate in weekly maintenance meetings -

Organize and supervise the activities of drilling, marine and maintenance

relevant activities regarding the rig's operation and needs
Plan operations with the Marine department as related to rig moves, mooring,
station keeping and stability. Ensure that guidelines of the rig's Marine
Operations Manual are understood and followed
Supervise and perform jacking operations for jack-up drilling units
Ensure that pre-spud meetings are conducted and that well related hazards
are recognized and managed appropriately by the key personnel

Financial:

Assist with the development of the vessel's consolidated annual maintenance


budget and oversee compliance with the budget on an annual basis
Review all rig-generated requisitions
Oversee management of the warehouse inventory level to ensure compliance
with targets

QHSE:

Incorporate the THINK process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part
of a team
Apply the START process during the execution of planned tasks and daily
operations
Approving authority for all requests for Permit to Work (PTW). Ensure that
active PTW are understood and managed diligently
Ensure that subordinate personnel are properly trained in the START Call a
Time Out for Safety (TOFS) whenever an unplanned hazard or a change in the
expected results is observed
Ensure that the Company QHSE policies and other programs are
communicated to and understood by all rig personnel
Play an active part in the weekly meetings, FOCUS Improvement Program,
and all other Company safety management systems
Ensure that new arrivals receive a full safety briefing and induction on the

Ensure that drills and exercises involving the use of all types of lifesaving, fire
fighting and other safety equipment are conducted regularly
Ensure that a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained
onboard the rig
Ensure that the Emergency Response Plan is in place for the rig and
understood by all personnel on the rig

Personnel:

SENIOR TOOLPUSHER
REPORTING:
Reports to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)

Supervises the Toolpusher, Tourpusher and Driller

BASIC FUNCTION

Supervise the drilling operations and associated activities and ensure they are

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that the Driller is provided each tour with the Standing Instructions to
Driller (SID) that is relevant to the planned operations
Monitor the maintenance, repair and installation of all drilling equipment
including repair, lubrication, maintenance records, and inventory levels

and tubulars
Ensure that the mud mixing systems and solid control equipment are being
monitored constantly and properly maintained
Relieve the Driller at the Driller's console as operational requirement
demands
Participate in the daily operations meeting with the OIM and other rig
department heads
Monitor the application of the Company Rig Maintenance System (RMS) for
drilling department maintenance tasks
Review and approve all drilling related work permits (PTW) as the
Responsible Person for the task
Supervise equipment preparation for impending drilling operations
Assist in planning the job activities of the drilling department and associated
activities
Ensure that well control requirements are in place according to operational
requirements; assist in supervising well killing operations in an emergency
situation. Attend pre-spud meetings and take note of all well-related hazards
and ensure that they are managed appropriately
Perform all well control calculations (i.e. mud weight increase, initial and final
circulating pressures, number of strokes, etc.)
Assist the OIM in coordinating the activities of third-party personnel

Review the daily drilling operations report for accuracy and approve
accordingly
Prepare Requisition Purchase Orders for equipment or parts necessary to
keep the drilling operation free of downtime. Assist in ensuring that sufficient
stock of parts and materials are maintained
Assist in the planning, organization and supervision of rig move operations

Maintain proper communication with the OIM regarding the progress of


drilling and associated operations
Recommend adjustments to drilling parameters as necessary to improve the
overall drilling operation's performance
Promote and maintain an effective working relationship with other
departments, third-party personnel and Customer Representatives

QHSE:

Ensure that subordinates understand and apply guidelines of the Company


Quality & HSE Policy Statements and rig-specific procedures
Inform the OIM of any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations
Actively participate in safety meetings, FOCUS Improvement Process, and all
other safety processes in the Safety Management System

BASIC FUNCTION:

Operate drilling equipment as instructed in the well program and Standing


Instructions to Driller (SID) in a manner that complies with Company policies

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Operations/Maintenance:

Operate all equipment at the Driller's console in a safe manner; maintain a


clean, tidy and hazard-free condition on the drill floor and associated area
Monitor the well condition at all times (i.e. depth, mud weight, weight on bit.)
Recognize, interpret and respond to down hole conditions
Perform drilling-related operations such as directional drilling, working stuck
pipe, running and cementing casing strings, coring, fishing, and assisting in
wireline logging, well testing, and other special operations.
Supervise and direct operations in the picking up or laying down of tubular
and all drilling-related equipment
Maintain accurate record of tubular and tool dimensions (i.e. internal and
external diameter, fish neck, and serial numbers)
Ensure that the solid control equipment and mud mixing operations are being
monitored constantly

Inform Toolpusher/Senior Toolpusher and Client Representative if a deviation


from planned operation occurs
Keep accurate records of fluid displacement when tubulars are run in/pulled

Complete the IADC daily drilling report (GMS) at the end of each tour
Hold pre-tour meeting with the drilling crew for all drilling operations.
Secure the well during an emergency or well control situation; assist in the
well-killing operations.
Supervise the lubrication and maintenance of all drilling and associated
equipment and ensure it is carried out in accordance with the Preventive
Maintenance System (RMS).
Maintain equipment files, drilling logs and records; perform all technical
calculations required to carry out drilling operations
Assist during the running and retrieving of marine risers and BOP stack
Assist in the planning, organization and supervision of rig move operations

BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist the Driller in operating drilling and mud circulating equipment as
instructed in the well program and in accordance to Company policies and
procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform the drilling department's daily checklists, i.e. QHSE checks,


mast/Derrick inspection, choke and kill manifold set up, etc.
Maintain accurate records of tubular and tool dimensions (i.e. internal and
external diameter, fish neck, and serial numbers)
Calculate ton-miles on drilling line; maintain an accurate logbook and
advise the Driller on the need to slip and cut
Maintain an organized drilling equipment store and tubular and subs
inventory
Maintain proper communication with the Driller, Toolpusher, and other
department heads
Read and interpret various gauges and meters relating to the drilling
operations; assist the Driller in maintaining records and logs
Actively participate in pre-tour meeting with the drilling crew for all
drilling operations
Assist and relieve the Driller at the Driller's console during drilling

Derrickman
BASIC FUNCTION:

Handle tubular goods while working on the derrick


Assist in operating and maintaining drilling fluid pumping and mixing systems

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Operations/Maintenance:

Handle tubular goods on the derrick during tripping operations (i.e. pulling
out of hole and running in hole)
Assist the Driller and Assistant Driller with rig floor operations; work with the
Floorhands on the rig floor when applicable
Participate in pre-tour meeting with the drilling crew for all drilling
operations
Inspect and perform routine maintenance work on the derrick and connected
equipment
Assist in running and cementing casing, mainly working at the casing
stabbing board
Monitor the mud pumps and mud pits during operations. Report any
unexplained pit level increase/decrease to the Driller.
Check and record drilling fluid weight and viscosity at regular intervals and
report any deviation from operational requirements to the Driller
Maintain daily logs of drilling fluid properties as well as chemicals and mud
materials. Assist in completing the mud record section of the IADC report on a
daily basis.
Operate all drilling fluid handling and treatment equipment in the pump/pit
room in accordance with operational requirements. Mix and treat drilling fluid
as per instructions.
Maintain and repair mud pumps and associated equipment; ensure that
permit to work and isolation procedure is followed.
Operate, maintain and repair gate valves associated with the mud system,
butterfly valves in mud pits, agitators, shale shakers, etc.
Operate, maintain and repair mud conditioning and solids control equipment
as required.

Assist in the running and retrieval of Blow Out Preventer (BOP) and ancillary
operations
Assist with deck operations when required

Floorhand
BASIC FUNCTION
The Floorhand works on a drilling rig and is responsible for performing services on
oil and gas wells. The duties of the Floorhand include assisting in rigging-up and
rigging-down, pulling/laying down drill pipe, tubing, and casing as well as other
functions as directed by the Driller. All duties are to be performed according to the
Company's Operating Procedures in order to maximize the safety of all personnel at
the work site and to most efficiently perform the task.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Performs duties related to tripping pipe such as, operates lead and backup
tongs, racks, leads out, and stabs pipe, sets slips, latches, and unlatches
elevators, cleans and lubricates pipe and tool joint threads, measures and tallies
pipe using an engineering tally tape, runs pipe handling machine, identifies and
operates various sizes and types of tubing and casing elevators.
2. Demonstrates the ability to work with other rig crew members to nipple-up and
nipple-down the blowout preventers and well head equipment.
3. Operates pipe handling tools such as Iron roughneck, tubing tong and casing
tongs as needed.
4. Operates the following equipment: tongs, elevators, slips, air hoists, pipe
handlers and hand tools.
5. Assists with the counting of tubulars on location.
6. Ability to perform mechanical tasks required during rig-up, rig-down, and
moving of doubles and triples drilling rigs.
7. Ability to perform maintenance and minor repairs on the following equipment:
tongs, elevators, slips, air hoists, hand tools, accumulator, draw works, engines,
duplex and triplex pumps and all well control equipment.
8. Knowledge of basic well operations, well control procedures, well head design
and blow-out prevention equipment (including accumulator systems which run
blow-out prevention stacks).
9. Knowledge of rotary table and top drive design and function.
10. Knowledge of formation pressure and blow-out prevention response
11. Possess spatial and hazard awareness necessary to operate safely within the
drilling environment.
12. May be directed to monitors drilling returns to determine adequate circulation
and nature of formation.

13. At the direction of the Driller or Derrickhand, operates manifolds and fluid
routing equipment.
14. At the direction of the Driller or Derrickhand mixes and weighs drilling mud.
15. Handles drill pipe, drill collars, tubing and casing during pick-up and lay-down
procedures.
16. Performs daily maintenance on the rig floor equipment and pipe handling tools.
17. Maintains work area; cleans and paints rig equipment.
18. Demonstrates ability to work with other crew members during rig-up, rig-down,
or when skidding the rig.
19. Interacts with third party wireline, casing, and mud logging personnel unfamiliar
with NWS policies and procedures.
20. Adheres to the policies and procedures of the Company Safety Program.
21. Will conduct Job Safety Analysis to ensure awareness of the task hazards and how
to avoid them.
22. Maintains, in confidence, knowledge of information gained in the performance of
these job duties and responsibilities.
23. Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by
immediate supervisor.
24. Performs the primary thinking called for and encompassed by the overall

Desired Skills:
1. Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that they are able to
understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written
instructions in English; and the ability to use simple mathematical calculations
using whole numbers, fractions and decimals (addition, subtraction, division and
multiplication) to make job related calculations.
2. Heavy Work- Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50
pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move
objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
3. This position requires standing, walking, and sitting while working either indoors
or outdoors.
4. While performing the job, will be required to lift/carry, pull/push, reach, squat,
kneel, and or climb ladders or stairs.
5. Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying
environmental conditions. This may include chemicals, gases, cold/heat, noise,
dampness, dust, fumes, radiation and heights. Exposure to the above conditions
should be handled as prescribed in the Company's Accident Prevention
Handbook and/or the Company's Standard Operating Procedures.
6. Must have a valid driver's license if needed to drive company equipment.
7. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
8. Ability to learn or have the basic knowledge of the oil field and related
equipment associated with the position.

9. Previous experience with the following equipment: tongs, elevators, slips, air
hoists, pipe handlers and hand tools is preferred.
10. Knowledge of conductor pipe, intermediate casing and long string design,
preferred.

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
REPORTING:
Reports to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)
SUPERVISION:
Supervises the Chief Engineer, Mechanical Supervisor or Chief Mechanic, Electrical
Supervisor or Chief Electrician, Electronics Supervisor or Chief Electronics
Technician, Information Technology Supervisor, and Senior Subsea Supervisor

BASIC FUNCTION:
Supervise and control the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical,
electronics, subsea, and information technology equipment on the vessel
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations/Maintenance:

Maintain control over the rig's Rig Maintenance System (RMS) and associated
computer database
Coordinate periodic maintenance activities with the OIM and other
department heads
Plan the service and maintenance of equipment according to the RMS
guidelines

Ensure that reports for repair and maintenance of equipment are accurate and
complete
Carry out classification society surveys as part of continuous survey of
machinery
Liaise with the marine department regarding the loading, ordering and use of
fuel, potable water, and drill water in consideration of the rig's stability
Ensure that the permit to work and isolation systems are strictly adhered to in
the maintenance department
Inform the OIM and other department heads of any technical problems or
limitations that may affect the safe operation of the rig
Maintain an adequate supply of spares to fulfill maintenance requirements and
facilitate a safe and efficient operation
Supply information for maintenance and repair budget
Maintain proper communication with shore-based Field Support group, rig
management, and equipment vendors
Liaise with the OIM to ensure that all third party equipment is fit for purpose,
certified, correctly installed, and maintained while on the rig
Implement follow-up requirements of audits, as issued by Clients, Regulatory
Authorities or rig management
Approve all maintenance department requisition purchase orders
Supply rig management with maintenance statistics of the vessel
Advise on ways of making improvements to the inventory kept on the rig
Document any and all changes to the RMS system and provide reasons for

Completions teams located in London and Ghana (Accra/Takoradi/On board Drilling Units) to
deliver the required completions and testing programmes in accordance with company Well
Engineering Policies and Procedures, specific policies and procedures applicable to Ghana
operations in the most cost-efficient manner without harm to people and the environment.
General Responsibilities
The CTTL is responsible for the operational, technical, safety, environmental, financial, quality
assurance and administrative aspects of completion and testing strategies and operations.
Overviews all completion and testing operations to ensure compliance with company Oil policies
and statutory regulations.
Support for the completion and testing team in Accra and also liaise with the company Subsurface and Operations groups as required.
Responsible for completion/testing engineering support in Ghana Deepwater (Jubilee Unit Area,
Tano Deep and West Cape Three Points blocks).
Ensures EHS requirements are integral to all aspects of completion, testing and well intervention
activities.
Contribute to delivering operational EHS performance.
Ensures that all completion activities comply with company standards and governmental
regulations.
Provides completions input to team and well engineering delivery objectives as necessary.
Provide input into the specification of completion, well testing and well intervention related
equipment and services in accordance with company procedures.
Ensures that all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons
learned are captured for the benefit of future company operations worldwide.
Ensure well material and service providers comply with specified quality assurance
requirements.
Liaise with sub-surface personnel to ensure reservoir requirements are delivered.
Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal/external stakeholders and

service companies.
Specific Responsibilities
EHS
Ensures EHS is at the highest priority in all elements of programme delivery
Demonstrates and publicises company commitment to EHS to all parties including the offshore
crews by regular offshore visits
Implement and monitor EHS plans for all operations
Operational Support
Ensure well completion & testing objectives are understood by all departmental personnel, and
are delivered.
Provide technical and operational support in completions & testing operations including the
design, execution, and post job analysis as needed.
Maintains continuous familiarity with daily completions & testing operations to ensure full
understanding of issues and operational problems
Ensure KPI's for completions & testing are agreed and understood prior to each well and
performance is monitored and reported against.
Departmental Management
Develop interfacing / communication documentation on "how we work" between the various
teams
Provide completions & testing interface with the company subsurface team in London and
exploration team in Cape Town as required.
Provide completions & testing interface with JV partners.
Provide completions & testing interface with Project Teams
Provide completions & testing input to Operational team in Accra.
Responsible for providing cost reporting against the completions & testing aspects of the Ghana
Jubilee Well Engineering Budget.
Provide input to completions & testing KPI's and performance related topics.

Provide technical input to TCM's, UOC's and other partner / management meetings.
Co-ordinate Peer Review / Project Reviews.
Initiate and co-ordinate technical studies where required.
Provide technical interface with C&P London for completions & testing work.
Provide completions & testing input into any future development work.
Supports the ICWEM in the implementation of the Accra Well Engineering Management
System.
Qualifications
A University degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or petroleum
engineering.
Fluent in English both written and spoken.
Interpersonal skills necessary to establish good working relationships with team.
High proficiency with IT and industry software including
WellCat or other Tubing Movement Modelling
Prosper or other Nodal Analysis Software
Drill String Design with emphasis on Torque / Drag Modelling
MS Suite
Valid survival certification
Experience
Extensive experience as a completions engineer with operating companies.
Subsea completions experience within the last five years in water depths greater than 800 metres.
Knowledge and experience in design and running of Cased Hole Frac Packs, Open Hole Gravel
Packs, subsea well testing, and subsea tree / landing string systems.
Work experience in remote locations and knowledge of work environments in West Africa.

Well Testing Operator


Job Description:
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision; maintains and oversees all Well Testing equipment during the rigging
up to ensure they are working properly and safely, and according to the specific requirements of
the customer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Determine equipment and best method to rig up according to the package selected by the
customer.
2. With the assistance of other operators unloads and assembles the equipment to be used, sets up
the service unit, and initiates the rig up.
3. Provides training, guidance, and leadership in the operation of well testing equipment,
to less experienced personnel.
4. Works on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, except for regularly scheduled days-off
period. To be available on short notice for performing work duties.
5. Will be familiar with correct SOP & QA/QC procedures, and perform basic routine equipment
maintenance in preparation for next job.
6. Required to pull travel trailers to job site according to local regulations.
7. Performs routing readings of equipment during rigging up to ensure equipment is performing
according to customer's requirements while maintaining a safe operation at all times.
8. When needed, assist with maintenance, painting, grinding, calibrating, and any other
equipment/facility needs. Will utilize maintenance forms to ensure all work is completed
properly or tagged for out of service if required.
9. Observes safe working practices, safety rules and regulations. Complies with Company safety
policies and procedures. Initiates Job Safety Analysis procedures prior to the rig up and for
Safety Meetings as well as tail gate meetings. Corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports
to Product Line Supervisor if not immediately correctable.
10. Attends in-house and/or outside training seminars to acquire basic knowledge of Company
safety programs and policies.
11. Acts to develop TETRA services in becoming a "Best-in-Class" service provider by working
to ensure seamless operations as viewed by the customer.
12. Promotes Company Image by ensuring facilities and vehicles are clean and well
maintained. Personal appearance will also be clean and uniforms/PPE will be clean and will
only have company approved signs on them
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUISITES:
1. Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to three years
of job related experienced; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
manuals, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to
speak and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers
and other employees of the organization.
3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret
bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with and solve practical problems and deal with a variety
of concrete variables in standardized situations.
5. Pass the required physical examination and drug screen as well as a Motor Vehicle Record
check. Certain locations may require possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License with
Hazardous Material and Air Brake endorsements. Fork Life Operator License may also be
required.

DUTIES
* Prepare accurate tickets, job reports, time sheets, and other administrative forms.

* Visually inspect stabbing equipment and tools before, during, and after job to
ensure safe working conditions.
* Available on a 24 hour basis to respond to customer needs.

physical constraints of the job.
