Moving from students desk to teachers desk is not an easy task as expected.

In order
to conduct a lesson smoothly, a teacher has to ensure he has a good classroom management.
If the pupils are misbehaving in the classroom, a teacher could not conduct the lesson properly
nor will the pupils be able to extract the knowledge from the lesson. Hence, a teacher has to
ensure the pupils are well behaved in the classroom in order to have efficient teaching and
learning process. Besides, I learnt teaching is not matter of using the textbook or blackboard to
teach the pupils. There must be interactive interaction between the teachers and the pupils in
order to ensure the sharing of knowledge happens two ways not one way. It could transfer of
knowledge from peer to peer or teacher to pupils. Learner- centred activity will allow the pupils
to play their roles in the class. This would ensure the pupils seek for knowledge, share their
knowledge with peers and are able to detect their talents. Teachers role and responsibility is
never ending as the teacher has to ensure the students are able to grab the knowledge that
would help to shape them into a good human.
I have realized the role of a teacher in dealing with this kind of students. Besides, I
realized as a future teacher I have to prepare interesting activity and lesson to be conducted in
the classroom where it could grab the students attention. Creativity and innovative is also
crucial for a teacher as teaching kits that creative and actively engage the students would
overcome this kind misbehaviours. Hence, activities such walking around the school with the
pupils to teach direction would attract them to focus on the lesson as they are directly involved
with teaching and learning process. Besides, the usage of video to teach direction also
improved the pupils attention level. They tend to focus better in the classroom during the lesson
and able to grab the information as the graphics and songs attract them.
First of all, as a teacher I ensured the students are all prepared for that days lesson.
This includes physical and mental aspect. This crucial as if the students are not prepared to this
would disrupt the lesson as the students are not interested and would not be able to grab the
information. Besides, our group has given proper instruction before we allow the students to
conduct the activity. This helped us as clear instructions would ensure the students are able to
produce the card as per intended by the activity. To help the students to have proper
understanding, my group had prepared a few examples of flash cards as visual aid and
guidance for the students. This ensured the students were able to understand and grab the
information efficiently.

Based on the micro teaching I conducted, the weakness that has been identified is from
the aspect of materials. As I am teaching primary school pupils, as a teacher I should prepare
the raw materials to ensure the students do not bother other students when they forgot to bring
their own. Although I had informed the pupils to bring their own material to conduct the activity,
there are students who still forget to bring their own utensils. It caused problems as the students
shared the items and took a longer time to complete the task that has been given by the
teacher. I realized that in order to prevent the incident occurring again, we have to provide to
correct amount of materials to the students. For our activity, we needed colour papers, scissors,
glue and crayons. Hence, it is our responsibility to provide those materials to the students to
ensure the activity runs smoothly and as it is intended to be. I also realised that I am dealing
with primary school students so there is no use of punishing or scolding them for not bringing
the materials but take the responsibility to serve their needs.
Next, time is a vital element when an activity is being conduct. The teacher has plan the
activity that would ensure the students are able to finish it own time and able to present their
product. During my groups activity, we took a longer time than expected as the students had to
share the materials to complete the task. Hence, not all the students were able to present their
final product. I felt that this was our main weakness as the students would feel that the teacher
does not care about them and would morally bring them down. The students would not give
their full effort during the next lesson. I have learnt that time management is crucial to prevent
this problem and to give opportunity to all the students to present their final product. The bond
between students and teacher are important to ensure a proper teaching and learning process
occurs. The teachers to create an environment to the students feel safe and are able to give
their cooperation with the teacher and the teacher should have interaction with all the students.
