Teacher
spotlight

by Katelyn Kehl
This week, the student
in the spotlight is Audrae
Bates. She is a sophomore
in high school who enjoys
video games, art, and being
with friends. One of her favorite subjects is yearbook,
because she enjoys the artistic outlook on it. Audraes
favorite color is baby blue.
Her favorite sport is softball and her favorite football
team is the Dallas Cowboys.
Her favorite song is Rolling
Stones by Falling In Reverse.

Our school has some
amazing teachers. They
know how to teach, not just
tell, and were grateful for
that. This week the teacher
in the spotlight is Mr. Lovely. Hes new to our schools
staff this year and has done
a pretty good job at coping
with our small school mentality. He comes from Golden
Valley High School in California, so teaching at Fairfax has been a huge change
for him. Mr. Lovely moved to
Maryville after traveling between Hawaii and Colorado
for many years. He is currently engaged.

As you walk around the
hallways of the Fairfax High
School you might catch a
glimpse of some very inspirational quotes! Mark
Staten, the high school English teacher, gave every student in at least one English
class a project. This project
was to choose your favorite
quote, school related or just
anything positive, create a
poster that catches the observers eye, and give a pickme-up to anyone who needs
it! These posters will be up
for the remaining time of
the Fairfax basketball tournament, giving inspiration
and showing compassion for
our visitors.

Blast from
the past

by Garrett Ball
The Fairfax boys basketball team has had a rough
start to the season so far but
plans to finish strong. The
boys have been in the game
every time they have played,
losing many games in the final seconds, with the exception of two. The Bulldogs are
a relatively young and inexperienced team but they
have progressively gotten
better each and every practice and game.
The team has a motto this
season Be in the water, not
the beach. The water represents the team. The farther
you go out into the water the
less of yourself you see; so
the meaning behind Be in
the water, not on the beach
is to invest yourself in the
team and put the teams
success before your own.
Though the season hasnt
gone as planned, the team
has not given up hope. We
continue to leave it all out
on the court and appreciate
your continued support.
