INTRODUCTION

Municipal Corporation Profile


Municipal Corporation (MC) is a progressive local body dedicated to improving
the quality of life of the citizens. A number of key software applications like
property tax, registration of births and deaths, health, commercial complexes,
water and sewerage charges etc. have been developed in addition to internal
accounts and payroll systems for MC.

Grievance Handling System


Having realized the importance of Information Technology in improving
operational efficiency, the department started its computerized efforts early on.
The primary purpose of the Software is to maintain information to monitor and
enhance the performance of the departments.
This pertains to maintenance of details of grievances received, action taken and
status of the grievances. Users with access to the Web can enter their grievances
and find out the status of its processing. Each grievance will be assigned a
unique id for reference.

IMPORTANCE & RELAVENCE OF THE STUDY


Municipal Corporation deals with different day-to-day activities that take place
generally in any system. In the existing manual system huge expenditure and a
lot of time is spent in communicating the information across different branches.
So, there is a need for an integrated automated system, which has some
centralized control over the entire process.
The following drawbacks of the existing system emphasize the need for
computerization of the Grievance Handling System:
Conventional System makes use of huge amounts of paper for recording
transactions.
Difficulty in tracking and retrieving data from the abundant papers is quite
difficult.

Avoids Data Redundancy and Inconsistency.
Paper work is drastically reduced.
Retrieval and access of data is easy and fast.

Proposed System
Full on-line data entry with online validations on field and referential checking,
the goal of the system is to bring down the workload with the increased
efficiency and to speed up the activities.
The major activities of Grievance Handling Module are to receive various types
of grievances from citizens, facilitate for speedy processing of Grievances
received, Updating the status of Grievances as and when required, informing the
citizen about the action taken by the MC and Generation Reports.
User-friendly menu based access to the processes in the system with different
access paths to the different user to ensure the easier access to all the users.
Availability of the information immediately after data captures. An integrated
normalized relational database will be maintained for the organization Pre
defined queries for generation of any specific enquiry purposes.

Methodology
Description:
Now-a-days every organization is centralized. So they are maintaining the all
information in distributed manner as centralized system. This application also
maintains the data in a distributed manner.
This system provides superior management over inventory by optimizing
inventory stocking levels for excellent customer service. It maintains the all
information about the organization regarding grievances, operators, their
respective departments, etc.
This system has Number of Modules as follows:
1. Operator module
2. municipal officer module
3. register grievance module
4. know status of grievance module
5. reminder of grievance module
This system enables to view the updatable inventory levels to the employees in
the organization. This system also contain the purchase module through this
module it can maintain the data about purchasing to whom the products your
buying and from whom you are buying this products

The programming has been done using the language Java.

BACK END:
Oracle

PLATFORM USED:
The Online Grievance Handling System is targeted at Microsoft Windows
platforms.
