INTRODUCTION

On-the-job Training is a method by which students are given a chance to

enhance and share knowledge as well as to develop personality through interacting with
other people. It is part of a college curriculum that intends to train and familiarize
students about the work their going to have in the future. It enables students to apply
the theories and computations they have learned from the school.
Universities require their students to complete such hours of training. It is good in
such a way that the students develop not only their personality but as well as their skills
through performing in actual work setting.
OJT is very important to students as they will be exposed to the actual work
related to the course they are taking. It can help students to be more familiar with
working and they will gain priceless experience that they can take throughout their
future careers. The experience that students would acquire is very important when
applying for a job.

SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Oriented by the Site Engineers on what we will have to work for the entire 240
hours of our training. The engineers guide us onto the on-going construction. We were
taught about punchlisting of job orders of the contractors by Engr. Eric. We checked
punch listed job orders for necessary back jobs the contractors must work on. We
checked punch listed job orders for necessary back jobs the contractors must work on.
We did punchlisting of job orders given by Ms. Michelle. We did final inspection of
turnover units for block 4, 5, 6 and 7 given by Engr. Jeff. Assisted in moving-in of
buyers for Block 19 Lot 44 for morning and Block 22 Lot 44 for the afternoon. We did
inspection of turnover units for punchlisting of Legian 2-C.

PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

During the training, I have faced and encountered problems regarding to such
matters that goes in the office, at the site and the people around me. These problems
are the following:
1. Not wearing of Personal Protective Equipment of the engineers and workers at
the site.
2. Contractors not ensuring whether the punch lists were already finished or not by
the workers they assign that is why the engineers keep on repeating and then
finding out that the repairs are not yet completed.
3. Some parts of the structure were not aligned.
4. Incorrect measurement of layout that caused delay.
5. The in-charge for checking of the materials delivered requested by contractors do
not properly execute his duty that is why it was sometimes found out that there
were deficiency in materials.

RECOMMENDATION

1. Even though the company is providing the engineers the PPE that they need in
order to ensure safety, the engineers themselves are still not wearing it. So I
strongly suggest to the head of the Engineering Department to strictly implement
the wearing of PPE while engineers are at the site. Also, the contractors should
as well be responsible for the safety of its workers that is why s/he should also
strictly implement wearing of PPE.
2. Contractors should always consider every detail before construction to avoid
problems and then cause additional work and loss of budget. Regarding with the
drop that should be considered first by the contractor, always inspect and check
for it.
3. Contractors should ensure the work of his workers concerning the accurate
measurement of layout of his project.
4. Contractors should ensure that the punch lists were already finished by the
workers before returning the list to the engineers to avoid repetition of punch list
then finding out that the repairs were not yet completed.
5. Proper execution of work assigned to the checker of the delivered materials to
avoid deficiency.
