ACTION PLAN FOR RAISING THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT 2011

SUBJECT : ENGLISH

YEAR 3 ( 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D AND 3E )

INTRODUCTION
Pupils are of different performances. As most of them come from different
circumstances, they are more likely to be influenced by their own mother tongue. They
prefer to communicate among themselves in their own mother tongue, most likely Bahasa
Malaysia.
AIM/OBJECTIVES
The aims of the programmes are:
A. to enable the students to listen to and understand simple spoken English in everyday
situations.
B. to enable the students to speak and respond clearly to everyday situations using
simple English language.
C. to enable students to read and understand different kinds of texts.
TARGET/PASSING TARGET
The passing target in all subjects for the pupils is 95%.
TARGETED PUPILS
Total number of pupils in Year Three for this year is 156.
PROBLEMS FACED

Poor command of the language orally and in written form.

Limited vocabulary range.
Lack of confidence to use the language.
Prefer to use their own mother tongue to communicate among themselves.

CONCLUSION
It is hope that the above suggested programmes will help the pupils to use the
language more confidently to speak, to read and to write accurately. Finally they are able to
do well in their tests and examinations.
