It was cold & the flag was popping

A rather unusual sight below the Fort Peck Dam

right now is the exceptional amount of ice built up,
even along the tailrace. Usually if you hit a nice
day you can put a boat in at Boy Scout Park and zip
upstream to do some fishing. Even though we had
record-warm temperatures a week-and-a-half ago,
the past few nights have been extremely cold and
the low flow of 6,600 cubic feet per second being
released through the power houses is letting the
ice build due to the low current. We probably wont
see any boat traffic in the area of the Interpretive
Center or power houses for a few days even

though warmer weather settles in today including

some light freezing rain that is likely over most
Northeastern Montana counties. Light amounts
of freezing rain are anticipated, but could easily
create travel difficulties and slick walkways. Areas
of freezing rain will move eastward and decline
by Friday morning. Areas to the north could see a
mix of snow and freezing rain, while areas to the
south could see a mix of freezing rain and rain.
Highs this weekend are looking to be well into the
40s but, as usual, accompanied by wind. But that
should help to bust up the ice in the photo above.

American Sniper Chris Kyle

essential in Fallujah liberation

The importance of military sharpshooters such as

American Sniper Chris Kyle (currently showing at
Valley Cinemas) was never better demonstrated than
during the 10-month struggle to take Fallujah in 2004.
Mr. Zinke, a freshman Republican from Montana,
talked with The Washington Times as some on the
political left have disparaged the job of a sniper in
war and dismissed the blockbuster movie American
Sniper, based on Kyles same-titled memoir.
Rep. Ryan K. Zinke, a former Navy SEAL, said
marksmen like American Sniper author Chris Kyle are
crucial to U.S. military operations. A sniper provides
protection of the ground troops for movement. Troops,
oftentimes in an urban environment, are limited in their
sight picture. A sniper is able to see around the corner
and protect the troops movements.

$200 Per Barrel Oil? OPEC Gets Bullish

From the Northern
Ag Networks Flint Report
comes this:
Could we not only
soon see an oil price
rebound, but maybe
even $200 per barrel
oil? Thats what OPECs
Secretary General had
to say. Matt Dilallo, The
Motley Fool, has this for
BusinessInsider.com:

OPEC just got very

bullish on oil

Right now, the oil

market is totally focused
on finding a bottom
for oil prices. However,
according to OPECs
Secretary-General
Abdulla al-Badri, weve
already hit bottom.

Not only that, but he
sees a real possibility that
oil prices could explode
higher to upwards of
$200 per barrel in the
future. Hes far from
the only one that sees a
return of triple-digit oil
prices.
Instead, he offered
bullish comments by
saying, Now the prices
are around $45-$55,
and I think maybe they
[have]
reached
the
bottom and we [will]
see some rebound very
soon. Now, normally
that type of remark
would be just another
layer of noise, but this
is coming from OPECs
secretary-general
so
it comes with weight
behind it.

Heres a shirt Charlie Maag probably would have received

from his buddies in Seattle had the Seahawks just gave the
ball to Marshawn Beast Mode Lynch.

At least it aint going to waste

While the New England Patriots Super Bowl

Championship merchandise is flying off the shelves in
New England and across the country following Sundays
big win, the same gear made for the Seattle Seahawks in
case they were victorious will not go to waste.

Sealed boxes of T-shirts, caps and sweatshirts naming
the Seahawks Super Bowl champs will be shipped to a
warehouse, according to the GuardianOpens in a new
window. The items will be sorted and then shipped
overseas to those in need and those who could care less
that the incorrect victor is printed on the items.
One of the donated items will include a Seahawks
back-to-back champions T-shirt, as a Seattle TV reporter
tweeted out after the loss.

In 1996, the NFL stopped destroying the losing teams
merchandise, and since then, has leaned on Washingtonbased World Vision to distribute the goods. This year,
the NFL has switched gears and will rely on Good 360 to
distribute the defeated teams apparel.

The NFL likes the concept of an umbrella organization
that has the ability to meet many different charitable
organizations, Cindy Hallberlin, CEO of Good360, a
Virginia-based organization that distributes donated
goods to a network of more than 32,000 pre-qualified
charities, schools and libraries on behalf of Americas top
brands, said. World Vision is part of our network, but
were able to reach more organizations.
Last year World Vision shipped the Denver Broncos
(Omaha! Hee-aw, Hee-aw) memorabilia to Africa, but
past shipmentsan estimated 100,000 T-shirts and caps
annuallyhave gone to Armenia, Bosnia, El Salvador, Haiti,
Nicaragua, Romania, Uganda, Zambia in previous years.
