To University of California Regents and Student Association:

We are citizens of Israel, who oppose our government's policies of
racism, occupation and apartheid against the Palestinian people.
We express our support for all efforts to divest from the Israeli
occupation, for all the reasons mentioned therein, and for the
travesties of justice we witness with our own eyes on a daily basis, as
local activists. We ask that the University of California students, faculty
and administration support all efforts to divestment from companies
complicit in the severe violation of Palestinian human rights.
As Israeli citizens, we boycott the settlements by refusing to set foot in
them, and by boycotting products made there, however the military
occupation and its dividends for the state and private corporations are
so normalized, it is impossible for us to have a profound effect on
Israel's well-oiled system of oppression. It is because of this that we
have decided to support the Palestinian call to civil society worldwide
to also boycott, divest and sanction the mechanisms of oppression
Israel employs against the Palestinian people.
It is the obligation of each and every one of us to- at the very leastdo no harm. Your divestment from companies involved in Israel's
occupation will disassociate you from the harm Israel, along with the
private corporations Caterpillar Inc., G4S PLC and Veolia
Environnement, are inflicting on the Palestinian people. In addition to
that, your divestment is a way to empower us, on a local level, to take
the civil society actions needed to achieve justice. Divestment is a
non-violent, ethical tool, which can prevent further bloodshed and
promote justice for everyone in the region.
Sincerely,
Boycott! Supporting the Palestinian BDS Call from Within
