February News 2015

MPD Training
I had the privilege of attending
a wonderful weekend long
Ministry Partner Development
Training at my home church
last month. It was helpful for
me and inspiring to see the
amount of people interested in
going into full-time missions
and ministry.

Chattanooga
Last weekend I was in
Chattanooga for Conclave.
Conclave is a large youth
workers convention held
annually. One of my coworkers and I were Mission
Discovery representatives
there. We met several leaders
and were encouraged by the
amount of contacts we
received who are interested in
having their group join us on a
mission trip!

Guatemala
Coming up February 12-20 Ill
be leading a mission trip to
Guatemala! Please keep me
and the team in your prayers. I
cant wait to report back on my
time there.

Laying Blocks
January was a busy month for us here at Mission Discovery! We
had teams hard at work in Eden, Jamaica. If you visit the Jamaica
Christian School for the Deaf in Eden (pictured above), the first
thing you will probably notice is how peaceful it is. There is
something about the property nestled in the Jamaican
countryside that gives a sense of tranquility. The second thing you
will notice is that the school is growing. Right now, there are
multiple buildings in dierent states of construction. JCSD has
dreams. They want to have a large meeting room that can hold all
37 students. They want to build a vocational training center to
provide their high school graduates with practical job skills. They
want to add more sta housing to accommodate the volunteers
who come to help.
One thing that wont be immediately apparent if you visit JCSD,
is that the hands of hundreds of teenagers constructed most of
the existing buildings. Going back almost 15 years, Mission
Discovery teams have slowly added to the original school. Each

teams bring the funds and manpower to make their dreams of
more classroom space a reality. Looking at the campus with this
perspective brings new meaning to the term, many hands make
light work. Construction is slow, but it is consistent. Teams who
have gone with Mission Discovery in the past can return and be
amazed by the progress that occurred while they were away.

In Other News
I have officially become a head
coach at Crossfit Hendersonville!
I am now coaching a couple of
Crossfit classes a week and
finding my time there very
rewarding. Its a blessing to see
people push themselves to their
limits and reach goals they didnt
think possible. Its a different
kind of ministry than what I do
here at Mission Discovery, but I
am already seeing its benefits
and rewards!

Ultimately, this is what makes the Eden Jamaica trip with Mission
Discovery so special. One weeks work is actually an extension of
a fifteen-year commitment. The blocks laid are added to the
thousands, which came before. Each classroom built is another
promise kept. Gods provision is displayed over and over again to
the students and sta at JCSD. They are constantly reminded
that He does not forget.

Support Update
I am still looking to expand my team of ministry partners! Your
