From the Desk of Fr. Underwood:

Ash Wednesday is this WednesdayFebruary
18th and the beginning of Lent! A few Lenten
reminders:
1. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of
Fast and Abstinence.
2. All Fridays of Lent are days of Abstinence.
3. A Fast is for all adults age 18 to 59. On days
of fast a person is allowed one full meal and
two other meals that are sufficient to maintain, but the two other meals
when put together should not be equal to the one full meal. Eating between
meals is prohibited, but liquids including milk or juices may be taken.
4. All children who have completed their 14th year are bound by the Law of
Abstinence. On days of Abstinence no meat is to be eaten. When for
health reasons or your ability to work would be seriously affected the law
does not oblige you.
5. Walk The Way of the Cross: To nourish your Lent, we will continue
offering the Stations of the Cross on Thursday at 2:15pm (with the school
children) and Friday at 7:00pm. Please join us as we ponder the mysteries
of Christs Passion and Death.
Now Accepting Bids for Lawn Mowing We are now accepting bids for the
St. Lawrence lawn mowing and trimming for the 2015 mowing season. For
consideration, written bids must be submitted to the parish office (attention
Fr. Underwood) by Monday February 23rd. Bids should indicate whether you
will supply your own mower, trimmer, blower, gas, and edger (or whether
you would expect the parish to supply and maintain the equipment) as well as
the days of the week you are available to complete the work. For questions
please contact the parish office.
Womens Christ Renews His Parish Its not too late to sign up for next
weekends womens retreat. It will be a wonderful time to nourish your
soul and start Lent off right. For questions or to sign up, please call the
parish office (742-2107).
March 15 Men of Madness By now you have seen this unique event
printed somewhere and wondered what it is all about. In place of Mens
Christ Renews His Parish this year, the team has decided to offer an
exciting fast-paced faith-packed day called Men of Madness. There is
no mistake it is in Marchand the only mistake would be not attending.
Based on the Book of Wisdom, we took our inspiration from this passage:
This is the man whom we once held in derision and made a byword of
reproachwe fools! We thought that his life was madness and that his
end was without honor. (Wisdom 5:4) You might consider it foolish to
participate in a day like this, but I offer you the challenge are you man
enough to be considered a fool for Christ?

Trudy Reece

This conference is open to all adult men in the parish and will be held on
Sat. March 14th from 8:00am6:00pm. We have a day filled with great
stuff. For more information, please contact Deacon Jim Rush.

Heart of Jesus through the Heart of Mary. In our weekly
meetings, Tuesdays from 7-8:30pm, we'll share our insights within
our small groups and then watch a 30 minute video by popular
author and speaker, Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC. The Consecration
to Mary will happen on March 25th, the Solemnity of the
Annunciation, after the 6:30pm Mass. The cost is $30 for the
materials. Contact the parish office at (765) 742-2107 to register.

Parenting Pointer "I establish my
covenant with you." (Genesis 9:11) God's
