The Gap
Being an Entrepreneur is not simple as the word is; they are the creators of the worlds future

.If Thomas Edison didnt realise the need of light bulb we would still be living with lamp
lights. A successful entrepreneur is someone who realise a need which the society is yet to
experience ,a solution to problem which people have been living with ,without consciously
realising it and delivering the same by creating a win win for him/her and others. Thats
why lot of us aspires to be it but only a few ends up being it.
So today LBSEIC presents to you The Gap.
This event brings on to you an opportunity to see the world through lens of REAL LIFE
PUZZLE SOLVER. Check out your surrounding identify where you can fix it and make it
better, where there is a need and no solution.

Rules and regulation :


Each team may consist of maximum 3 members, belonging to same organization.
Each individual can be a part of one and only one team.
Decision of the Panel remains final.
There are no qualification criteria. Team member can be an undergraduate, Post- graduate or
corporate.

If the content/idea at any stage is found similar to anything previously available on internet
the participation of the team stand cancel.

Round 1 (Shortlisting round) : Identify


Participant need to identify a gap each in Indian market or global market where in
there is a problem and no solution is there.
Example: An Indian student staying in hostel wants to have an Indian breakfast in a
restaurant which is economical and as per is taste. There are a lot of local Dhabas
and mess but no standardised chain to provide a regular food which is healthy and
pocket friendly.

Guidelines:
a) Participants need to provide a 300 words synopsis.
b) The problem identified need to be realistic.
c) Gap should be unique and should not be copied from anywhere with modification.

Round 2 : Laying the foundation


Description:
Provide a solution to the problem you identified in stage 1. A detailed description of the
product Final uses and effect would be the final submission by the participants.
Guidelines:
1. Each team will have to give a 5 min presentation.
2. No. of Slides should not be more than 7.
3. Presentation must include a brief current scenario.

Round 3 : Building the bridge


Description: After the stimulation by first two stages now the participant will have to sell the
product idea to the judges . They have to make other understand that there is a need of a
product which they may not be currently using and pursue them to buy it.
Guidelines:
a) Use of props /pictures/furniture is allowed .(Arrangement to be done by
the participants)
b) Participant may use any regional language (if required to please the judges)
Rules and regulations:
a) Each team will be given 5 minutes to position their product in consumers mind.
b) You can develop the prototype of the product or explain it through a presentation or
make an elevators pitch.
