Omake: Difficulty Setting (slight crossover with The Price of Power)

===
I stared at the window hovering in front of me. It had appeared sometime while I
was training last night, but had been buried behind a wall of Skill Level Up!
indicators. Im not sure why I didnt expect this to happen earlier Im a goddamn
video game character, after all. And every game that Ive played had at least this
one thing in common: difficulty settings.
As of Update 1.02.015, the difficulty adjustment menu has been added as
a Beta feature! *We are not responsible for any glitches that occur during
the testing phase.
I would have been stunned if not for Gamers Mind. The idea that all of my problems
could be made so much easier with just a press of a button was simply amazing.
The implication that my Semblance was self-updating evolving was worrying,
however. What would happen if it decided to change the games mechanics, or even
the genre? Was it even powerful enough to do that?
There was nothing I could do about that, though. So I turned my attention back to
the update notification. Raising my hand, I opened the game menu and navigated
to the difficulty tab. I hesitated, remembering the disclaimer. Glitches would be bad.
I would look for now, not touch.
[ ] Beginner for those who are new to video games! Quicksave enabled.
[X] Easy recommended for the first play-through.
[ ] Normal feel like being challenged?
[ ] Hard for hardcore gamers only.
[ ] Lunatic strength through suffering.
What? Easy mode? Dust shortage, shady organizations, Conquest, the other Riders,
Fatherthis was easy mode? I shuddered as I looked over the other options. If Easy
was this bad, what would Lunatic even look like?
You have selected Lunatic Mode!
Before I could even react, I heard an earsplitting roar. I absently noted that I had
gained the status condition Deafened, but my attention was on another window
that had popped up.
Quest Alert!
Daily Grimm Attack: Deathwing Descends!
A Deathwing is attacking the city! Stop it!
Time Limit: 30 minutes
Completion Reward: 84.4 million EXP, 66.9 million Lien, Title: Hero of
Vale

I frantically jabbed the Beginner button, only for a red X to appear over the
window, along with the message:
Prohibited from changing difficulty in the middle of a battle.
Fuck.
If this were a game, I would be raging at the developers so hard right now. But this
was real life, with real consequences. If I ran, hundreds of thousands would die
before I could change the difficulty back. I couldnt let that happen because I was
too curious, too greedy.
I used Soulforge Restoration to remove my deafness. Then I was a spectral white
tiger, leaping through the forest back towards the city, elementals flying ahead of
me. With Acceleration, I was there in less than a minute.

The city burned. An immense draconic Grimm, probably close to 200 meters in
length, flew overhead. From its mouth came a torrent of heat, blasting through
buildings and turning the ground into lava. Hunters and Bullheads swarmed the air,
but every flap of its wings sent them
I navigated to the rooftop where I sensed Ozpin was.
