Hello, my name is Mrs. Williams and I will be
FRIT 7233
sharing a tutorial on how to open and set up an
account with Kidblog. Lets get started!
Kidblog is a website that offers a free safe and
secure blogging platform for teachers and
students. To access Kidblog, we must first open an
internet browser. I will be using Safari for this
tutorial.
Next, click on the URL, or address, bar and type in
www.kidblog.org.
Now, I will show you how to open a new account.
Click on Sign up for Free under the heading
Teachers.
First, decide what you want your display name to
be. This is how your students will see you on the
blog. I am going to use the name Mrs. Williams.
Next, choose a password for your personal account.
This is not the password that will be used by
students. Next, type in the email address you want
associated with your account. Finally, type in a class
name for your blog. My class blog is going to be
Mrs. Williams Wild Things.
Alright, now we just need to type in the verification
code and click Create Class.
We have now created a new Kidblog account! Right
now, we are looking at the Kidblog Dashboard.
Here you see a welcome message. I am going to
follow Kidblogs recommendation and start by
creating a new post. First, click on New Post.
This is going to be a very brief post! Ill title it, Hello
from Mrs. Williams! In the body of the post, I will
type a quick message to
my students. Hello everyone! Welcome to our class
blog.
Make sure you save your post. If you want to start a
post and return to it later, it will be saved under
drafts. If you would like to preview a post to see
how it will appear on your blog, click preview blog.
You can also choose to publish your post at a later
date. This would be useful if you use Kidblog to
create future assignments for your students. Im
going to publish this post immediately.
