Essential Qualifications:
(Post Code: A 37 & A 41)
a. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/ allied/relevant discipline and
published work of high quality actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a
minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/ policy papers.
(ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/ college, and/or experience in
research at the University/ National level institutions/ industries, including experience of guiding
candidates for research at doctoral level.
(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology
mediated teaching learning process.
(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performances Indicator (API) based
Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC Regulations, 2010 Appendix III- as
amended on 13th June, 2013 vide Gazette Notification dated 24th July, 2013.

b. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made
significance contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/ relevant discipline, to be
substantiated by credentials.

(i) Essential:
A Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelors or Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of
Engineering & Technology, and experience of ten years in teaching, research, and/or industry, out of
which at least five years at the level of Associate Professor/ Reader or equivalent grade.
Or,
(ii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
(1) First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology;
(2) Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in
appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology and industrial/professional experience of ten
years , out of which at least five years at a senior level of Associate Professor/ Reader;
Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is
recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by the ViceChancellor of the University.

research degree.

(ii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
(1) First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology;
(2) Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in
appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology and industrial/professional experience of

Engineering & Technology, and experience of eight years in teaching, research and/or industry at the
level of Lecturer or equivalent grade excluding period spent on obtaining the research degree.
Or,
(ii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
(1)First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology;
(2) Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in
appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology and industrial/professional experience of eight

Essential Qualifications:
Post Code: C 62, C63, C64, C65, C66, C67, C68, C69, C 70, C 80, C 81, C82, C83 & C 84:
(i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an
equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a
relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign
university;
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility
Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET;
(iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.1 of UGC regulations
2010, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University
Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009,
shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for
recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/
Institutions.
(iv) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in discipline for which
NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

(i) Essential
First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering & Technology;
(ii) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:

(2) Papers presented at Conferences and/or in referred journals.

General Instructions to the Candidates:


TA will be paid to candidates called for interview as per University rules.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and masters level for the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled
Tribe/ Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and
for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of
55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of
5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including
any grace mark procedures.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have
obtained their Masters Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M. Phil and/or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as
teaching/ research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.
Application fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
The University will not be responsible for any kind of postal delay.
(i) Application after the last date, (ii) incomplete in any respect and, (iii) any fresh paper/ enclosures after
closing date, shall not be considered.
The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at any time at the time of
appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the
candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/ background and has suppressed the said
information, then his/her services shall be terminated.
Candidates should send self-attested copies of certificates and mark-sheets from Secondary Examination
onwards in support of their qualifications. Originals must be produced at the time of interview for verification.
In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the
issue of appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication
made to the candidates.
In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall
be final.
Applicants who are in employment should route their applications through proper channel. However, they can
send the advance copy of the application.
The rules of UGC/ MHRD, Govt. of India in regard to Pay & Allowance, Leave, Pension and P.F. shall be followed
subject to amendments if any, from time to time.
No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delay, conduct and result of interview
and queries for not being called for interview.
Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
No interim correspondence shall be entertained.
The University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised if the circumstances so warrant.
The vacant post advertised may increase or decrease.
The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle
candidates to be called for interview.
Short-listing of the applicants, if necessary, shall be made on academic records / higher educational
qualifications and experiences. The decision of the Screening Committee in regard to short listing the
candidates from amongst the total number of applications received, shall be binding for all.
Any change of address given in the application form should at once be communicated to the University.
Except in the case of SC/ST/PWD and Women application without the requisite fee will not be considered.
Separate application should be submitted for separate post.
The University reserves the right to consider any candidate who has not formally applied.
No accommodation will be provided in the University Guest House for attending the Interview.
Call letters to attend the interview will be sent only to the shortlisted candidates by E-mail or Speed Post or
Registered Post. No Correspondence will be made with applicants who are not short-listed and have not called
for interview.
UGC Rules & Regulations shall be applicable as and when amended.

Note I The API score for papers in refereed journal would be augmented as follows:
(i) indexed journals by 5 points; (ii) papers with impact factor between 1 and 2 by 10 points; (iii)
papers with impact factor between 2 and 5 by 15 points; (iv) papers with impact factor between 5
and 10 by 25 points.
If a paper presented in Conference/Seminar is published in the form of Proceedings, the points
would accrue for the publication III(A)(3) and not under presentation III(C).

Note II
1. The API for joint publications will have to be calculated in the following manner: Of the total
score for the relevant category of publication by the concerned teachers, the First/Principal author
and the corresponding author/supervisor/mentor of the teacher would share equally 60% of the
total points and the remaining 40% would be shared equally by all other authors.
2. The parameters listed in table of Category-III (Research and Academic contributions) shall have
following capping in relation to the total API score claimed by the candidates as amended in UGC
Regulations, 2013:
