2.2.1 Etiologia
Nos animais e no ser humano diferentes fatores so identificados
como causa da doena, sendo estes, trauma, fratura intra-articular, subluxao
ou luxao articular, defeitos de conformao e deformidade angular (VEIGA,
2006).
A DAD classificada em primria quando sua origem
desconhecida e secundria quando h fatores predisponentes a ocorrncia de
defeitos de conformao e infeco articular (SCHMITZ et al., 2010).
Considerando as estruturas envolvidas, a patognese e o diagnstico VEIGA
(2006) prope trs classificao. DAD tipo I, associada sinovites e capsulites
DAD tipo II, secundria a fraturas, injrias no osso subcondral, artrite infecciosa
e leses ligamentares e, DAD tipo III onde se observa eroso no progressiva
da cartilagem articular.
De acordo com CARON (2003) a etiopatogenia da DAD no est
totalmente esclarecida. Acredita-se que propriedades biomecnicas anormais
da cartilagem articular (SANTOS, 2009), alteraes fsicas no osso subcondral
associadas a deficiente absoro de impactos decorrente ao adelgaamento da
cartilagem articular (CARON, 2003) e injrias celulares com alteraes
metablicas
dos

sejam
