Space and Communications Engineering Program

Program Description
The Space and Communications Engineering Program puts special emphasis on topics that are
fundamental to space and satellite communication, such as the earth and its atmosphere, dynamics
of air and fluids, and principles of electromagnetic radiation. During the first two to three years of
study, students are provided with comprehensive training in mathematics and physical sciences, as
well as a strong foundation in communications technology.

Program Vision
The vision of the Space and Communication Engineering (SCE) program is to create an
interdisciplinary program continuously and mutually collaborating with the university-wide
programs, the research institutes, the technology pyramid and strategic planning center in order to
build competence and capability in space engineering that will help to ensure the future
competitiveness of Egypt and leverage the university among the worlds premier research
universities.

Program Mission
The mission of the SCE program is to create, evaluate, share, and provide knowledge and rigorous
educational preparation of our students in the interdisciplinary fields of SCE that will enable them to
be leaders in the society and key player participants in the scientific and technological advancement
of Egypt and the welfare and prosperity of its citizens. This will be achieved through fostering
academic excellence and ensuring that world-class educational and research and development
facilities are available to all students, faculty and researchers in our university and the Egyptian
scientific community.
