News and Prayer Letter March 2015

Things are melting here, which reminds us that Spring is coming! It also makes things slushy and wet,
but well take it.
Looking back
Its hard to believe, but this month will be our 1 year anniversary. Last March, was our last month
serving at Middletown Road Baptist. We are overwhelmed with what God has done and how He has
provided over the last year. As we started into church planting, we believed that it would take time to
build relationships and establish ourselves. This has proved true. God has been at work and has given
us many opportunities to share His Gospel and love to the people of Brookline. There have been 21
different people from the community that have come to our weekly Bible study, which averages about 9
currently. God has opened many doors of evangelism. God has allowed us to develop a few great
relationships with local community groups and organizations that have been wonderful bridge building
opportunities to reach the people in the community. Our support level has continued to be steady and
God has given us faithful financial and prayer supporters. We have had ups and downs over this 1st
year, but the journey has been a growing experience and a blessing. Have there been times of
discouragement and difficulty? Yes, but God is using each trial and blessing to grow us into the image
of His Son. We pray that His name would be lifted up and honored in our ministry over this next year.

Looking ahead
With the 1st year behind us, we are excited for this next year.
Servant Evangelism- Our Valentines Day and soccer outreaches went great. We passed out
over 500 Valentines and 200 soft pretzels during the 2 outreaches. We had several
conversations and opportunities to introduce ourselves to people. We are slowly building a
reputation of a church that doesnt take donations and wants to simply love people. This
month we are planning to take that love to the laundromats! We will be going to a couple
laundromats with donuts, coloring books (for kids), and quarters. We plan on paying for
laundry, and while people are waiting for their laundry using that time to talk with them.
Relationships- Winter is difficult to meet people because many people just dont come out
much. However, God has continued to allow us to meet different people through some of the
community connections that we have established and through doing simple things for
neighbors and co-workers. As a result of the library game night, we were able to have 1
couple over for some games and snacks. They are new to Brookline, and seemed very
appreciative that we had them over. Pray for Rein and Emily.
Canvassing- As the weather gets better, we will be looking to do more canvassing and Bible
distribution. If you or your church would like to help with this, let us know.
Job update- We wanted to let you know that Pete got the management job that he had
applied for. This will give him more stability as he continues to work full-time while him and
Elisabeth serve alongside of us. Pray for them as he starts this new position next week.
We continue to pray for additional partners. If you know of someone living or moving into this
area that you think would be a good fit in our ministry, please let us know.

kick the soccer ball

Fun stuff
Avalons soccer team won their first round playoff game. Avalon scored the game winning goal. She
has developed her soccer game a lot since last year. Her next game is this Saturday.
May the Lord find us faithful,
