Guidelines
Dos

A title needs to be written and underlined

Write a minimum of 3 paragraphs (Introduction, body and conclusion).

Look for ways to compare data.

Use sequence expressions e.g: first of all, after that, at the same time,
next, finally

Think about tenses and time, particularly when comparing data.

Describe and report information.

Organize your information clearly. You will need an : (1) introduction (2)body
(3) conclusion

Read through what you have written.


Donts

Dont start writing immediately.


Do not copy the question or the instruction.
Dont repeat the same words in the chart in your essay.
Do not include information that is not on the graph, diagram or chart.
Dont give opinions.
Do not spend longer than 40 minutes on this task.

MUET Writing Task 2 (60%)

Do task 2 first, because it is worth more mark and easier.


Dont waste too much time on Task 1.
You must complete both tasks.
Avoid all informal ways of writing.
Relax before the test!
Dont write statements that are too general. Back up your statements with facts.
Have at least 5 paragraphs
