Editorial
The volume Procedia of Interdisciplinarity was initiated
by the Centre of Research, Resources and European Studies,
European Association for Promoting Excellence in Education and
Research, the Department of Educational Sciences University of
Oradea and the Department of Research, University of Wales
Romania in a joint effort to share the results of the scientific
research undergone by their members within the research project
Promoting the Society of Knowledge through Education and
Interdisciplinary Research
(RO/2013/ PSKEIR-02), and to
contribute to the existing interdisciplinary research in the field.
The present volume (Humanities) is a collected volume,
which, in addition to the research articles mentioned above,
contains selected papers from the contributions delivered at the
International Conference DSCEI2014, held in Oradea on June,
2014.
In adition to its contribution to the existing research in the
fields of linguistics, literature ESP and cultural studies, the volume
is also meant to be a source of inspiration for younger researchers
and students.

The coordinator of the present volume would like to thank the
contributors and all those who facilitated networking within the
members of the project, including Professor Floare Chipea, PhD
(Dean) and Associate Prof. Karla Peter, PhD and Viorica Banciu
PhD from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Department
of Educational Sciences, University of Oradea, our colleagues from
the University of Wales Romania: Assoc. Prof. Diana Roioru

Notes on Scientific Board


Lus Miguel Barbosa Proena, PhD, is professor at ISMAI
Instituto Superior da Maia, Portugal. He is presently a researcher
at CELCC Center for Studies on Language, Communication and
Culture at ISMAI and author of several papers on Linguistics, ESL
Teaching, Decision Theory, Software Applications, and Network
Planning.
Aleksey Arkadievich Romanov, PhD, hab., is professor at
National-Research Tomsk Politechnical University, Russia, where
he teaches Morphology, Discourse, Semantics, Linguistics in social
interaction, Fundamental communication, Logic and argumentation
theory, Modern International Policy Studies, etc. Professor
Romanov is the author of over 380 articles, most of them on
semantics and pragmatics, has published several scientific and
teaching books, and edits A world of linguistics and
communication. He has received the distinction Honoured Science
Worker of Russian Federation, and is member in several
organizations, including the International Academy of
Informatization, and the International Academy of psychological
sciences.
Viorica Banciu, PhD, is a reader in Didactic and Foreign
Languages at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences,
Department of Education, University of Oradea. Her interests are
ESP, Linguistics, Pedagogy, and Globalization. She authored 7
books and more than 30 scientific papers published in Romania
and abroad, of which 20 being covered by various international
databases. She is currently coordinating the collective volume
"Investing in Science and Research. Vol. 3 Education".
Ramona Simu, PhD, is a reader in Comparative Literature and
Literary Theory at Emanuel University of Oradea, Romania, and
Director of the Emanuel University Press. Ramona Simu authored
4 books and 11 scientific papers, and edited and translated 61
volumes published by various international publishing houses. Her
most recent publications are: Thomas Mann i faetele tragicului n

secolul XX, Dimensions of Criticism. From Irony to Praxis in


Literature and Language, and The Literature of Expatriates.
Mariana Cernicova-Buc, PhD, is a reader at the Department of
Communication and Foreign Languages, Politehnica University
of Timioara. Author of 12 books on stylistics, journalism and
modern history, she focused her research on applied linguistics,
communication sciences and political science. Her professional
experience includes translation, counselling in public relations,
academic management (provost of a private university, 20042008), and political journalism. She is distinguished with the
National Order for Merit in Education (2004). She is a member of
the European Communication and Research Association, European
vice-president of the Alliance of Universities for Democracy, vicepresident of the Association for Romanian Media History, vicepresident of the Centre for Ethical Resources and Initiatives and a
member of the Association for Professors in Journalism and
Communication. She is a book reviewer and editor for
the AUDEM: International Journal of Higher Education and
Democracy and for Professional Communication and Translation
Studies.
Larisa Alekseevna Romanova, PhD, hab., is professor at Tver
State University, Russia, where she teaches English grammar
(morphology and syntax), Russian Language and Culture of
Speech, Conflictology, Rewriting, Psychology of mass
communications. She is the author of over 160 scientific and
teaching and guiding books, articles on semantics and pragmatics.
Svilen Stanchev, PhD, is is a reader of English linguistics at the
School of Modern Languages of St. Cyril and St. Methodius
University of Veliko Turnovo in Bulgaria. He has taught courses on
syntax and semantics, functional grammar, sociolinguistics and
contrastive linguistics at various Bulgarian universities as well as
the University of Bielefeld in Germany. Svilen Stanchev has
published extensively in the area of functional grammar and
contrastive linguistics. He is author of a book on (in)transitivity
and predicate formation in English and Bulgarian.

Malysheva Ekaterina Valerievna, PhD, is reader at Tver State


Agricultural Academy, Russia, where she teaches English
grammar, French grammar, translation practice (English), Nation's
economy and culture of Great Britain, Russian language and
culture of speech. She authored more than 80 articles on linguistic
studies and several scientific and teaching books.
Sebastian Chirimbu, PhD, is a reader at the Department of
Research, University of Wales Romania and also at the Specialized
Languages, Faculty of Letters within Spiru Haret University,
Bucharest, Romania, and mentor-trainer in Management and
European Affairs. A graduate of Foreign Languages and Literature
Faculty and of various programs in communication management,
human resources, specialized terminologies (EU), including a postgraduate studies program in Management at the National School of
Political Studies, Sebatian Chirimbu is the author of 20 textbooks
and university courses in institutional and diplomatic discourse,
translation studies, globalization studies, and terminology. In the
last 3 years, he published more than 45 articles on globalization,
terminology, EU integration process and Eurolect / Eurojargon.
Daniel Dejica, PhD, is a reader at Politehnica University of
Timisoara, Romania. His research interests include translation
theory and methodology, LSP translation, and discourse analysis
for translation purposes. Daniel Dejica is a member of the
Advanced Translation Research Center (ATRC) team at the
University of Saarbrucken, Germany and a member of the Doctoral
Studies Committee of the European Society for Translation
Studies.
He has been co-editing the Proceedings of the
Professional Communication and Translation Studies conference,
organized at Politehnica University of Timioara since 2001; he is
also a member in the editorial boards of other international peerreviewed journals including conneXions: international professional
communication journal (University of Lisbon) or MuTra Journal
(University of Saarbrucken).
Denisa Drguin, PhD, is a senior lecturer at Spiru Haret
University, Romania, teaching Contemporary English Language

(Syntax), English Practical Course, and Teaching English as a


Foreign Language. She is the author of 4 books and more than 30
articles on linguistics and discourse analysis. She was editorial
secretary of the Annals of Spiru Haret University, PhilologyForeign Languages and Literatures Series between 2002 and 2007.
Since 2008 she has been assistant editor-in-chief of the above
mentioned periodical.
Adina Barbu-Chirimbu, PhD, is a senior lecturer at the
Department of Philology Languages, Faculty of Letters within
Spiru Haret University, Bucharest, Romania, and mentor-trainer
in multiculturalism and European studies. A graduate of Foreign
Languages and Literature Faculty, Department of Finance and
Banking, and of various programs in specialized terminology and
translation studies (legal, marketing, statistics) including a postgraduate studies program in Applied Linguistics (University of
Bucharest), she is the author of several scientific articles and of 5
textbooks and university courses (in GE, English teaching,
translation studies, globalization studies, and terminology).
Aba-Carina Prlog, PhD, is a senior lecturer at the Department of
Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Timioara.
Her fields of interest are contemporary literature, literary and
specialised translations. She has published numerous papers at
home and abroad, as well as the books The Clash between Body
and Mind: Orwell, Beckett and Durrell, Timioara, University
Press (2006), Translating the Body (co-authored), Mnchen,
Lincom (2007) and Harbingers and Agents of Postmodern
Literature, Timioara, University Press (2011).
Dara Tafazoli is a lecturer at the University of Applied Science &
Technology, Iran, where he teaches English for specific purposes
(ESP) and English as a foreign language (TEFL). He is the editor
of two books and author of more than 50 articles on applied
linguistics. His research interests include CALL (Computer
Assisted Language Learning) and ESP.
