ROTARY CLUB OF BEAUMARIS WEEKLY BULLETIN

Next Meetings

Presidents Report
Counting the days now to Conference and
our Farmers Market and I know both will be
a great success. Plus, in the near future,
we have our Tennis Club event, ANZAC
100th evening, Glow for Good, and, before
very long, The Mayoral Golf Day. Who said
things were slowing down in the last part of
the Rotary year!!!
We welcomed Martin Fothergill back this
week, along with our three prospective
members, Lyn, Max and Jason. Our speaker Andrew Home educated us on the complexities of Bankruptcy and Receivership.

Bob McArthur is working on an event for

ROMAC, and hopefully we will secure the
services of Max Walker to talk on May 30th.
More to come shortly on this, and we are
trying to get more of the public along to help
support ROMAC.

Notes from PETS

(President Elect Training Seminar)

Thursday 23 April

held at the Federation University Ballarat 28/2

to 1/3

See details on Page 5

Federation University is a very pleasant campus, it will be a lovely place to have the Conference. I learnt a lot particularly around the
requirements for any potential Rotary Foundation grants and the rigorous process involved, as well as the close contact with
RAWCS required. I also found out about the
Rotary Australia Benevolent Society (RABS,
like all things in Rotary it has an acronym)
which is an Australian vehicle to funnel benevolent donations through. The priorities of
the incoming DGE (District Governor Elect)
David Tolstrup are - Mental Health/ Domestic
Violence/Men's Health/ Road Safety/
Indigenous initiatives -The theme is " Be a
Gift to the World"
Dates for the Diary -Sunday 17th May, District
Assembly at Parkdale Secondary College, in
July DG David and Alison Tolstrup are due to
visit us.
