Student
Activities
At KSOM, the student community regularly gets
involved in a host of extracurricular activities that
not only help the students escape from the rigorous
grinds of management studies but also builds and
shapes their creative sides and soft skills.
Academic clubs on the other hand further hones their management skills by organizing events
related to the various aspects of management. The clubs bring together group-work, leadership skills,
creativity, hard work, management principles and general camaraderie in an entertaining way. Some
of the major activities that takes place as part of student activities are as below:
Campus Magazine
The Literary Society launched an in-campus
magazine called Pravah containing both
management and non-management articles
contributed by the student and faculty
community. Since then the newsletter has had
four issues and has received accolades from
multiple quarters for reinventing itself every time.
Entrepreneurial Venture
Entrepreneurship Club took up an initiative to
start a Green Caf within the premises. It would
be a store made up of recyclable materials that
would cater to the daily necessities (such as
mobile recharge vouchers and stationary) of the
students. It has successfully organized large
Entrepreneurship Haats which saw participation
from several reputed brands along with students
donning their entrepreneurial caps.

Seminar Lectures
To foster multi-dimensional learning that goes
beyond the traditional classroom based pedagogy,
KSOM regularly organizes various seminar talks for
the students and faculty members.
Sports Committee
KSOM has always imbibed the spirit of sports into its
elements. The Sports Committee looks after the
different sports activities (indoor & outdoor) organized
in the campus and the University. Throughout the
year, various sporting events such as Cricket, Table
Tennis and Football tournaments take place in the
campus.
Kolosseum
Kolosseum is the mega annual B-school festival of
KSOM. Spread over three days, the event witnesses
various management, cultural and creative games and
star performances. Organization of the event has a
direct positive impact on the management skills of the
students. It also helps them compare themselves with
the best and brightest of the other participating
B-schools.
21
Placement
KSOM - one among the top four institutes in Eastern
India - attracts the best of corporate houses. The
institute strives to give the students a holistic and
real-time management education, thus empowering
them to become committed and competent
managers.
The Placement Committee comprises of a group
of faculty members, ably supported by the
representatives of the Student Placement
Committee. To keep the entire process
transparent, most major decisions are taken in
consultation with the students.
The preparation for placements takes place
much ahead of the placement season. This
begins with the soft skill training where all the
students are evaluated and individually
assessed by competent trainers. Students are
guided to work on their areas of improvement.
They also get ample inputs to improve their
performance before the placement season
begins.
The Placement department communicates
regularly about the job opportunities from the
companies willing to visit the campus. The
companies spell out the recruitment process,
after which the program is ne-tuned according
to the requirements. The institute provides
essential support to facilitate on-campus
placement process of companies. This usually
involves activities like sorting the resumes,
collection of appropriate data, providing
infrastructural facilities for conducting
evaluation activities such as written exam, group
discussion and personal interview (in person or
through video/tele conferencing).
