THE TORTOISES PICNIC

Betty: Once upon a time there were 9 tortoises:

Andrs: - Hello, Im grandpa!
Paula: - Hello, Im granny!
Samuel: Hello, Im daddy!
Alba: Hello, Im mummy!
Claudia, Pilar and Daniela: Hello, We are the sisters!
Ian and Iker: -Hi!, we are the twins brothers!

Betty: One beautiful spring day they decided to go for a picnic. They got
lots of tins and food.
Andrs: - Tins of salmon.
Samuel: - tins of sardines.
Claudia: - Sandwiches
Daniela: - chocolates!
Iker: - a tin of pineapple
Alejandra: - broccoli, cheese and ham!

Paula: - Tins of tuna

Alba: - lots of ice-creams
Pilar: - tins of olives
Ian: - tins of cake
Leyre: - fruit and orange juice!

Betty: The put everything in their baskets and after three months they were
ready.

Samuel: - Are you ready?
All: - Yes! Lets go !
Betty: - It was summer and it was sunny and very hot and they set out,
carrying their baskets. They walked and walked and after three months. They sat
down and had a rest.

Paula: - Me too!
Samuel: - Lets have a rest!

All: - Yes, at last!

Betty: It was autumn and it was cloudy and rainy.

Betty: -They set out again . It was winter and it was snowing and very

Betty: - They walked and walked and finally they reached the picnic place.
Leyre and Alejandra: - What a beautiful place!
Claudia, Daniela and Pilar: - Yes, its great!
Andrs and Paula: - ( un poquito hartos y muy cansados)
We just want to sit down!
Betty: Mummy spread out the cloth and the tortoises unpacked the baskets,
putting the food on it. Mummy looked at the cloth, looked into their baskets,
turned them all upside down and shook them, but they were empty.
Samuel: - Whats the matter?
Andrs and Paula: - What happens, now? ( con cara de resignacin)
Claudia, Pilar, Daniela, Ian and Iker: - Mummy, whats the matter? (asustados)
Alba: - We have forgotten the tin-opener!
All: - Oh, no!!!
(todos se miran desconcertados)
Leyre and Alejandra: - What can we do?
Andrs: (cogiendo algunas latas del mantel)- Weve got lots of tins. We need a
tin-opener!
Paula: - (sealando a los gemelos) Children, you will go back for it!
Ian and Iker: _Whaaaaaaaaaaaat???? Go back all that long way????
Samuel: We cant eat without a tin-opener.
All: - We will wait for you!
Ian: - Do you promise you wont eat?
All: (con la mano en el pecho y muy serios) We promise!
Iker: (dudando) - Are you sure? You promise?
All: - Of course, we promise!
Samuel: Come on, children! Lets go!

Betty: And all the tortoises waited and waited and waited and they were really
hungry.
Andrs and Paula: Im hungry!
Alba: - Im hungry, too!
Daniela: - Can I have some ice-cream, please?
Leyre: - Can I have some chocolate?
Alejandra: - Can I have some broccoli?
Claudia: - Can I have some fruit, please?
Pilar: - Can I have some pizza, please?

Samuel: ( muy enfadado) No! We promise! We must wait!
Betty: So, they waited and waited and another year passed and they got really
hungry.
(todos estn tocndose el estmago, muertos de hambre..)

Andrs: Im very old! I need vitamins!

Paula: - Me too! I m old too!
All: - Please, daddy, some food!
Samuel: Ok!, ok! Its six years now. Lets have one sandwich!
( todos se lanzan a coger el bocadillo pero, cuando estn a punto de morderlo, los
gemelos salen de detrs de un seto)

Ian: - Aha!!! we knew you would cheat!

Iker: - Its a good thing we didnt go back for the tin- opener!!
All: (ponindose la mano en la frente) Oh,no, this is not posible!.
Betty: All of them fainted and thats the end of the story.
