Overview :
CMS ultrasonic rotating heads RotoUTscan are designed for tubes and bars flaws detection at high speeds for :
- longitudinal defect detection
- transversal defect detection
- thickness and diameter measurement of the product, OD, ID and ovalization

Applications :
CMS rotating utrasonic heads meet quality standards
such as DIN, BS, ASTM, ASME and other.
Products inspected are tubes and bars, in carbon steel,
stainless steel, titanium .

Ultrasonic equipment system intended to operate with RotoUTscan rotating heads:

PC base interface Windows. 20 KHz pulse repetition frequency
It is an all-in-one, full-featured PC based industrial ultrasonic instrument for in factory usage. Employing PCI
architecture, instrument operation is made fast and easy via windows based inspection screens and intuitive dialogue
boxes for ultrasonic setup.
Configurable with either single or multi-channel front-end square wave pulser/receivers, it is expandable up to 24
independent ultrasonic channels and programmable I/O ports. It delivers: 105dB true instrument gain, 70dB DAC,
35MHz analog bandwidth and ample storage for virtually an unlimited number of setup files for different transducers and
inspection plans. Flaw alarms in line are available.

Supervision
Supervisory software to install in the UT equipment or in a separate computer and able to show for each channel the
result of the inspection in real time, store the data and results and provide a full report. Eddy Current can be connected
to the supervisor and supervisor can be connected to PLC or other via Ethernet and modem.

Configurations
All the RotoUTscan ultrasonic rotating heads are configurable as the customer need concerning the number of
channels (up the maximum possible) and the kind of channels for flaws detection or for measurement
Usually 6 channels is configured as :
2 channels for internal / external longitudinal flaws detection in FWD and REV
2 channels for internal / external transversal flaws detection in FWD and REV
1 or 2 channels for thickness measurement or OD-ID measurement with calculation of ovalization
Usually 12 channels is configured as :
4 channels for internal / external longitudinal flaws detection in FWD and REV
4 channels for internal / external transversal flaws detection in FWD and REV
2 channels with transducers at 180 for water gap and thickness measurement
1 channel with reference transducer target set for water velocity / temperature compensation
1 free

Mechanical bench :
Mechanical bench with 4 motorized centering devices.
Guidance inside the RotoUTscan by inserts adapted to the inspected tube diameter. To be replaced for each tube
diameter.

Water :
Water circulation system with tank, pump, pressurized water distribution and control
UV treatment, filtration, heating and cooling included, according to water heater control panel.
