HAN & PARTNERS is a boutique legal rm based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded by
Mr. Lee Kien Han with the aim to provide affordable and competent legal services to the
society, Han & Partners has expanded signicantly over the years to extend its portfolio to
a wide range of areas, including retail management, commercial and corporate, dispute
resolution, real estate, nance and banking, intellectual property and company secretarial.

The rms approach is creative solution driven. In Han & Partners, we

believe that there is always more than one solution to any issue and

in which the rm may provide assistance to its clients as the rm

OUR PRACTICE
Our practice is primarily in the areas of retail management, commercial and corporate,
dispute resolution, real estate, nance and banking, intellectual property and
company secretarial. In addition, the rm also has the experience and expertise in
working on cross borders transaction

To add value to our services, we also provide in-house training and conduct seminars
upon request from our clients. We also periodically advise our clients and provide
them with our views on any changes in the law and procedures that might affect
them in the course of their businesses.

The rm presently has a wide range of clients, domestically and internationally,

including government related organization, private funds, REITs, public listed
companies, MNCs, property developers, nancial institutions, professional rms and
small-medium enterprises We are pleased to add that a large portion of the rms
clients are through referrals from existing clients.

LEE KIEN HAN (Managing Partner)

Bachelor of Laws (LLB), University of the West England, Bristol

Kien Han is the founder of Han & Partners. He was admitted as an Advocate and
Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2004. Kien Han has the experience of working
with an Asia regional legal rm based in Singapore, during which he specialized in
corporate nance, merger and acquisition, and China and Vietnam related matters.
Kien Han has acted in various corporate exercises within and outside Malaysia and
some of his present and past portfolio include:

Acting for a china based medical equipment manufacturer in its proposed

listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia;

Acted for a pubic company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia
in its RM50 million shares acquisition in another pubic company listed on
the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia;

Acted for China based forestry company in its proposed listing on SGX
Main Board;

Acted for a public company listed on SGX Main Board in its proposed reverse
take-over;

Acted for an Indonesia-based power plant construction company in

obtaining a loan of USD51,700,000;

Acted for a public company listed on SGX Catalist in its rights issue of
529,844,255 shares;

Acted for a leading property developer in Malaysia and a public company

listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia in its capital distribution
through reduction of its share premium account by RM202 million;

Acted for a Singapore based private company in its acquisition by a private

fund based in Scotland

Besides corporate practice, Kien Han also has considerable knowledge in matters
relating to Landlord and Tenant and Strata Management and is presently the appointed
legal advisor to many retail malls in Malaysia. He also acted for 3 traders in suing the
Kelantan State Government and Kota Bahru City Council in relation to the ban of lottery
in the state of Kelantan.

PHANG SOON MUN

Bachelor of Laws (LLB), University Malaya

Soon Mun was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in
2010 and was retained as a Legal Assistant in a renowned dispute resolution rm in
Kuala Lumpur before he joined Han & Partners in 2011. During his practice, Soon Mun
was involved in various contentious matters including, but not limited, to the following

judicial review application against the Land Public Transport Commission;

defending civil claim under tort of trespass;

right of way application under section 390(2) National Land Code;

opposing application for committal proceedings;

challenge the indefeasibility of land title registration on grounds of fraud,

forgery and void instruments;

application under rule 137 Rules of the Federal Court 1995 for leave to review
and set aside a Federal Courts earlier decision;

appeal against the decision of the Sessions Court in respect of properties

seized under Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1989;

private prosecution under section 498 Penal Code;

defending a former Chairman of a public-listed company against a charge

by Securities Commission under section 122(1) Securities Industry Act 1983
in respect of false information furnished to Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd.;

resisting a joinder application during non-compliance proceedings in the

Industrial Court; and

defending a former Minister of Transport against, among others, a charge under

section 418 Penal Code for allegedly cheating the Government of Malaysia

YONG MAXINE

Maxine was admitted as an Advocate and
Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2013.
She is presently handling mainly dispute resolution works.
