from Detective Conan and hes
asking for help to complete the
broken messages he received from
Ran.
Are you willing to help Conan?
If yes, give me a Dream Dad clap
(message alert tone)
Oh! Look what Ive got! A message
from Conan. This is the content of
the message.
You may have heard people say
these from time to time. I know you
can answer them all!

Good morning too, Maam!

Yes, Maam.

Learning Stations:
-Eyes On Me
-The Voice
- Sharpen Your Skill
-Pen power

Yes, Maam.
(Dream Dad clap)

1. _______ is to believe.
2. It is better ______ than to receive.

TO SEE is to believe.

So, who can answer the first one?

Yes, Maam.

Do you agree with his answer?

TO SEE is to believe.
Brilliant!
Again, whats your answer?

It is better TO GIVE than to receive.

How about the next one?

None, Maam.

Who has another idea?

Yes, Maam.

Is that the final answer of the group?

Do you also agree that it is better to
give than to receive?
Why do you say so?

Yes, Maam.
It is because youll be more blessed in giving.
You can be able to share your blessings and
be a blessing to others as well.

(The teacher will facilitate in

processing the message/ passage.)
Congratulations! You were able to
complete
the
message.
Young
detectives like you deserve an
awesome clap. Lets do this!

(awesome clap)

Now, we are ready to send the

completed message to Detective
Conan.
(message sent)
Going back to our learning stations,
lets begin with eyes on me
station. Based on your answers to
see and to give, what is common to
them?

It is the word TO that makes them similar.

Exact observation!
b. Presentation of the lesson
Speaking of TO, we will deal on
infinitive.
c. Lesson Proper
Infinitive..
Thank you.
Lets discover more about infinitive
through your answers earlier. So
these are;

An infinitive is the TO form of a verb.

-TO GIVE
-TO SEE

You mentioned earlier that the word

TO makes them similar and now,
focus yourselves on the second
word. What can you observe? And
how do you consider the second
word in each answer?
Do you agree class?
And what is a verb?

The second word in each of the answer is

considered a VERB.
Yes, teacher.
Verb is an action word.

It is written in the present form or base form,

Maam.

Exactly!
Thats
the
simplest
description of what a verb is. And it
is written in what form of the verb?

To form infinitive/s it must compose of TO

and a VERB in its base form.

Combining all your answers, how do

we form infinitive/s?

Yes teacher.

Brilliant! Infinitive can be easily

recognized because of TO + VERB.
See, thats how easy to identify
infinitive. Is that clear?

-TO RECEIVE
-TO BELIEVE

Lets take a look one more time at

the completed messages, aside from
your answers earlier, will you
identify or name the remaining
infinitives?
Very good! It is an indication that
you are indeed keen observers.
So, lets move on with our next
learning station, which is THE VOICE.
Youre very lucky! Ive invited an
American Pop Rock Band- MAROON 5
just for you.

The teacher will flash the lyrics of

the song PAYPHONE by Maroon

The pupil will identify and
encircle the infinitives present in
the song.

from the lyrics of the song.)
To call

To be
To picture
To make
To try

Lets begin!

Yes, it starts with TO but the second word is a

PRONOUN.
Very good! You were able to
identify correctly the infinitives

present on the lyrics of the song.

But wait, take a look at this: TO ME
Why did you not encircle it if starts
with to?
Precisely! This is what I love in this
class. You exercise very well your
critical thinking skills. It is called a
PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE.
Based from the phrase TO ME, how

"Payphone"'
I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you

Where have the times gone? Baby, it's all wrong

Where are the plans we made for two?
I know it's hard to remember
The people we used to be...
It's even harder to picture,
That you're not here next to me.
You say it's too late to make it,
But is it too late to try?
And in our time that you wasted
All of our bridges burned down

For a heavenly cause

To right the unrightable wrong

To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too
weary
To reach the unreachable star

And I know if I'll only be true

To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and
calm
When I'm laid to my rest

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far

And the world will be better for this

That one man, scorned and
covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of
courage
To reach the unreachable staR

THE BOASTFUL SHRIMP

Once there was a shrimp who thought he was the most handsome shrimp in
all the world. Just look at my sword, he proudly told, pointing to the protrusion
at the end of his nose.Nothing can pierce my shield. All I need is to show my
shield and to hold my head high.
You are a handsome shrimp but you need not to display yourself too much
or else those humans might grab you, said the old shrimp.Grab me? All I need is
to stab him with my sword and that will be the end of him. Someday, they will
learn to admire me! said the shrimp.
The young shrimp forgot the old shrimps advice. He continued his habit of
showing his strong muscles inside his shell to other young shrimps. One day, a
fishing boat passed by to look for a good catch.
The boastful shrimp swam to the surface of the water. The fishermen saw
him and the boastful young shrimp was caught in the net.
That day, at lunch time, the boastful shrimp was seen on the end of a
barbecue stick.
What a fine, fat shrimp! exclaimed the persons around the dining table.
Its the best shrimp Ive ever tasted! said the person who picked up the
barbecue stick.
The boastful young shrimp got his wish at last.
