Course Objectives:

To provide sound knowledge about various techniques used for the measurement of
industrial parameters.

To have an adequate knowledge about temperature and pressure transducers.

To know about various flow and level measurement techniques adopted in industrial
environment. Exposure to various force, torque, density and velocity measuring
instruments.

Unit II
Motion and Vibration Measurement : Translational and Rotational Displacement:
Using Potentiometers, Strain Gauges, Differential Transformer, Capacitance Pick Ups,
Digital displacement Transducers, Different Types of Tachometers, Accelerometers,
Gyros, Force, Torque and Shaft Power Measurement: Elastic Force Transducer,
Vibrating Wire Transducer, Gyroscopic Force Transducer, Torque Measurement in
