CLASS PROCEDURES

Starting and entering class


1. Teacher and students greet each other followed by dua recitation.
2. Teacher checks the class and students condition - students make sure the
class is clean and comfortable at all time.
3. Students should be in their seat and make sure learning materials are
ready.
Quieting class
1. Teacher raises one hand, students stop working/discussing, and pay
attention to
the teacher.
Seeking Help
1. Students wish to speak/ask questions - raise index finger.
2. Students need help - raise 1 finger.
3. Students need to leave their seat - raise 3 fingers.
Dismissing Class
1. Wait for the teachers permission to leave.
2. Push the chairs in.
3. Do not leave any rubbish or belongings behind.

SCHOOL BASED ORAL ASSESSMENT
Overall Objective - To assess candidates ability to use the language in
everyday situations, speaking and communicating effectively to fulfill
their needs.
The test assesses the candidates ability to:
1. Converse effectively on a topic
2. Speak fluently and coherently
3. Give appropriate responses
4. Speak using correct pronunciation and grammar

5. Speak using a wide range of vocabulary


Model 1 - Form 4 (Feb - April)
The students presents an activity to the teacher within 3 to 5 minutes.
(Individual)
Suggested activities:
1. Present information from non-linear forms such as charts or graphs
Example: Show a chart on accidents and talk about it.
2. Give descriptions of a place, an event or a person.
3. Narrate a story.
4. Present reports of a book, a survey or a club.
5. Give opinions.
Example of task:
- Describe your room based on a picture.
- Narrate a comical story about Pak Pandir.
- Give a talk based on a bar chart about how students spend their
pocket moneY.

Model 2 - Form 4 (Jun - August)


The student presents an activity to the teacher. The teacher
prompts and assesses the candidate. (Teacher - Student)
Suggested activities
1. Ask for and give directions to a place.
2. Talk and share information.
3. Give descriptions.
4. Carry out an interview.
Example of task:
- Talk about the importance of recycling
information on the benefits of recycling.

you do together and so on.
This is how you do it
Step 1 - Choose an activity that you re familiar with.
Step 2 - Consult your teacher on your choice of the activity.
Step 3 - Prepare the activity and practise at home or in front of a
friend.
Step 4 - Before you present your task, take a deep breath and
release it slowly.

Concentrate on the task.

Step 5 - Now present the task in front of the class or the teacher.
Step 6 - Do not memorise the whole presentation. Write out your
points on small cards. You may refer to the cards but do not read
from them.
