Scott Turbo Separator


Scope of Supply
MODEL 2096M TURBO SEPARATOR 20 in diameter by 96 long from endplate to endplate. Inlet
size to be specified by customer. Outlet to be the full width of the separator.
CONSTRUCTION: It is constructed of carbon steel on all product contact points except the shell of the
separator which is 304 stainless and is equipped with hinged access doors. Access doors to be fitted
with counterweights for ease of opening. Access doors secured with bolts. Each door will have 3 or
4 bolts depending on the length of the door. Internal finish is mill and the external finish to a color
specified by customer.
AGITATOR: The main shaft is made of 6 solid carbon steel supported by 3 15/16 pillow block
bearings set outboard. There are (44) 36mm dia. holes drilled through the shaft. (44) 36mm adjustable
paddles. (44) 36mm extension caps supplied. The caps will fit between the edges of the wide paddles
with approximately 1/8- clearance if wide paddles are used. (44) 36mm lock washers to be fitted
under the cap nuts. (44) rectangular washers will fit into the slotted shaft faces. (44) 36mm shoulder
nuts to be included. They will be drilled and tapped for a 12mm set screw that will secure the nut to the
blade. The shoulder nuts will be made from hexagonal bar stock and will not be tapered. Lengths to
be increased for added strength. The shoulder nuts will be welded to the square washer. The drive
shaft to be 3 15/16 with keyway. The keyway does not extend to the end of the shaft. Blades are
carbon steel construction.
SHAFT SEALS: Packing gland seals with (3) rings of Graphite packing. Seals and bearings to be
guarded.

MANIFOLD: Standard liquid manifold included to help produce cleaner packaging. Consists of a main
head with 5 inlets into the cylinder. Each inlet to be fitted with a valve.
ACCESS DOORS: There is full access inside the unit through (3) hinged access doors. The small
access door located at the inlet to be made as large as possible. Doors to be fitted with brackets to
accept padlocks.
SCREENS: Included are (3) replaceable screens. The screen hold-down bars secured with bolts.
The breaker bars are to be welded continuously in place except for the center door section. They
will be bolted in place. (1) screen under the inlet, 25mm (1). (2) screens in the remainder of the unit,
20mm (7/8). A spare set of screens is supplied with the unit. Size to be determined. The screen
design to be with the raised surface so the face of the screen is flush with the breaker bars.

SUPPORT STAND, COLLECTION HOPPER, AND WORK PLATFORM: Constructed of carbon


steel and designed to support the Turbo Separator, the support stand includes a work platform on the
front side of the separator which allows access to the access doors for inspection and maintenance.
Work platform includes a steel grate deck, hand rail and ladder. The collection hopper discharge size
and design to be determined.

SCOTT RECEIVING CONVEYOR SYSTEM:


Materials of Construction: 3/16 carbon steel plate on the side walls and end walls. The hopper
discharge area will be inclined to accept a twin auger screw conveyor. Approximate capacity of the in
feed hopper to be 150 cu.ft.
A drain supplied opposite discharge for water drainage system.
The discharge conveyor consists of (2) 14 diameter screws 24 long. Each screw supplied with (2) 5
HP (Full Load Amps 6.25 typical running amps 5) drive systems including premium efficient 240V 60hz
motors operating at 10-20 RPM. 7 gauge carbon steel body supplied on transfer screw system with 10
gauge hinged cover for maintenance and cleanout.
NOTE: The feed rate of product into the separator will need to be varied. This will be controlled by
variable frequency drive assemblies.

Prices quoted are net unless otherwise stated.
Prices quoted do not include Federal, State,
Municipal or other Government excise, sales,
use, occupational or other like taxes now in
force or to be enacted. Should such taxes be
assessed upon this transaction, Scott
Equipment (hereinafter called the seller)
hereby reserves the right to invoice for same).
All items or services furnished as a result of
this job write-up shall be subject to the terms
and conditions specified herein, including
warranty, which may not be added to, modified
or altered notwithstanding any terms or
conditions that may be contained in any
purchase order, invoice, or form of purchases
unless expressly accepted by written
agreement executed by an authorized agent of
the selling company.
All agreements or unfulfilled portions thereof
are contingent upon strikes, lockouts,
accidents, fires, war, governmental action,
embargoes, inability to obtain supplies or
labor, and in event that performance in whole
or in part is prevented or hindered or
abnormally increased in cost by any of the
causes named, or by any other cause
whatsoever beyond our control, whether or not
similar to any of the causes specifically
enumerated we shall have the right to cancel
without any liability on our part contracts or
portions thereof thereby affected.
Acknowledged prices are firm for completion
date stated unless otherwise specified. Prices
subject to escalation when completion date is
extended for reasons beyond our control.
Orders canceled by Purchaser are subject
to the following cancellation charges:
1-30 days 15% charge; 31-60 days 30%
charge; 61-90 days 50% charge; after 90
days 100% charge.
Seller retains title to and shall have a security
interest in the equipment until final payment is
received. Purchaser is responsible for
insuring the piece of equipment for its full
replacement value upon receiving the piece of
equipment. The Purchaser is required to
furnish a Certificate of Insurance verifying
such coverage until title passes to Purchaser.
Purchaser represents to seller that Purchaser
is solvent.
Typographical and stenographic errors subject
to correction.
Purchaser assumes liability for patent and
copyright infringement when goods are made
to Purchasers specifications.
Conditions not specifically stated herein shall
be governed by established trade customs.
Terms inconsistent with those stated herein,
which appear on Purchasers formal order, will
not be binding on the seller.

WARRANTY and LIMITATION


of LIABILITY
The Seller warrants the equipment
manufactured by the Seller to be free of
defects in material and workmanship for a
period of one year from the date of shipment.
Seller agrees to repair or replace at factory, at
its option, any parts found defective in the
opinion of the seller. Seller is not liable for any
costs in connection with the removal,
shipment, or installation of said parts. This
warranty does not apply to abrasion, corrosion
or erosion.
This Limited Express Warranty does not
cover and does not apply to:
(1) Air filters, fuses, lubricant, fluids, oil or like
items; (2) Any portion of the Machinery not
supplied by Scott Equipment, regardless of the
cause of the failure of such portion or
components; (3) Machinery on which the
identification tags have been removed or
defaced; (4) Machinery on which payment
to Scott Equipment is or has been in
default; (5) Machinery which has defects or
damage which result from improper
installation, wiring, electrical imbalance
characteristics or maintenance; (6) Machinery
which has defects or damage caused by
accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, fire,
flood, alteration or improper application of the
Machinery; (7) Machinery which has defects or
damage which result from contaminated or
corrosive air, liquid or lubricant; (8) Machinery
subjected to corrosion or abrasion; (9)
Machinery manufactured or supplied by
others; (10) Machinery which has been
operated in a manner contrary to Scott
Equipments printed instructions; (11) Cutting
tools, dies, tooling or any parts, attachments
or accessories used in connection with the
Machinery; (12) Machinery that has defects as
a result of freight damage, collision,
overturning, dropping, water damage,
shocking or showing of the Machinery by
BUYER after Scott Equipments shipment;
(13) Machinery which has been sold or
transferred by the BUYER; or (14) Machinery
which is relocated after its initial installation.
THIS AGREEMENT CONTAINS THE ENTIRE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BUYER AND
THE SELLER. THERE ARE NOT
WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, OR
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS OR
OTHERWISE, WHICH EXTEND BEYOND
THE DESCRIPTION OF THE FACE
HEREOF.
THE SELLER SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY
FOR ANY SPECIAL INDIRECT OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING
FROM LOSSES OWING TO FAILURE OF
THE PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED OR
SOLD BY THE SELLER, WHETHER BASED
ON CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE OR
OTHERWISE WITH RESPECT TO SAID
PRODUCTS.

Purchaser agrees to look solely to the


warranty. If any, of the manufacturer or
supplier of equipment manufactured by others
and supplied to the seller for any alleged
defects in such equipment and for any
damages or injuries caused there or as a
result there.
PURCHASER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE
FOR COMPLIANCE WITH ELECTRICAL
MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATIONS,
UNDERWRITERS CODE AND ALL SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS.
The only warranty extended under this
agreement is the above express warranty and
there are no other warranties of
merchantability, fitness for a particular
purpose or otherwise which extend beyond the
face hereof. The seller and its dealers shall
not in any event be liable for consequential or
incidental damages and this agreement
provides purchasers sole and exclusive
remedy. Any actions for breach of this
agreement or warranty must be commenced
within one year after the cause of action has
occurred.
PROPOSAL SUBJECT TO ACCEPTANCE
BY SELLER. This proposal does not
constitute an offer and no contract shall exist
until this proposal has been accepted by the
Purchaser and thereafter accepted by the
seller at its New Prague office.
Prices quoted are firm for thirty (30) days
unless otherwise specified on the quotations
terms. After thirty (30) days, be advised, all
prices are based on costs and conditions
existing on date of quotation and are subject
to change by the seller before final
acceptance.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

LIABILITY AND TERMS OF SHIPMENT
SELLER shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or delays due to transportation difficulties, accidents, fire, strikes, labor shortage, civil or military authority,
insurrections, riots, or any other causes or circumstances beyond its reasonable control. The delivery of equipment to the transportation company for shipment to
PURCHASER shall release SELLER from all claims for damages by reason of any delay after such delivery to the transportation company, and PURCHASERS remedy
for delay or loss in transportation shall be solely against the transportation company. The liability of SELLER hereunder, in the event that the equipment fails to meet any
warranty herein ,shall only be as set forth herein.
PURCHASER shall pay all taxes on equipment or, if PURCHASER claims an exemption will provide the proper form of certification. Unless specified otherwise, all
equipment shall be shipped F.O.B. point of shipment and shall be at PURCHASERS risk upon delivery to the transportation company. Time of shipment of equipment
shall be as agreed upon. However SELLER shall be excused because of delays as set forth above.
INSTALLATION AND REPAIR ASSISTANCE; CONTROL OF EQUIPMENT
Unless otherwise agreed by separate subsequent written agreement, from and after arrival at destination by the transportation company control of the equipment shall be
in the PURCHASER. Thereafter, the PURCHASER at its expense shall have full responsibility for the installation and for the operation, safety and maintenance of the
equipment, including during testing periods, if any. If PURCHASER requests, SELLER will furnish experienced personnel to assist in installing, testing or repairing
equipment. Such services shall be provided at SELLERS then current rates.
PURCHASER agrees to unload and haul all equipment and to take such precautions as may be necessary to recover from the transportation company for any and all
damages or loss that may have occurred to the equipment while in transit.
LIABILITY FOR NEGLIGENCE
All persons engaged in the work of handling or installing and operating the equipment other than those persons furnished by SELLER in accordance with the above
section shall be under the sole direction and control of PURCHASER, and no liability shall attach to SELLER by reason of any damage or injury to equipment resulting
from the negligence of such persons.
WARRANTY; LIMITATIONS THEREOF
SELLER warrants the equipment of its manufacture to be free from defective material or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from date of shipment from
SELLERS plant when given normal and proper usage and while owned by the original PURCHASER from SELLER. This limited warranty shall be valid only if the
equipment has been operated and maintained in accordance with generally approved practice and in accordance with SELLERS instructions and further that no repairs,
alterations or replacements not directed in equipment manuals provided by the SELLER to be made by the PURCHASER have been made without the Sellers prior
written approval. Parts claimed defective must be returned by PURCHASER to SELLER and, if found defective as claimed, shall be replaced free of charge, including
freight both ways. Parts claimed defective but not easily removable shall be inspected by SELLER at location of the equipment and, if found defective, will be repaired
free of charge. SELLER shall in no event be held liable for damage or delay caused by defective parts and will not accept any charges for work performed by
PURCHASER in making adjustments or repairs to the equipment unless such work has been directed in the equipment manuals provided with the equipment to be
performed by the PURCHASER or has been authorized in writing by SELLER. Any equipment or components not of SELLERS own manufacture is sold under such
warranty only as the maker thereof gives to SELLER and SELLER is able to enforce, but such items are not warranted by SELLER in any way. When equipment is sold
to be utilized in combination with other equipment (whether or not SELLERS) pursuant to the PURCHASERS own design or request, the warranty is limited to each
separate piece of equipment provided and not their combined use or the use of any other equipment with which such equipment has been combined. PURCHASERS
sole and exclusive remedy against the SELLER shall be for the repair or replacement of defective parts as provided herein.
IN NO EVENT WILL THE SELLER BE LIABLE FOR ANY OTHER REMEDY INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOSSES OR EXPENSES ARISING IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, ITS EQUIPMENT
FOR ANY PURPOSE WHATSOEVER. THE LIMITED WARRANTY DESCRIBED HEREIN SHALL BE IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTY,
EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
CONDITIONS
THE SELLER MAY HAVE MADE STATEMENTS ABOUT THE EQUIPMENT DESCRIBED IN THIS AGREEMENT. SUCH STATEMENTS DO NOT
CONSTITUTE WARRANTIES, SHALL NOT BE RELIED ON BY THE PURCHASER, AND ARE NOT PART OF THIS AGREEMENT. THE ENTIRE
CONTRACT IS EMBODIED IN THIS WRITING WHICH CONSTITUTES THE FINAL AND COMPLETE EXPRESSION OF THE PARTIES
AGREEMENT, AND NO MODIFICATION OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE BINDING UPON EITHER PARTY UNLESS SUCH MODIFICATION
SHALL BE IN WRITING DULY ACCEPTED BY PURCHASER AND APPROVED BY AN OFFICER OF SELLER AT ITS HOME OFFICE.
Unless and until the equipment is fully paid for, SELLER reserves and PURCHASER in accepting this quotation grants to SELLER a security interest in said equipment
to secure the unpaid balance of the price and all other obligations of the PURCHASER to SELLER howsoever arising. PURCHASER hereby appoints SELLER as its
attorney-in-fact with power of substitution in the name of SELLER, PURCHASER, or otherwise to execute and record such financing statements and other notices as
SELLER deems necessary to perfect its rights hereunder and to do all other things necessary or desirable to perfect and maintain the security interest granted thereby. `
THIS AGREEMENT contemplates only the purchase and use by PURCHASER of the equipment specified herein, and nothing herein contained shall be construed as a
right or license to PURCHASER or anyone acting for or in behalf of PURCHASER to duplicate, copy or otherwise reproduce the equipment either in whole or in part,
and PURCHASER, except as may be needed from time to time to keep the equipment in working order, shall not duplicate, copy or otherwise reproduce the equipment
either in whole or in part, or aid or assist others in so doing without written approval of SELLER. Violation of this provision may cause irreparable injury to SELLER
that cannot be compensated in damages. Accordingly, PURCHASER agrees that SELLER is entitled to obtain injunctive relief for any breach or threatened breach of
this provision.
THIS AGREEMENT shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns of the parties hereto, and shall be
binding only when approved by an officer of SELLER at its home office and cannot be canceled without prior written approval of SELLER and shall be governed and
construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio.
