EUCO#460 EPOXY
SYSTEM
POLYSULFIDE ADHESIVE
EUCO#460 EPOXY SYSTEM is a 100% reactive, 2 component material designed as a moisture insensitive adhesive and binder for numerous application needs. This low modulus material
is available in a low viscosity (LV) medium viscosity (MV) or GEL consistency. EUCO#460 provides long working time when bonding dry or damp
concrete at temperature above 4oC.
FEATURES
l Excellent adhesive for bonding together
concrete, steel, ceramic or wood materials.
l Moisture insensitive for bonding to dry or
damp surfaces.
l Bonds fresh concrete toppings to hardened
concrete slabs.
l Protects concrete substrates against
chemical attack including most acids and
caustics.
l May be extended with sand or aggregate
for thick applications and mortar repairs.
l Summer or winter grade for meeting ambient temperature needs.

NOT RECOMMENDED OVER

l New concrete less than 30 days old as a
surface sealer.
l Concrete with curing and sealing membranes.
l Base concrete at temperature under 4oC.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Surface Preparation - In general the surface
prepration and application procedure specified
in ACI 503.1, 503.2, 503.3 and 503.4 should be
followed.
Surface Preparation - New concrete must be
28 days old and possess an open porous and
textured surface with all curing compounds and
sealers removed. Old concrete must be clean
and well textured. All oil dirt, debries paint and
unsound concrete must be removed. The surface should be prepared mechanically using a
scabbler, bushhammer, shotblast, scarifier or
similar equipment which will give a surface profile commensurate with the application. (Coating applications should have a light sandblast
appearance while topping applications should
have the surface of the concrete profiled to expose the large aggregate of the concrete.) The
final step in cleaning should be the complete
removal of all residue with a vacuum cleaner or
pressure washer.
Acid etching is acceptable only when mechanical preparation is impractical. It is recommended
that only contractors experienced in the acid
etching process use this means of surface
preparation. The salt of the reaction must be
thoroughly washed away. Allow the concrete to
completely dry. Note: Even with proper procedures, an acid etched surface may not produce
as strong a bond as produced by other preparation methods.
Mixing - All materials should be in the proper

temperature range of 16oC - 32oC. Mix part A

and part B (resin & hardener for 2 minutes using
a drill and mixing prop. For ease of mixing, add
the part B to part A (not the reverse). The epoxy
must be well mixed to ensure proper chemical
reaction.
If aggregate is to be added, the aggregate is
mixed into the epoxy after the part A and part B
have been premixed together. Place immediately.
Coating- After priming, apply EUCO #460 MV
using a roller or squeegee. For non-slip surface, allow coating to set 5 minutes and broadcast Euco Epoxy Aggregate over the surface to
desired texture. For complete embedment, backroll sand into coating. For vertical and overhead surfaces, EUCO #460 GEL may be preferable to prevent sagging.
Vertical and Overhead Repairs - Use EUCO
#460 GEL blended with Euco Epoxy Aggregate.
Trowel mortar into repair areas. For thin, shallow depth repairs, use net gel without aggregate.
Floor Topping - Large scale floor toppings require special procedures. Normally, use Euco
#460 LV for greater yield and ease of applica-

tion. Use Euco Epoxy Aggregate (Part C) as

filler for the topping. Sand contents will vary
from 40 to 60 lbs./gallon of epoxy depending on
application. Power trowelling is acceptable with
the proper mix and with the use of Euco solvent
as a finishing aid. All topping should be primed
with EUCO #460 LV.
Floor and Joint Repairs - Add Euco Epoxy Aggregate, (Part C) to mix EUCO #460 MV Epoxy
and blend until uniform. Smooth repair area
should be primed with EUCO #460 LV. Apply
repair mortar before bond coat loses tackiness.
Trowel to a smooth finish, Wet trowel with Euco
solvent or xylene to minimize stickiness. See
chart for appropriate amount of aggregate to be
added per unit.
Curing - No curing membranes or materials are
required. The EUCO #460 Epoxy system is selfcuring. Keep application area above 4oC for a
minimum of 7 days after application.
Anchoring - EUCO #460 Epoxy is suitable for
use as a normal set anchoring material for dowel
bars and anchor bolts. EUCO #460 MV is normally used for anchors on horizontal surfaces
and #460 GEL is generally used for anchors on
vertical surfaces.
