Methode:
Komplexometrische Titration
Die hrtebildenden Magnesium- und Calcium-Ionen werden vom
Komplexbildner EDTA als Chelate gebunden. Die Bestimmung erfolgt
als Titration gegen einen Metallindikator, dessen Farbe bei vollstndiger
Komplexierung der Hrtebildner umschlgt.

Gefahrenhinweise:
GH-1 enthlt Ethanol 2035% und Triethanolamin 2045%.
Fr weitere Informationen knnen Sie ein Sicherheitsdatenblatt anfordern.
Gebrauchsanweisung:
1. Probegef mit 5 mL Wasserprobe fllen. Kunststoffspritze verwenden.
2. 
2 Tropfen GH-1 zugeben, durch Umschwenken vermischen. Die
Wasserprobe frbt sich rot. Bei Grnfrbung sind keine Hrtebildner
vorhanden.
3. Tropfflasche GH-2 genau senkrecht halten und Reagenz tropfenweise zugeben; dabei Probe durch Umschwenken vermischen, bis
sie sich grn verfrbt. Tropfen zhlen. Ein Tropfen entspricht einem
Grad Gesamthrte (d).
4. Nach Gebrauch Probegef grndlich splen.
5. Die Tropfflaschen nach Gebrauch sofort verschlieen. Die Tropfer
nicht berhren.
Die Methode ist auch zur Analyse von Meerwasser nach Verdnnung
(1+29) geeignet.
Entsorgung:
Die gebrauchten Analysenanstze knnen mit Leitungswasser ber die
Kanalisation der rtlichen Abwasserbehandlungsanlage zugefhrt werden.
Strungen:
Kupfer(II)-Ionen knnen den Indikatorumschlag verzgern, bei hheren Konzentrationen auch vollstndig blockieren. Deshalb bei
Kupferleitungen vor der Probenahme ausreichend Wasser ablaufen
lassen.

Zur Bestimmung der Gesamthrte in Gegenwart von Kupfer-Ionen bitte
Sondervorschrift bei MACHEREY-NAGEL anfordern.
Mit den Testbestecken VISOCOLOR ECO Gesamthrte und
VISOCOLOR ECO Calcium (REF 931 012) kann auch der
Magnesiumgehalt ermittelt werden:

Lagerung:
Testbesteck khl (< 25 C) und trocken aufbewahren.

Method:
Complexometric titration
Magnesium and calcium ions, which cause hardness, are combined by
the complexing agent EDTA to form chelates. The test is carried out
by titration using a metal indicator which changes color when all of the
hardness-producing substances have combined.
Contents:
sufficient for 110 tests at an average hardness of 10 d

1 instructions for use
Hazard warning:
GH-1 contains ethanol 2035% and triethanolamine 2045%.
For further information please ask for a safety data sheet.
Instructions for use:
1. Pour a 5 mL water sample into the specimen jar using the plastic
syringe.
2. Add 2 drops of GH-1 and shake the jar to mix the contents. The
water sample turns red. If the water sample turns green, this means
that there are no hardness-producing substances.
3. Hold the dropping bottle GH-2 absolutely vertical and add GH-2
drop by drop, shaking the specimen at the same time to mix until it
turns green. Count the number of drops. One drop corresponds to
one degree of total water hardness (d).
4. After use, rinse out the specimen jar thoroughly.
5. Seal the dropping bottles immediately after use. Do not touch the
dropping pipettes.
This method can be applied also for the analysis of sea water after dilution (1+29).
Disposing of the samples:
The used analysis specimens can be flushed down the drain with tap
water and channelled off to the local sewage treatment works.
Interferences:
Copper(II) ions may delay the indicator change or even block this
change if higher levels are present. Therefore, in the case of copper
pipes, let the water run for a sufficient amount of time before taking the
sample.

The test kits VISOCOLOR ECO total Hardness and VISOCOLOR

magnesium:

Storage:
Store the test kit in a cool (< 25 C) and dry place.

La dtermination est effectue par titrage laide dun indicateur mtallique qui change de couleur lorsque toutes les substances responsables de la duret ont t lies.

Indications de danger :
GH-1 contient dthanol 2035% et de trithanolamine 2045%.
Pour avoir des informations supplmentaires, commandez s.v.p. une
fiche de donnes de scurit.
Mode demploi :
1. A laide de la seringue en plastique, verser 5 mL dchantillon
deau dans le rcipient.
2. Ajouter 2 gouttes de GH-1, agiter pour mlanger. Lchantillon
deau devient rouge. Si lchantillon devient vert, cela signifie quil
ny a aucune substance responsable de la duret.
3. Maintenir le flacon compte-gouttes GH-2 parfaitement vertical.
Ajouter le ractif GH-2 goutte goutte en mlangeant continuellement lchantillon jusqu ce quil devienne vert. Compter le
nombre de gouttes. Une goutte correspond un degr de duret
totale (d).
4. Aprs utilisation, rincer soigneusement le rcipient chantillon.
5. Fermer les flacons compte-gouttes immdiatement aprs lutilisation. Ne toucher pas louverture des flacons.
Aprs dilution (1+29), cette mthode peut tre utilise aussi pour lanalyse de leau de mer.
Eliminations des chantillons :
Les chantillons danalyse utiliss peuvent tre envoys lgout avec
de leau du robinet avant leur traitement lunit locale de traitement
des eaux.
Interfrences :
Les ions cuivre(II) peuvent retarder le virage de lindicateur ou mme
lempcher en cas de teneurs leves. Donc, dans le cas de tuyaux en
cuivre, laissez couleur leau pendant un certain temps avant de prlever
lchantillon.
