Pulp Fiction

Pulp fiction is a 1994 film directed by Quentin Tarantino and is a


black comedy crime film.
Plot summary
Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega (played by Samuel. L Jackson and
John Travolta) are two hit men who are out to retrieve a suitcase
stolen from their employer, mob boss Marsellus Wallace (played by
Ving Rhames). Wallace has also asked Vincent to take his wife Mia
(played by Uma Thurman) out a few days later when Wallace
himself will be out of town. Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) is an aging
boxer who is paid by Wallace to lose his next fight. The lives of these
seemingly unrelated
people are
woven together
comprising of a
series of funny, bizarre
and uncalledfor incidents.

The Shawshank Redemption


Shawshank Redemption is an American Drama film directed by
Frank Darabont in 1994.
Plot summary
Bank Merchant Andy Defrene (Tim Robbins) is convicted of the
murder of his wife and her lover, and sentenced to life imprisonment
at Shawshank
prison. Life seems to have taken a turn for the worse, but
fortunately Andy befriends some of the other inmates, in particular
a character known only as Red. Over time Andy finds ways to live
out life with relative ease as one can in a prison, leaving a message
for all that while the body may be locked away in a cell, the spirit
can never be truly imprisoned.

Despite being a Box Office
disappointment- $25 million budget, $28 million box office, it
received multiple award nominations as well as exceptional reviews
from critics. During its release time, Shawshank redemption was not
as big a success as it was the following years after. Readers of
Empire magazine voted the film as the best film of the 1990s, and it
placed number 4 on Empire' s list of "The 500 Greatest Movies of All
Time" in 2008.

GoodFellas
GoodFellas is an American Crime film directed by Martin Scorsese in
1990.
Plot summary
A young man grows up in the mob and works very hard to advance
himself through the ranks. He enjoys his life of money and luxury,
but is oblivious to the horror that he causes. A drug addiction and a
few mistakes ultimately unravel his climb to the top. Based on the
book "Wiseguy" by Nicholas Pileggi.

The Silence of The Lambs


The Silence of the Lambs is a 1991 America Thriller film that blends
crime and horror together and is directed by Jonathan Demme.
Furthermore it is based on Thomas Harris novel of the same name.
Plot summary
Jodie Foster stars as Clarice Starling, a top student at the FBI's
training academy. Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn) wants Clarice to
interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant
psychiatrist who is also a violent psychopath, serving life behind
bars for various acts of murder and cannibalism. Crawford believes
that Lecter may have insight into a case and that Starling, as an
attractive young woman, may be just the bait to draw him
out.

1991 and had a budget of $19 million. Numbers soared
in the box office with them reaching to $272 million
which is a huge profit compared to what budget they were given.

-It was only the third film, the other two being It Happened One
Night and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, to win Academy Awards
in all the top five categories:

The Dark Knight Rises


The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 action/thriller film, directed by
Christopher Nolan.
Plot summary
8 years after the events of The Dark Knight find Gotham at a time of
peace. This is due to Batman taking the fall for Harvey Dent's
murder. However, a new evil force named Bane has arrived in
Gotham and aims to take over the city and expose the truth behind
who Harvey Dent really was. Now that Wayne Manor has been
completely rebuilt - Bruce Wayne has become almost reclusive,
rarely leaving the estate. And with Bane taking over the city by
force, it forces Batman to come out of retirement. But his allies are
few and far apart. An elusive jewel thief by the name of Selina Kyle
could be the key to stopping Bane - but whose side is she on?

actress: action, Saturn award for best supporting actress, Central
Ohio film critics association award with Christopher Nolan winning
the AFI movies of the year award and Hans Zimmer (music director)
winning the BMI film music award.
