Optimizing of NDPMS Proposition

Project Brief:
Non Discretionary Portfolio Management System is a new product which offers equity investment platform and
research backed advisory where decision making authority remains with the client. The project revolved around
optimizing the portfolio to yield best return.
Objectives:
To improve risk-adjusted NDPMS portfolio performance by examining the portfolio mix, industry and stock
exposures of a large cap model portfolio.
Deliverables:
Calculating alphas from the current model portfolio - segregating alpha generation from industry exposure and
from stock selection.
Creating simulations with differing industry weights benchmarked against the Sensex to determine if the industry
exposure multiples as suggested by the firm are optimal and provide analysis for the changes in the multiple.

Creating simulations with differing stocks and stock weights within industry to determine if current
weights/practices are optimal and examining the performance of other stocks within the same sector and market
capitalization.
